This card is awesome for EDH. Especially wish so many good Persist creatures! and so many ways to make expendable troops.

Wow. So you can use this to kill like a Bile Urchin and get two Prince of Thralls into play? Hahaha what?

This would go great with Buried Alive.

Wow! This is suprising! There are barely any comments on this powerful card! This is one of the strongest recursion spells out there. I mean - You get TWO creatures with this thing!

This card needs more comments, it's amazing.

Yeah, this is pretty awesome. Low costed, too. Use with Leyline of Anticipation!

Discard two fatties to your graveyard with Volrath the fallen, attack with a pumped up Volrath, Victimize after your attack, and get the two fatties into play. Pro-tip: One of the discarded fatties is Volrath the fallen.

I'm surprised how little mana this costs, heck it's even splashable. Gotta love it.

@Goatllama

Leyline of Anticipation wouldn't do you much good with this since the creatures come into play tapped. Sure, you could just use it to drop it at the end of your opponents turn to make sure they have no mana to counter it, but that's not so much a combo as just convenience. If you want to get two surprise blockers you're going to need some way to untap them.

@Pinto331

I think that Goatllama meant to say use it at the end of your opponent's turn so the creatures can attack on his, not so that they're surprise blockers, and by turn 3, i'd expect to have my Amulet of Vigor out, just to make sure they're ready for anything.

Possibly one of my favorite cards. I use it in my zombie deck in combination with Buried Alive or Zombie Infestation. Zombie Infestation is great, because you discard the two monsters you want, for no mana cost, then get a 2/2 Zombie, then sacrifice that 2/2 Zombie for Victimize next turn and get your two monsters out.

This cards ruling brings up a good point. You can summon B.F.M. on turn 2 in theory.
Turn 1: Swamp, Dark Ritual, Buried Alive for both pieces of B.F.M.
Turn 2: Swamp, any 1 drop, Dark Ritual again, Victimize.
You have 1 turn to destroy it or get 3 chump blockers. :D

Urza be damned , the fact that this was an Uncommon makes me laugh . What makes me laugh more is that I have one copy of it .

If it were printed today ... Hell , I don't think i would be printed by today's standards ( I sure hope so . I'm looking at you , Jace ! )

What's there more to say , use it in Reanimator , use it in Everybody mills deck , use it in The Mimeoplasm EDH , and laugh and laugh !

It does what for how much mana? Where the hell was I when Urza block was printed?

Buried Alive with Narcomoeba and your two favorite fatties. One of the many ways to exploit this amazing card. My friends hate it with a passion. I've been having fun with this card ever since I got the Urza's Saga Tombstone deck many years ago.

Amulet of Vigor along with a few undying creatures for sacs. Good stuff here.

Possibly one of the most powerful single use Reanimate spells there is.
Also, I love how well this works so with Zombie Infestation.
"These two huge creatures are worthless right now; might as well discard them. Oh hey, a zombie token..."

A short list of combos this makes live:
Seedborn Muse and Geth, Lord of the Vault
Mikaeus the Unhallowed and Triskelion
Deadeye Navigator and Palinchron
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
Kederekt Leviathan and Restoration Angel
Saffi Eriksdotter and Angel of Glory's Rise
Kikki-Jikki, Mirror Breaker and Pestermite

In fact, you can use this for an FTK with the right hand. Swamp, Dark Ritual, Dark Ritual, Putrid Imp, discard Mikaeus and Triskelion, Victimize the Imp. You'll even have a mana left over for Force Spike

It would feel pretty rad sacrificing Homura, Human Ascendant to bring back a couple of fatties... say, Elesh Norn and a Grave Titan. Ooh, or better yet, sacrifice Eternal Witness to bring back a couple Sun Titans... having one return the Witness, who in turn returns Victimize. Card advantage, anyone?

Step one: Buried Alive choosing a self-reanimator (Bloodghast/Reassembling Skeleton), Jin-Gitaxias, and Vorinclex.
Step two: Bring back your self-reanimator.
Step three: Victimize
Step four: Use ice on eye to reduce swelling.

Well first off, wow. I don't have anything original to add about this card's power level.
The flavour on this sucks though. Victimize? That sounds like a soft removal spell, not graveyard recursion. They wasted a lot of good card names in those days.

@TPManW: I think the point is that the sacrifice is the one being victimized. In this particular case, Xantcha would have been...repurposed...into putting two previously dead Phyrexians back into operation.
