I like the two card combos involved with this, especially with cards that have "come into play/comes onto the battlefield" effects. For example: Parisitic Strix, or Tidehollow Strix so you can swing with deathtouch for an extra turn, and Sanctum Gargoyle gives you two creatures from the graveyard. Those little extra effect can win you the game. With Ethurium Sculptor, you can play another artifact this turn for an two less instead of one. Not to mention, you can cascade twice if you play a card with cascade (Enigma Sphinx for example). Glassdust Hulk also gets an extra +1/+1 for the tokens, and Master Transmuter is an amazing way to play a huge card, like Inkwell Leviation or a Sphinx on turn five or six and have one to swing with that turn (and this combo is quite mana saving). Overall, there are tons of combos this card can make with only Alara Block cards. It is amazing for other decks as well, but there ARE amazing options here as well.

Cascade isn't a come into play effect. Cascade actually resolves before the spell becomes a creature.
When you play Enigma Sphinx, you do your cascading, into another cascade creature, and so on, all the while nothing has hit the battlefield. They are all still in the process of being cast.
This means minion reflector would not combo with Enigma Sphinx as well as it does with something like Filigree Angel or Sharuum the Hegemon.
Yes these are large cmc creatures, but can be dropped for 1 blue if u have a Master Transmuter.
the bonus with doing this to Sharuum is when you Transmute a Sharuum to the field for 1 blue, and copy it for 2 colourless, then you get 2 Sharuums coming into play, and 2 targets in your graveyard coming into play as well. when the Sharuums enter the field, they both instantly go to the graveyard due to both being legendary, but you still get to target 2 artifacts in your graveyard, so target the Sharuum that killed itself, and another artifact, say a Filigree Angel, with the token Sharuum.
In the end, you have 3 artifacts out of your graveyard, and 1 Sharuum on the field, all for 2U.
Don't forget that Filigree Angel increases your life too. so if you would rather copy one of those, and they benefit from themselves being artifacts too, just having a Transmuter, Minion Reflector, a couple Borderposts, and the 2 Angels, that's 36 life for 2U. This can be repeated every turn, plus you get to swing with the Filigree Angel token too

dont forget, you get another dragon if you put broodmate dragon onto the field with this.

Same goes for other things, like Captain of the Watch and Seige-Gang Commander

THis card is awesome with the new ally creature type.

All of the allies abilities would be triggered twice whenever you play an ally.
The ability of the ally you just played gets triggered twice... and that same ability gets triggered twice again from the token having the same ability and coming into play also.

I need a few of these.

I'm lucky I got four of these for my zombie deck. I got good trades because of these ally decks eveyone's making.

one of the combo's i managed to think for this card (despite that i know that most of you already know this one) is one with Liliana Vess and Fury of the Horde .

also, i wanted to ask on the ruling of using this card with a creature that has devour:

won't the creature token come into play with the same p / t as the devourer (with the counters, of course)?

ex:

Caldera Hellion eats up 5 creatures so it comes in with +5/+5, won't the token be 8/8 as the counters are there when it enters play?

So, would this work with Pentavus or Tetravus? I know the rulings say it doesn't copy counters already on the creature, but wouldn't it read the card its copying and come into play with the counters like the original?

Ally, which rhymes with shall I, goes with this.

Since you have to sac the token at end of turn anyway, play Ooze Garden and sac the token to that, instead. Also, Doubling Season.

This card rocks!! Anyone that says it doesn't seriously has never used it or they have never used it right! I love it. And the art is awesome!!

@mr_Trickster: Copying something copies everything PRINTED on the card. In the same way that bouncing a creature to your hand and playing it again recalls nothing of its previous existence, copying it doesn't copy counters on it, or enchantments or equipment attached to it. But the token would also have devour, and that would trigger separately. In fact, you could even devour the original. If I'm right, you can devour the token. Since both devour and Minion Reflector's triggered ability are enters-the-battlefield, you put them on the stack in any order and choose which resolves first.

@saveanelf: It doesn't copy the number of counters on it, but it DOES copy "this creature comes into play with 5 +1/+1 counters" and the tokens respond accordingly.

Remember the copied values of X in a mana cost (since it's a creature permanent and no longer a spell) is zero, so your Protean Hydra will auto-die.

It's a pretty niche card, meaning it won't work in every deck. But it can really do well in some.

I've recently thrown together a WB deck, consisting of some groovy ETB abilities (Wall of Omens for card draw, and Angel of Despair for vinidcate), as well as Kokusho for the awesome 20 point life swing when 2 get on the battlefield - which is pretty easy to do with Minion Reflector. So basically, my Wall of Omens get a 2 mana cantrip, Angel of Despair gets a 2 mana extra vindicate, and Kokusho gets a 2 mana way to do a 20 point life swing. Not too shabby!

Alright, so... It gives the token Haste and the Sac ability, right? So, if I drop something like, say, Cemetery Puca, and something dies before the end of my turn, could I not, say, copy the dead creature, effectively over-writing the Haste and Sac effects? Same with Essence of the Wild, because the token would come into play from the effect with Haste, and then be changed INTO an Essence of the Wild, wouldn't the change get rid of the Haste and Sac abilities, effectively giving you a permanent Essence for 2 each time you drop something?

Teferi's Veil anyone? Play your creature, attack with the token, and it phases out and isn't in play during the end step, so it can't be sacrificed...

You would need to KEEP attacking each turn to keep them phased out at your end step, but hey, what do you have to lose?

Question, can I use the minion reflector as a fast effect to copy a Kjeldoran Dead for sacrifice as a means of paying its sacrifice cost?

This card could have some combo's tacked on. Normally paying more then 1 extra for haste is ill advised, and essentially thats what this card brings at its roots. I would not recommend using this card outside of a combo.

The name makes me laugh every time!
Why do I get the feeling this was named the same thing during design/development and they all just got drunk the night they were supposed to give it a real name?

Adding this to my Grimgrin EDH deck. It has a bunch of creatures that don't mind being sacrificed (Kokusho, Keiga, Solemn Simulacrum) and those that like to be copied (Mulldrifter, Fleshbag Marauder)

I can't believe I've never seen this card before. The artwork says it all, it is a must have for casual Unearth decks or Grixis EDH decks.
