It's good but only on creatures that by nature are very hard to remove. Like sapling of colfenor. Slap this on an average creature and you probably just lost 2 cards at once and wasted 8 mana.
Arcunum wings let's you slip this on after it's flown over most of their defenders. if it's being blocked by a small flier that's just a bonus.

This is stupidly good. No actual Eldrazi is as cheap as a 10/11 for and the main reason they aren't broken is because none of 'em have trample. AND you can put this on something with shroud or evasion. Why not just put Totem Armor on this, Wizards?

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.8/5.0)(3 votes)
@Vedalken_Arbiter: No, no, that defeats the whole purpose. Annihilator triggers when the creature attacks. Putting this enchantment on after it's attacked would be such a waste.
@xStrikerx: I'm saying that building a deck around this and Arcanum Wings is useless when there are much better options than Arcanum Wings to bring this into play, so claiming that AW has an advantage because it can be used after blockers are declared is silly. This should trample through blockers and make the enemy sac everything but their blockers anyway.

used this as my main win condition at prerelease. by the time that you reach eight mana, most opponents will have used most burn and removal and usually are topdecking for it. if you pop this in on a 1/1 flier in your first main phase, it is a complete finisher. just to be safe i usually set up protection the turn before with a cheap umbra on the creature thats about to go eldrazi.
@clockwork it has the extra advantages because enchanting creatures risks losing card advantage. if i throw this down and an opponent responds with terminate i just lost two cards for one. by giving it the versatility as well as the extra power over the eldrazi creatures it balances the risks with added power, therefore increacing its playability to around the same level as the eldrazi creatures.

Obviously killer when combined with totem armors, Canopy Cover, or any creatures with innate protection. But really, if you're running enough mana ramp, it's worth playing on its own for the following reasons:
1. Being an aura basically means it has haste. 2. The creature enchanted with this will have what all the Eldrazi lack: trample. 3. As mentioned, by the time you play it your opponent will have used most of his removal. 4. You can play it when opponent is tapped out and attack before he gets a chance to do anything (see #1) 5. Even if it gets removed after one attack, you've gotten your opponent down to a shred of life (or killed some substantial creatures), destroyed 2 of his lands, and made him use a removal, all for 8 mana. 6. You can cast this on one of those Eldrazi Spawn you're bound to have in the deck. Even if you're stupid and it's killed before you can attack, you don't lose card advantage, since they had to waste removal on a token. 7. If you're really that worried about removal, well that's what Vines of Vastwood is for. I wouldn't recommend using Not of This World, since it can't be used to protect the creature as the aura is being cast.
I run two of these in an Eldrazi deck that has a couple of other win conditions; any time I've managed to get one out and attack just once, I've won.

The artwork is incredible. Though it does not quite fit what the card does, that more looks like the last OHSHI---- moment before being Annihilated by Emrakul...
I think this is the most expensive aura ever, and also grants the most powerful bonuses.
I'm going to guess that the reason this gives Trample while none of the Eldrazi do is simple; a creature with this enchantment is basically still itself, just with otherworldly power. The Eldrazi, well yeah they're certainly powerful enough to level an opponent and keep going, but they're the size of a skyscraper. I can't imagine one of those things meeting an army, crushing it, then turning and barreling off over the horizon to hit the Planeswalker over the next hill.

It's pretty simple: mechanics are more important than flavor. A card that expensive, and with all the drawbacks of an aura, needs the evasion to make it more appealing. Plus, it's no fun to buff up your creature so obsenely and yet be unable to smash your opponent in the face with it.
