Yup, so I grabbed three of these in a draft (along with 5 Auramancers) thinking they were functionally identical to Spirit Link. Once I read the card, it turns out that playing them on your opponents creatures actually gives your opponent life. OOOPS. Hadn't misread a card that bad since the time I drafted 5 Assault Strobes thinking they were instants.
This thing sucks, sucks, sucks. If it GAVE you 1 mana, then it might be playable. They should've reprinted Spirit Link, but they couldn't since it wouldn't have their Lifelink keyword and would just confuse people.

I had two lifelink cards during the prerelease, and they helped get me into the top four. Never underestimate the power of lifelink to turn the tide of the game in limited.

Lifelink and Bloodfire Colossus are one of those cases.

When a creature has life link when ever it deals damage you gain that much life..... Like if i gave lord of the pit lifelink.... what would happen ?

@ dbp1002: i love the idea you have with Lord of the Pit... just make sure you have more than 7 life each turn or some other effect (e.g. Platinum Angel or Platinum Golem), or you die.

people underestimate lifelink. sure, it isn't spirit link, but this can and will save your butt more than you'll admit to.
also, if you have a creature ability that hits everything, this suddenly becomes
W: gain a shitload of life while killing everything.

I think this card is brilliant. It doesn't do much, but its just ONE MANA. For an ability that could potentially save you in the end game. I like to pair it with Kokusho, the Evening Star or Luminate Primordial.

@dbp1002 @raptorman333: Problem with running Lord of the Pit with this is that his damage dealt is dependent on you having no other creatures that you can sacrifice. If it was an option of 'sacrifice another creature' or 'Lord of the Pit deals 7 damage to you' then Lifelink would be a good way around it. But as is, only good when he's your only creature, so Platinum Angel or Platinum Golem won't help you.
