Hey, adrianxmaturu, if you were thinking of attaching Shield of the Oversoul to Emperial Archangel then your going to have a problem, seeing as she has shroud, and can't be targeted by spells or abilities, which means your Shield of the Overwsoul would fizzle when it trys to attach to the Emperial Archangel. Therefore, in order to make you pretty little angel indestructable, you will have to be more cunning. Use Mycosynth Lattus and Darksteel Forge. The Lattus makes all permanents artifacts, and the Forge makes all YOUR artifacts indestructable, thus makeing your pariahish angel an indestructable game winner, if your opponent doesn't mill you to death, or play a card that sais that they win the game, or if they play a wrath card that exiles all creatures/artifacts. Or if they target you with a spell such as evacuation. lol

Archangelion, with sovereigns you would be able to enchant Empyrial Archangel even though it has shroud. You just have the angel attack alone, sovereigns ability activates and then you put the aura on the angel. The aura enters the battlefield already attached, it does not target the angel so it bypasses shroud.
Realy solid card , i made an deck around it. and when its out without beign destroyed (and hands are usually empty by then) it attacks and i fetch mythical proportions to make it a 13/14 trample for 6, or it is out with uril to fect runes of the deus to create a 10/10 doublestrike trampler, both scenarios is game over for my opponent.

Can't believe it doesn't have flying. But other than that, oh yes. I want to put it into my W/U deck right now, particularly since it has Steel of the Godhead in it. But still; I'm bummed about the no-flying bit. Give it flying and make it a 1/7 with Defender or something. I mean, it's blue...and a cloud.

With proper mana accel you can get this, and another creature or 2 out fairly quickly. Then, attack with said creature, and attach: A. Celestial Mantle if no one is able to block, or B. Gigantiform, and then on the subsequent turn attach A.
Watch lifegain accelerate to epic proportion. May wanna pack a few Vines of Vastwood though in case of hate.
I'll go along with everyone else and subtract .5 on the rating for no flying. How can they not be flying if they're literally in the air.../facepalm WotC

Rules question: So if you attach Eldrazi Conscr iption to this card, the Annihilator ability wouldn't trigger on that combat phase, because he's already attacked, right?
On the other hand, if you have Finest Hour in play, you'd get another attack phase, which would let you grab another Aura and the Annihilator ability would then trigger during the second combat phase, correct?

A lynch-pin of one of the most competitive decks in Standard right now. Absolutely destroys worlds when combined with Eldrazi Con***ion.
Strong body keeps it from getting nuked too easily, and the Exalted is just gravy compared to its insane ability.

It doesn't matter if your opponent is playing removal, since you're getting the aura for free.
On another note, pay no attention to the lack of flying - I believe the way that the current deck works is that you attack with a Birds of Paradise and throw the Eldrazi aura on them on the same turn that you cast these guys, which thanks to Lotus Cobras and such can be as early as turn 3 or 4.

Sovereigns is a wonderful exalted card that works in both an aura/buff deck and exalted (of course, a mixture works quite well). The lack of flying isn't a main concern, since you'll either be swinging with other creatures or be able to put whatever aura you want that has flying on Sovereigns itself. Devastating with Eldrazi Con***ion, a combo which comes out on turn five if no mana ramp is used (though exalted decks with green have easy mana ramping capabilities). 5/5

Use with Renegade Doppleganger & the aforementioned Eldrazi aura to attack for 26 on turn 6 by making an a copy of Sovereigns when it comes out. I've pulled it off on turn 4 with a Springleaf Drum and a Mox Opal out.

Question:
I'm currently trying out a bant con***ion deck and then this scenario played out. My attacking birds of paradise (with sovereigns in play) got bolted before edlrazi con***ion came into play. my friend said that was possible because it was on the stack. is that true?

Does Geist of St. Traft benefit from exalted since the Angel comes along with it when it attacks?

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.5/5.0)(1 vote)
@TexTiger: Yes, Saint Traft gets the aura. You declare him as your sole attacker, then three things happen: 1. Exalted trigger from Sovereigns 2. Aura tutor trigger from Sovereigns 3. Angel trigger from Saint Traft Since Sovereigns only checks if a creature is attacking alone as of the end of the declare attackers step, it won't see the Angel in time and it'll let you search up an aura.

Very, very strong.
"But it still generates card disadvantage! What if they nuke your spirit?" Then fetch an enchantment that gives it hexproof. Problem solved.
In the right deck, this is a beastly enabler.

I wish it hadn't been so easily broken. It's a nice card otherwise.
@TexTiger- yes, GoST gets the Exalted bonus because the Exalted check is run as soon as you declare attackers, and the Angel token appears just after that, but it does not get the Exalted bonus (or the Aura).

You dont even have to put this in an exalted or aura deck. if you catch your opponent tapped out, drop this and swing with one of your utility creatures, slapping Eldrazi Cons for the win. Kinda overpowered.
@DacenOctavio Im guessing you forgot to mention you cheated this into play somehow.. Because you cant enchant something with shroud when you cast the enchantment.

Ex. of a perfect u/w spirit lifegain (modern) turn: You have this, Boon Reflection, Cradle of Vitality, Drogskol Captain, Wall of Reverence, and some random spirit (assuming you are playing a u/w spirit lifegain, as intended) with unblockable (ex. Latch Seeker) who is at, for the sake of this mock turn, a 7/5 from a little help from cradle and the captain on the battlefield, and you are at 20 life:
-Start by attacking with the 7/5, exalted triggers from this, making it an 8/6. -Search your library for Celestial Mantle and attach it to the 8/6 (now at 11/9). ~With hexproof and unblockable, there is a very low chance your target will be able to stop the hit. -Celestial Mantle triggers, also triggering Boon Reflection, so thats 20 x 4, totaling to 80 life with an increase of 60. - Pay 2 for cradle, and put 60 +1/+1 counters on that 11/9. you now have a 71/69 spirit that is unblockable with hexproof. -If this doesn't make your opponent scoop, remind them that its your endstep, Wall of Reverence triggers, also triggering boon, for a grand total of (71x2) 142 more life. -pay 2 for cradle, put 142 +1/+1 counters on your 71/69. -In one turn, you went from 20 life with a 7/5, to 222 life and a 212/210 (213/211 next time it attacks) who is unblockable and hexproof for 4 mana. If your opponent hasn't scooped by end of turn, they're braindead.

Funny little trick for insta-win in edh is rite of replication this guy and attack with any creature, that's+5/+5, 5 enchantment tutors, and a very angry opponent.
Try something like Auramancer's guise, corrupted conscience, protective bubble, and then whatever the hell you want because that's already +11/+11 unblockable shrouded infect.
Spectacular topdeck and win condition in my EDH enchantment. If I need Bear Umbra, Eldrazi Con***ion, Corrupted Conscience, Armadillo Cloak, Spirit Mantle, Ethereal Armor... instant search. Crazy that its second ability triggers regardless of summoning sickness.

It's pretty fun! If the player isn't playing too much removal I can usually get a pretty awesome creature out by third turn.
I run this in my Zur Edh. xD
5/1/2009 The attacking creature is not targeted by either this ability or the Aura, so a creature with shroud can be enchanted this way.
While reading CAN be difficult, it should at least be attempted. adrianxmaturu's combo is not only legit, but hilarious. Well done.
