Run this in a deck full of tokens (Khalni Gardens, Awakening Zones, etc.) and only a few creatures, and you've got yourself a good deal. In fact, you could even play creatures that aren't even in the colors of your deck, such as Iona, Shield of Emeria.

@ nammertime: completely agreed. Token decks will find this card AMAZING, especially with all the Eldrazi spawn floating around these days. Only problem could be the legendary rule. How sad would it be to flip over two Iona, Shield of Emerias off of this?
Very good cmc for this ability. Could make for an interesting metagame/endgame in some matches!

as for the legendary rule just put one of them in your deck and keep up with how many creatures you have in the deck. im trying out a deck with 7 creatures so ill be sure to have 7 tokens out when i mass polymorph. with the removal of mana burn just sac any extra spawns . hope you arnt looking down the barrel of a deprive, mana leak, or any other counter that will just about end your game.

Anyone notice this isn't exactly Polymorph? Whereas Polymorph had you sacrifice a creature, this shuffles all the creatures into your library. I think this card will be fun to play in multiples, and I look forward to putting it into some strange homebrew decks for fun and profit.

@LTJZamboni:
This card does not shuffle creatures you control into your deck, it exiles them. In fact, Exile is the first word of the rules text. Don't know how you missed that...
Can be interesting in token decks, which is very doable with Rise of The Eldrazi.

I like how it exiles, it makes more sence. I think polymorph should have exiled as well. I dont like it more then polymorph because its slower, (you can have an eldrazi on t3 with polymorph). But i belive this is more fun. Yea this card will find a home in alot of token decks.

For 2 more mana over polymorph you basically get "This spell can't be countered by creature removal". Except for that 2 extra mana you could've played a counter to that creature removal (and if they had enough mana open to play 2 removal spells and you still played polymorph, you deserve to get polymorph fizzled).

I had the potential to create a combo deck with my sealed pool at the prerelease using 3 Squadron Hawks and this. I didn't do it. That will always be the tourney opportunity that got away :P

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mr. Moeller is referencing a lot of his old arts in the picture for this card. I can see at least Isamaru, Hound of Konda, Crush of Wurms, and Bringer of the Red Dawn in the art. The art here is too small for me to be able to discern anything else...
@HairlessThoctar: Thanks, I knew I recognized that minotaur! Just couldn't place it...

@LTJZamboni: What you're reading about shuffling is all of the non-creature cards you reveal when the Mass Polymorph ability goes off. If you exile 3 creatures and you reveal a Land, Land, Creature, Instant, Creature, sorcery, Land, and then a third Creature, the card is telling you that the 5 other cards you revealed (3 Lands, an instant, and a sorcery in this example) have to be shuffled back into your library. The creatures you exiled are permanently exiled. You never get them back in that game.

Why was my first thought Hive Mind in a large group game...
This card is awesome. Polymorph never seemed to be very popular, and even though this costs two more mana at sorcery speed, I think that at LEAST among the casual community this will find a home in decks. It's so much fun! Plus, the art is a million times better than Polymorph's.
See the arcana for Tuesday, July 20th, 2010. Apparently, when you enlarge the picture, you can even make out more creatures, like Kavu Aggressor, Goblin Lackey, and Aven Fisher (though that last one you can actually see without enlarging the art).

I run in in U/W control, and I think it has potential to win some standard tournament's. With all the scry in the new set you can control your deck so well and just wait until turn 8 to play this. While they're busy handling Jace, clones, and Mind control's you just drop Skittering Invasion turn 7 then this turn 8 with a Negate in hand and the board is full of Sphinx's and 1 or 2 Stormtide Leviathans. I don't really see how green ramping creatures could use this effectively, since, you know, you're going to hit more green ramping creatures, but I suppose you may hit a target for removal too.

QUESTION: if i have 5 creatures in play and use mass polymorph ... then turn up clone , Halimar Excavator , Renegade Doppelganger , Jwari Shapeshifter , and Hedron Crab are revealed... 1) if my opponent has no creatures clone dies? 2) i know renegade doppelgager triggers so i have it become halimar excavator 3) jwari dies also? 4) now i have crabs and 2 dead clones?
trying for a m@ss polymorph deck for fun ( i know im going in the right direction with renegade)
I have a question about this card. If you reveal creatures which have abilities "When XXXX enters the battlefield" what order do you perform those abilities? Do you place the creatures one at a time into play or are they all considered to come into play at once so like Garruck's Packleader ability will not fire? Thanks in advance for helping me out.

I really didn't know what to do with this card when I first read it.
But now I have a green/red Eldrazi ramp deck, and I am thinking of splashing blue just to put this card in it. There have been many occasions where all I have had on the board is spawn tokens, and no creatures in my hand (my opponents usually save their removal for the Eldrazi creatures themselves), so being able to put a whole bunch of non-token creatures on the board all at once (along with a refill of spawn tokens if I flip over some drones) seems like a fun sudden death move.
I combo it with mana accel + bestial menace. In my deck it either trades for Coiling Oracles or huge creatures.

I think my record was
Polymorph some combination of Goblin tokens, Plant tokens, Germ tokens and Myr tokens into
Battlesphere ability resolves -> 9 creatures
Chancellor resolves four times. Creature count 9 -> 18 -> 36 -> 72 -> 144, with 135 of them having haste
(detail may be a bit fuzzy but I remember getting 100+)
Usually Mass Polymorph wins the game with 3 tokens out (24 or 28 creatures), and almost always with 4 tokens (48 or 56 creatures).
I chose the Chancellor because while it's still bad to draw one, at least he gives me a Goblin token to help the Polymorph.

Why wasn't this in M12? Was it in M11 just because of the Eldrazi? This is one of my all time favorites, and it's being left behind for Jace's Archivist. I don't get why Wizards worries about creativity in Constructed play and gems like this are taken away. With this leaving when Innistrad comes out, there will be one less beloved and fun deck out there. We fans of Mass Polymorph, Polymorph, Proteus Staff and friends hope one of these will be in Innistrad, or a new variant.

I'm seriously thinking about splashing blue in my otherwise mono-W token deck. I don't run any small creatures (it's all token-producing stuff like GAther the Townsfolk) and getting multiples of stuff like Crovax, Ascendant Hero (of which I only run one, of course), Captain of the Watch and Angelic Overseer seems great

This is a good card. I can't see it getting use in many token decks though, due to the smaller amount of creatures than the possibility of creature tokens.

I have this as a finisher in a janky token-control deck. Every form of control also makes a token or other weak body. I keep thwarting threats while i build an army of pathetic dudes. Opponent even said "You can stop delaying the inevitable", with my annoying but imperfect control only partly slowing him... right before I mass polymorphed into 6 creatures, 3 of which were ridiculous. Then it was over for him.
And that's the trick. By using mass polymorph instead of polymorph, I'm not limited to only putting ridiculous creatures in my deck. I can run other creatures too to help my build-up/defense. I'm fetching so many creatures I'll still hit a ridiculous guy or three. And with the ability to run other creatures (unlike polymorph) I'm not screwed if I don't draw my mass polymorph.

So much fun. I use it in deck with a few Eldrazi, but it has no legendary ones. I'd rather this turn tokens into two Pathrazers of Ulamog which probably won't be blocked.
I've got counters, spot burn and smaller creatures for the earlier rounds to block and get morphed later when I've got the mana.
