Aura Gnarlid don't care. Aura Gnarlid don't give a f***. Aura Gnarlid will take your Rancor and use it to beat face.

Play this on turn two with the help of a Llanowar Elf or something of the like. If you play another land on the third turn, you can give this guy both a Rancor and a Ancestral Mask. Attack with a 8/6 Trample on the thrid turn. Kablam. And don't get me started on the fourth turn.
So my friend attacked me on turn 3 with a 11/5 creature, which was of course unblockable since I didn't have any creature with power of 11 or more - how could I, getting a creature that huge on third turn is not so easy. Without removal at the time I lost on turn 4.

@Pastilli: that's my aura deck, except that I use Utopia Sprawl rather than Elves.
Oh, and I found out that casting Rancor on this cutie is the MtG equivalent of feeding your Mogwai after midnight. If you didn't get it, go see Gremlins (the 80's movie) right now.
This card is extremely useful for my Aura forest deck, (30 card deck I made with my friend) and it's a very good one if you make an Aura deck. I got it up to 11/11 with Wreath of Geists and Savage Silhouette. EPIC! :D

Lol, greediest thing you could do is slap this in some weird 4-colr deck with Elder Mastery

Even without weird aura amassing; his evasion is some of the best in the game when pumped; making him a relevant finisher with any green pump. However I'll participate by mentioning land-auras..
@Tomtomat Use Wild growth instead of a Llanowar Elf for even more damage. Just hope your opponent doesn't go the removal option.

Ahhh, the memories... this guy was in one of my very first serious decks. It was a Bant deck, chock-full of Pacifisms and Mind Controls and green pump-up auras. I beat major face with this card on numerous occasions. The nostalgia...
