Goes well in a control or mill deck along with Planar Cleansing and card draw.

It has its niche purpose, but I think three consecutive reprints is excessive.

I think this card will be a high pick in Limited in this format because of how powerful mill is.
T2: Mill 7 is pretty crazy in a 40 card deck.

I'm thinking this is going to be pretty good in a sideboard for a deck like Reanimator if someone tries to exile your graveyard.

Good guard against mill decks without Tormod's crypt

Not to mention this card saves you from decking yourself out with cards like Momentous Fall or Murder of Crows.

What's the complaint?

The community rating on this card has gone down with each reprint. I don't understand what the complaint would be that is apparently resulting in greater and greater dissatisfaction with the card's printing. Do you just want to be excited by 'something new', or are your complaints that reprints don't provide you with greater levels of power in your spells?

This thing is freaking awesome - particularly in casual games, where extreme speed isn't as much of a factor. I hope it stays around forever.

With each reprint, it keeps hope alive that Baron Sengir shall one day return somehow.

Tossed this into my tribal Vampires deck for a little added flavor.

They really need new flavor text on this thing. Vampires commenting on this is just...dumb. They have nothing to do with it, they're already dead.

Put it in a red burn deck. After a long game of stasis removal, you've probably played most of your lands. Suddenly, all those burns you've been using get shuffled back into your deck, minus the land. The life is a happy bonus.

Game should come soon after.

Holy crap, I just realized they've revived Baron Sengir from Homelands. I never noticed or paid any attention to the byline, figuring it was Sorin Markov.

So is there any chance we'll see a reprint of Baron Sengir?

Artifact with the best flavor in all of standard. :)

for 3 mana, you get 5 life, and you, most imporantly, recycle your graveyard.

In white, (THE LIFE-GAINING COLOUR), you could've just gained 5 life using 1White mana (Whitesun's Passage, Soothing Balm). That's it. No graveyard reshuffling.

To do that, you needed a Feldon's Cane. Not only that, but this reshuffles itself into your deck. The cane exiles itself.

Doesn't that just blow your mind? It can combine two cards into one card, does the job better than the reshuffler, and doesn't have a colour. Holy!

Also, @ Enemy_Tricolor/Salient, PLEASE don't convince Wizards to make a Return to Homelands set. I don't want to see Sea Troll getting a reprint.

Basically a giant foam middle finger to mill decks.

This thing is soooo sweet! I run a playset in a self mill human reanimator deck. Mill, reanimate your creatures and then pop this off to get all the land and spell you milled in the process. Plus, running so many keeps my life up while I'm waiting to bring back some fatty from the yard.

Wizards! Stop taunting me with Baron Sengir flavor text! Print Return to Ulgrotha block already!

I love it in my Tibalt/Madness deck. Get back the cards I discarded and/or cast, and get back some of the life I lost to black card draw stuff like Bloodgift Demon.

I keep forgetting to buy this.. So good in casual scenarios, especially multiplayer. No accidental decking.

So awesome. It's a little off-flavour for it, but I run it in my zombie horde deck. If you don't mill it out of the zombie deck, then the zombie deck resets and you have to go through the whole thing again. It's brutal if it comes out near the end of the deck.

The thing about depending on this against mill is it's not always easy to draw unless you put in 3 or 4 or have artifact resurrection or retrieval. If you're being milled 2 or 3 or 10 for every card you draw this is more likely to find its way into the graveyard from your library than in your hand.

Unbeatable insurance for any deck, I make a point of putting atleast 1 in each deck I build.

Oh god... People thinking that, if they make a "Return to Homelands" or "Return to Kamigawa", they would fill the set with everything went wrong the first time annoys me like no others. Ferlord, I'm talking to you.

PLEASE don't convince Wizards to make a Return to Homelands set. I don't want to see Sea Troll getting a reprint.

How can you have such a stupid idea?
Maybe they print a second cycle of Eidolon, in the Return to Ravnica? Please, stop this sh!tty kind of though... It's because of you that Wizards wouldn't even think about it!

Acutally, I would like to see one of the two, expecially the Kamigawa one!

For the card: I think it's quite useful. Agains mill it can reshuffle your graveyard, agains aggro it can buy you some time. Versatile and affective. I have to buy a playset...
However, for gaining life, I prefer something that gives me card advantage, like Bottle Gnomes, or something that keeps gain me life every turn, like Ivory Tower... For shuffling, is just perfect!

Works great with Hidden Strings and Ral Zarek which allow you to untap it to be reused before the shuffle condition resolves.
