ETB artifacts is how you can get max value out of this, but it can also be used for repeatable evolving among other things.
Oh, and FIRST.

You know, people go on and on about how Man-o'-Wars aren't "true" Jellyfish, where are the people arguing about the taxonomic implications of this monstrosity?
Oh, and good card.

I like it more as an Uncommon, but the Rare slot would actually totally fit to this card as well. I mean, despite being printed three times as an Uncommon by now, it still looks and feels Rare to me.
In that case, it would probably have changed the attitude among some players and made it a rather disliked "undercosted at high cost"-kind of Rare.

My first attempt to make a good Artifact deck involved this and Sludge Strider. :P
And that's just a few Esper ones I can name off the top of my head. There's many more applications to this.
And still, it's a 4/3 flyer for 3. IN BLUE. Its drawback is almost never a drawback.
And even if you are to complain of that, you can always just use a Frogmite or something to keep it going for free.

@Stuflames: The answer is simple. This creature, contrary to a Man'o'war, is an entirely fantastic creation, so they can call it whatever they want to call it, unlike real, living creatures. That's at least how I think the majority of us proficient in taxonomy think about it, at least.

This combos really well with Ichor Wellspring / Prophetic Prism .

Baleful Strix is the most synergistic nowadays I imagine. You get a card every turn while having a nasty blocker. Your Esperzoa may attack for 4 evasive without worry.

Run with Neurok Transmuter? If this is your only artifact, the Transmuter can make it so that you don't have to return anything.

The flavor text makes it seem like you should be sacrificing the artifacts instead... unless the ability represents the artifacts somehow running away as this thing floats closer?

Run it with things like:
Parasitic Strix
Sanctum Gargoyle
Tidehollow Sculler
Sludge Strider
Sphinx Summoner
Sharuum, the Hegemon
