I was just about to use this in my Grand Architect/Treasure Mage deck. Glad they reprinted it to make it easier to get.

This card deserves the Mythic rating. An excellent finisher for creature decks.

They...reprinted this?!?!

This is a fantastic reprint for EDH players and truly deserving of its Mythic status.

Ah, another mythic I will not be happy to draw (okay, except once, for set completion)...

TS block reprints are the best reprints. This is such a crazy card, especially for token or creature-based EDH.

I'm sad that they reprinted this, but only because I used to be the only one in my group that had one of these, and I felt like a badass. Still, it gives me an opportunity to look for a foil one, since the older print foils of these are HARD to find.

In Commander this is a great card if your commander is large enough. In most other formats, this is too slow.

I love it when Future Sight cards are reprinted for some reason ^-^

This is only a decent card in EDH. All other formats it's virtually unplayable. You already have to have a strong board presence and beefy creatures for this to work and then it's just becomes redundant and unnecessary. Also, bad to pull in sealed. This set seems to be chock full of cards like this.

I got the card at pre-release and was AMAZING. even though it took a naturalize or 2, it was GREAT while it lasted! best of all its colorless so you can use it in any deck! 5/5!

Just because they kept the flavor text, I think they should print an Akroma variant called Akroma, Merciless Angel. Maybe not, though.

May see play in Extended with blue artifact mana acceleration(?).

The only downsides to this in EDH is that it's colorless and Legendary (so any player can play it and if someone else does, they blow up) and artifact removal is so easy to come by.

It is pretty awesome, but there is one problem.... It doesn't make creatures into threats, it only makes threats into larger threats. if you have a 1/1 it becomes cool, but that little wimp isn't gonnna be very much stronger after an akroma's memoria. However, if you have an 8/8 beatin' face, he starts being a very real threat and ignores the usual "dies to removal" and "it needs trample or else it'll get chump blocked" arguments. 4/5, because it's really just a win-more card

Expensive to play in draft/limited, but when it comes out, it's a lot of fun. For you. Not your opponent.

Pro tip: Put 4 of these in every deck you have with creatures.

★★★☆☆ (3.5/5.0) (4 votes)
@Lotsofpoopy That's a horrible idea, it's a legendary with a cmc of 7. If you are losing, it is probably going to be too little too late ...

Still a great bomb though for people who have it! There are a bunch of 5 cmc bombs out there but, in certain decks (Control or Ramp Decks) I could see this being played non-competitively.

@Lotsofpoopy: Oh, I get it. "Pro tip." Because you're a pro. Like you've said on every other card you've commented on. I know that because I'm a pro at reading the words on a computer screen, just like you. In fact, I'm such a pro that I feel the need to tell everyone else about it. I'm such a pro at being humble.

The only downside to this in EDH is that it's not an Equipment. Because Stoneforge Mystic has thoroughly and obliquely broken that Subtype for all time.

Many funsies can be had by all sorts of subcombos just to get it out, and then combo with pretty much any assortment of creatures in MAGIC (even Thrull or Eldrazi Spawn tokens, but probably not Germ Tokens...wait, no, Intangible Virtue says Germs work too!) :P
Because of the Haste, playing this card should honestly win you the game, or give you enough advantage to close the options down to 2:

1. You win the Game
2. Opponents all beat you up, and you get to play Kingmaker with your attacking the turn before you die.

@Pentavite: Because the idea of Phage's Memorial is utterly terrifying.

While it's clearly quite powerful, this is mostly a win-more card. At 7, it cannot win a game on its own when it hits the table, unless you have at least one creature on the field, and ideally of reasonable size to get the most out of its abilities. This is also hilarious with 0/1 Eldrazi Spawn tokens (I know they have their own Eldrazi Monument, I just find it highly amusing to strike first, trample, and lifelink for 0)!

I find that one of the abilities that is often overlooked is the lifelink - this can swing games in your favor by messing up the combat math. Combine this with possibly making your entire army unblockable (if you are playing against red or black, or someone who is short on flyers), and this can make for a massive life swing, allowing you to absorb a hit from your opponent you otherwise would not be able to survive. It also makes attacking into your forces a potentially risky proposition. However, there aren't many situations when you can play this while behind, and outright win the game directly as a result.

Regardless of that, though - this is a fun card to play and a very unfun card to play against. Used correctly it can be extremely potent for the Timmy in all of us.

In any creature heavy deck this can easily be a death sentence provided you have a decent standing army already. Don't have artifact destruction or a counter the turn this hits the field? Then god help you.

I got this card for free from a friend. Now i use it against him every time we play and I've won every game since! It's a great card and well worthy of it's mythic rare title!
JaxsonBateman
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@BKG007 - that's not correct. The dragon tokens you put out with Utvara Hellkite can't then be declared as attackers, as you only get one chance to declare attackers, all your attackers are declared at this point, and any creatures that enter after this point - such as the dragons from Utvara's trigger - can't then be declared as attackers.

Phage's Memorial 7
Legendary Artifact
Creatures you control have Deathtouch.

Whenever a creature deals damage to you, destroy that creature. It cannot be regenerated. Whenever a creature you control dies, you lose life equal to it's power.

Tap: Destroy Target creature, it cannot be regenerated.

"Do unto others as they would unto you." -Memorial inscription.
-------------------

Anyway, I love this card. Fun, big, flashy. Its everything Timmy would want it to be. I run one in a token EDH deck (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite) and it feels just the way a seven costed legendary should when it hits the field. Not broken by any means, but capable of pushing you to victory and very thematic. I just love the inscription there.

1)march of the machines.
2) this is strictly better than akroma. it costs less, can get into decks of any color (like green decks that have 7 mana turn 4) and gives you way more than 6/6 with those abilities. done it with omnath, locus of mana and primordial hydra- boom.

edit: not strictly better. sorry for throwing this around.

I'd love if they made an Unhinged card called 'Public Vandalism' with the exact same art as this card but with a big "PHAGE RULZ!!" in spray paint across the front of the statue.
