Wow...I finally found the card that has perfect synergy with Kuldotha Phoenix! That combo alone might be worth making a casual deck involving Kuldotha Phoenix, Slag Fiend, and then just throw in some metalcraft cards.

Forget sliver decks. This could be used with Goblin Welder. Turn 1 Welder, Turn 2 Sliversmith, Turn 3 discard Blightsteel Colossus to get a sliver, then sac the sliver to bring back the colossus.
