If the homunculus created is not available for sacrifice what happens?

I tried it with Grave Pact, and it has worked pretty well. It doesn't require another card for a sacrifice mechanism, it is repeatable every turn, and the Conjurer itself it good for creating a chump blocker until you get the BlackBlackBlack for Grave Pact. Glassdust Hulk is also a good target (as has already been mentioned), since the evasion it gets from the artifact is, well, the best kind of evasion. However, using the Conjurer with Glaze Fiend will give the fiend an instant speed buff, and you don't need any other colors to pull it off. With Sludge Strider, you can essentially turn 2Blue into 2 damage to an opponent and 2 life for you. I also tried it with Blood Cultist. It lets you get the counter for the Cultist each turn if there aren't any other good targets on the board.

He creates creatures and sacrifices creatures at regular intervals. There are lots of good 2-card applications for this card. Don't discredit it.

An average card. Handy for making blockers since they will be dead before you need ot get rid of them, but Id still go for a card which can make stuff that stay in play.

this card works quite well with tolarian acadamy and skullclamp. If you want to play mono blue then you can use master transmuter to get this guy into play.

Pure combo fuel.

You are forgetting however that the problem with using the token with cards like Skullclamp, Gravepact and Blood Cultist is that they work best with creatures that go to the graveyard: tokens don't go to the graveyard, they simply get removed from the game. However the Sludge Strider combo is genius!

Use him to consistently build up your Thraximundar...

Darthcuddles, in regards to your comment about tokens not going into graveyards, they actually do hit the graveyard long enough to trigger 'goes-into-graveyard' effects. So Puppet Conjurer will work with the aforementioned Skullclamp, Gravepact, Blood Cultist, etc...

RickMaadi179, in regard to your comment about Deathcuddles, I think he/she was talking about cards that have effects when they hit the graveyard, like Arcbound worker. But I'm not sure.

I have this card in one of my Decks. Has lost of different uses in the right deck, and takes up a very important part in mine, even if its just creting chump blockers until i can get some big creatures on the board.

He may not be the strongest card, but I love him anyway and stick up for him when I can. he gives my Sieves and Foundries fodder, and just generally works sacrifice and untap effects. Plus, I love the artwork, with him scowling at the viewer, and the narrative flavor text, describing this self-destructive, self-perpetuating, looped character flaw. I dunno, the Conjurer is a pretty cool guy. eh makes ***nculi and doesn't afraid of anything.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has mentioned possibly the most interesting combo with this fellow: him + Silver Myr + Intruder Alarm. Vedalken Engineer also works in place of the Myr. You can then use Grinding Station for milling, Blasting Station for damage, or Krark-Clan Ironworks for mana. A delicate but fun as heck combo.

I did run this for Thopter Foundry, then I realised that if you have no token left, you have to sacrifice another Homunculus with his effect, namely my Court ***nculus...

Braids, Cabal Minion. Just make sure to stack the abilities so that you sack the Homunculus to Braids rather than the puppeteer.

sort of an anti-synergy for homunculus decks

if such a thing exists

Note: you don't need to sacrifice a Homunculus if you have none. Therefore you can reliably feed his crap to whatever sacrifice engines you have (and quite frankly since they're 0/1 that's pretty much their only purpose).

Powerful stalling card. You drop him on turn 2, and then any time you need a blocker, you can make one for 1 blue mana.
