Not an entire red version of Flametongue Kavu, but pretty much devastating consider the -1/-1 ***ers can't be removed, and can be proliferated. The only downside is that there have to be another creature in play or he ends up eating the dung himself.

Believe the hype. This might be one of the most satisfying black creatures in years. It just feels so right. It kills most things, and has a real effect on the rest. And (and this is the important part for me) it doesn't feel overpowered. Perfection!

I got this card in the prerelease... I didn't run it though as I decided to go almost all artifacts and two green cards.

My opponent cast Mul Daya Channelers, on my turn I cast Skinrender targeting the Channelers, he cast Vines of Vastwood and I had to kill my own creature because they were the only ones on the field. :(

I'm going to love throwing this down with a mimic vat on the board. At first glance, this is my favorite card from the entire set.
edit: @ LiXinjian if Murdershot21's opponent cast vines in response to the skinrender, it would resolve before skinrender comes into play. the target of skinrenders ability wouldn't have been chosen yet. if vines was cast in response to skinrenders ability going on the stack, then you would be right.

Love this card, the ability is more than worth the additional black mana required to summon it, and it is great for cutting indestructibles down to a size that you can manage with Grasp of Darkness or something.

That's terrifying. Oh, no, not the artwork, that there's a black creature in standard rated higher than Vampire Nighthawk. That said, it's not too hard to understand why it wins out by a whole .006 points, it's certainly just as annoying, if a bit less prevalent.

Finally, Wizards! Zombie tribal hadn't gotten any good new cards since the Alara block. It does seem as if it should've been a Horror, though. Zombies are undead versions of things that were once alive, but if this Sheoldred designed him, it was never anything else to begin with, right? Confusing. I can't really complain as it allows my Zombie deck to off Vampire Nighthawk with the greatest of ease.
Edit: On another note, I just realized this is an updated version of the Urza's Legacy card Phyrexian Defiler.
I love the art for these phyrexians, they remind me of the xenomorphs from the alien franchise :P

I love the art, but I agree with Wanderer25 They should have made him more zombie looking...something like the Phyrexian Defiler. A future reprint could correct it, but I'll miss the art...
I've been running this card in my Mikaeus the Unhallowed EDH deck since DKA came out and just using it as spot removal. I've only just realized that this card can be paired with a sacrifice outlet for infinite sacrificing. I feel kind of stupid.

This zombie is a champ. I have him in my black/green control deck. I cast beast within on my opponent’s threats, then cast this guy on my turn to negate the 3/3 beast token. It also fits the casting curve into this strategy very nicely. If casting this guy is wrong... I don't wanna be right!
5 stars for such a great creature. He is an auto-include in all zombie decks, and his ETB ability is absolutely terrific for gaining control of creature battles. The best part about it is that they are -1/-1 counters, so even if he can't kill it, he can still permanently weaken it.
Awesome, fantastic creature, the best I've seen in a long time.

This particular Creature enters the battlefield bursting through the chest of target creature (hence the -3/-3). Some argue it's not a creature but if it originated from another creature's vital organs it still counts as having been mutated into a separate lifeform (so it could in fact be a Zombified creature of what originally used to be the target creature's vital organs). The MTG software @ games could stimulate this effect by making this card enter the game literally ripping through target creature card in play (just don't do it in a real game with real cards - unless you have a replacement) :p
