So MIrrans have their own take on Living Weapon. Cool.

This is very beatdown efficient piece of gear.

More like an aura than an equipment unless you have cool things to sac. Ichor Wellspring comes to mind.

Also fun with Furnace Celebration. Just re-equip it to the same creature over and over if you have enough artifacts on the field to win the game.

In Limited Put It On A Flier Like Gust Skimmer Or A Thopter Token And Its Over Pretty Quick

Pft. I love this thing. So much so. I would love to physically have one hanging on my wall. It's a steam powered sledge hammer! Few things have ever been so unnecessary. On top of that, it's just a great card. I've been running an artifact sacrificing red deck since scars and this just fits perfectly. Along with Ichor Wellsprings and Sire Myrs.

Run with infect creatures...

Man, I think this is gonna be a beast for infect in limited. I like it a lot! This might even do something in standard or constructed also, you never know. It just seems to be really good! But I like how they made it to where you have to have a creature out on the battlefield to use it. Just seems really good. We'll see soon!

People are all like "deeugh you have to sacrifice an artifact to equip, deughg that's soooo bad"
Ichor Wellspring was made for this kind of thing.

It's funny because if you only have one creature you can't use it. Interestingly, it is also a free sac engine that provides power for beatdown. That could be fun.
*EDIT:
On first viewing I thought it said creature, not artifact... Still fun to play.

I believe when enters the battlefield you can attach it without the sac cost. That comes either by moving it or attaching it later. It's a bomb early game if so.

Heres a prime example of where you'd want to Acquire-a-Squire ;)
When it enters the battlefield, something gets +3/+1. This card is just so amazing. It enables fast beatdown in limited, and if the creature you equipped at first dies, you can later turn your useless artifacts into +3/+1 buffs.
Thought: You can sacrifice it to itself, right? Not to use as an equipment, as it would cease to exist before it became equipped. I'm thinking more to take advantage of Fangren Marauder's nifty lifegain.

Anyone who rated this poorly needs to reread the first two lines. As soon as it comes into play you attach it to a creature you control. Pulling this for limited infect is amazing. Imagine a curve as simple as this:
As stated before, Ichor Wellspring is a decent target for saccing...but in the late game (or with mana ramping), I like Spine of Ish Sah. 7 mana for targeted destruction is kinda expensive, but recurring destruction is somewhat rare.

Favourite equipment of all time. It's just that quick and hard-hitting.
Ornithopter doing no damage? Give it this. I've taken many people to zero before using a helicopter holding a hammer !

This thing will come out of nowhere and ruin your opponent's day in an infect deck.

Outstanding card; I try to fit it into pretty much all my decks. Its free attach plus low mana cost means it can create a nasty attacker out of pretty much anything; and, because it simply has an equip cost, you can recycle one Piston Sledge if you happen to have two which are no longer equipped. While I wouldn't build a deck out of this ability, it gives a piston sledge a leg up over some enchantments, such as Claws of Valakut which are gone if anything happens to the enchanted creature. This, combined with some low-power high-toughness creatures in Mirrodin, such as Plated Seastrider , or with the wonderful first strike capability of things like White Knight , is a fantastic card.

Neat design. I like this concept of auto-equipping as it enters the battlefield almost more than i love the concept of living weapons. (I was also a fan of Obsidian Battle-Axe when it came out.)

Yet another card that combos with Puresteel Paladin. Man...what a great card. First equip is free and automatic, and if you have metalcraft with the ole Paladin, you can get around sacrificing an artifact to equip it to something else.

Very funny and flavoury card.
Frankly I prefer Grafted Wargear because it gives a +0/+1 and doesn't cost any artifact to equip. It's also more dangerous so, for me, more funny. I like them both, however...
If you don't think this card is good consider this; Plague Stinger plus Piston sledge equals four poison counters on turn three, give it Giant Growth on the next turn and swing for a turn four win.

I can't think of any other equipment that can give your creature such a big boost so quickly. Put Piston Sledge on akor duelist or kitesail apprentice and you've got a pretty credible turn three threat. If the need to reequip arises then you just rely on Puresteel Paladin giving your sledge "equip ".

Negative 5 out of 5 stars for the dogging ugly goblin. A goblin will ruin any artwork.

I believe this is Homage to Grafted Wargear (despite the other grafted equips that were printed.) Why? because it's a T3 buff that requires things to die to move and it attaches for free the first time. The way things have to die to move it is different, but still, IMO it's homage; and they're both awesome.

Ridonkulous on something like Cystbearer or Tangle Mantis in limited.
T1 - Land -> Signal Pest
T2 - Land 2 -> Ichorclaw Myr
T3 - Land 3 -> Piston Sledge -> Swing for 5 poison
T4 - Land 4 -> Hand of the Praetors -> Swing for game
