Intersting card. Troll shroud is always fun, but on a 1/1 body may not be all that great. Then again it can't be targeted so it can always be beefed up with enchantment auras.

Couple this with Favor of the Overbeing. A 3/3 opponent-shroud, vigilance, flying Bogle ain't too shabby on turn 2.

I completely agree with SavageBrain. There are better one-drops, but troll shroud is always tasteful nonetheless.

Besides, i love the artwork for some odd reason.

For me, this is the best one-drop ever. Couldn't do without him.

That's right, you can enchant this little guy all day long! He's especially effective with Favor of the Overbeing. Do that on your 2nd turn and your opponent will most likely start sweating. Really, Favor was made specifically for this guy. :)

I love this wet littel creature. The artwork is great. What a cute and handsom fellow. He can be really annoying for the opponent if you play all sorts of auras and equipment on him. Using Gigantiform is fun.

Pretty great for a 1/1 for 1 mana, since most creatures you can get at that stage aren't particularly game changing, besides maybe essence warden and birds of paradise.

A troll shrouded 1/1 for 1? Sure, why not?

My cousin seems to be able to get a Celestial Mantle attached to this little guy half the time he uses his Slippery Boggle deck and, with Traveler's Cloak, I immediately start swearing.

A great target for any enchantments, but I think Silhana Ledgewalker is worth the 1 extra mana.

I got this Force of Willed on turn 0 during a Vintage tournament.

Oddly enough, despite how I built my deck, I did not draw into another creature for about the next 6-8 turns ( my opponent was playing a threshold control deck). What was he to think other than that him countering my Bogle was the right play?

So he was contemplating what to side in for game 2. He wasn't sure about anything- except the Bogle. So he showed me his Engineered Explosives that he sided exclusively for the Bogle he saw.

Game 2, I miraculously got him on the ropes thanks to a Punishment for 1 killing 3 Nimble Mongeese! I got to the point where my next attack would kill him, so what did he draw next turn to kill both of my 3 mana cost creatures? Yes, of course- he topdecked his Engineered Explosives and killed my dudes. That was the last of 5 turns and the match went to time. He won the first game and we drew on the second.

Slippery Bogle is serious F&%KING Business!

Truly it is an amazing thing that such a humble creature is such a great candidate to become an Eldrazi.

"This card originally had shroud, but that didn't allow its Aura (Favor of the Overbeing) to be played on it—a big no-no, as that's part of the fun of the one-drop hybrid creature. So we changed it to what R&D affectionately refers to as troll-shroud." - Mark Rosewater

I love that the card got a boost due to the fact that the obvious design made it unfun. I would play 8 if they made it a companion. My personal favorite aura is Verdant Embrace, and this is a great choice for it.

He's like, "ROFL ROFL ROFL Imma stick my tongue out like I'm saying "nyana nyana boo-boooooo, you can't blade me""

THE KEYWORDING HAS COMMENCED.

Knew it was coming, but I don't like it. Makes them all seem less special now, and "hexproof" just seems contrived compared to the monosyllabic "shroud", which is strictly worse (unless you get mind-slavered).

I fucking LOVED this card. Anything with Blue or Green had a player set of these it in. One of the reasons I love Green or Blue to this day. Now that I think of it, its probably the reason I'm so attached to Canopy Cover.

For some reason, the new elf (M12, so I can't autocard it) isn't as appealing to me. It's the same stats, only Green, keyworded, and an elf... ah never mind. I just hate elves.

@Fictionarious
Yeah, I agree. I really hope they don't reprint him, just so the don't put the new keyword on him. 'Hexproof' sounds so... I don't know, Harry Potter. It really sucked the mystique out of the ability. Hell, I'd have been happy with 'Troll Shroud'. At least it sounds better.

I really love the flavour and art of Slippery Bogle. If they released a poster of the art, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

Magic has lots of silly-sounding/looking creatures throughout its history, but the fact that this one has actually started popping up in serious Modern decklists cracks me up. It's one thing to get beaten down by Tarmogoyf, but I can barely imagine the exquisite agony of humiliation one suffers from losing to a Slippery Bogle. Granted, it usually is suited up with the likes of Rancor and Daybreak Coronet, but getting Boggled just sounds awful. It might even be worse than getting Kuted.

Your own Hornet Sting, that is.

I don't mind silly artwork now and then, but this one is a bit overboard. The tongue-sticking out combined with the body proportions. Especially since people actually play this card.

Also known as Slippery MF Bogle among my friends. This guy never fails.

The only problem I have with this is that it was errata'd to have hexproof. If it wasn't, it would still have hexproof against an Archetype of Endurance.
Beautiful card overall though.
