Even without Zombies anywhere in sight, this is a fantastic splash into any Human deck that can find room for it. I'll be AT LEAST sideboarding this into a lot of decks.

Combos with humans, cards that change other players creatures to zombies, and cards that change "humans" on the angel into a different type. If you can flicker it in and out in some way, I guess it can do some nasty stuff in the right deck. But seven mana for a 4/6 flyer that only does something in very specific situations in very specific decks ain't good.

This such an insult to Zombie Apocalypse. For 1 more mana, they get to exile, and a 4/6 body as a bonus as well. Not to mention that this is lighter on the coloured mana symbols as well.

I call racism.

Five Colorless and Two White, that is a mana cost scarred into the mind of standard right because of Elesh Norn. The double Anthem and Double Anti Anthem is wreaking havoc on everyone right now, even if your creatures survive being brought to their knee's by the grand cenobite, they most likely are now far outclassed by your opponent's creatures. Assuming the Frites deck survives rotation now at m13 and after the release of Return to Ravnica, I can see this being played within a G/W Human deck that focus upon ramping and having very good enter the battlefield effects, I would pick up four of these, this one could be a sleeper card that does not show it's full potential for a while, but this card is just too good for it to not find a home in a deck
solid 3.9 but the future may raise that higher

This card loves humans with Soulbond. You can resurrect them all, then bond them to your shiny new angel, and each other!

Glorious bomb in limited.

Reverse Zombie Apocalypse. Literally.

I wonder how this is supposed to work flavorwise though.
During a Zombie Apocalypse, human dies, then gets revived as some foul, rotten creature.
But how do you "undo the undeath"? This angel must be one masterful plastic surgeon...

I have a friend who loves his zombie deck and loves his Zombie Apocalypse. I personally can't wait for my other friend with a human deck to pull this on him.

Zombie Boy: Zombie Apocalypse!

Angel Boy: You just activated my trap creature! This narrowly designed and amazingly convenient card I just MIRACULOUSLY topdecked will utterly CRUSH YOU NOW!

Zombie Boy: "Brainnnss....." (trans.:frraaaakkk.....)

I like it. :) It screams Yu-Gi-Oh!-style thinking....but I like it :D

So many people only seem to see that this hoses Zombies but very few have said anything about what this brings to the table for humans.

Uh...W/R human/angels? If the game is running late or even not necessarily in your favor and you get this angel you get to return ALL of your humans from the 'yard to play! That means Kessig Malcontents for nuke as it happens, Hanwier Lancer, Cathedral Sanctifier, (as someone else mentioned already) Fiend Hunter, or Riders of Gavony. You can Cloudshift or Summoner's Closet to constantly recur your humans. You could even Fiend Hunter it away for safe keeping.

Also, Warstorm Surge or Cathar's Crusade would not be out of place in this deck.

STOP saying this is the opposite of Zombie Apocalypse! This exiles, ZA does not. Hence, you can use this after that, but you cannot use that after this. I'm not going to say "superior" or "inferior" but for the love of god, stop calling them the 'same'.

@Fenix
On top of that, there's the multitude of flicker effects in Avacyn Restored. You can flicker the angel whenever you want as long as you have the cards, and always for considerably less than it costs to cast her.
Compared to Zombie Apocalypse, which you have to pay SIX for every time you want to use it, and you can do it no more than 4 times in a game unless you can get it back to your hand or give it flashback.

I get that it's supposed to fit the set's flavor, but why, why, WHY can't it simply be "destroy all Zombies"? As it is, Angel of Glory's Rise is just a 4/6 "F*** you" to the oldest Black tribal in Magic.

3.5/5; it's good, but I can't make myself rate it higher just because of how much of a dick move it was against Zombies (on top of the glaring lack of decent Zombies in the set to begin with...).

A deck posted on Wizards website has some interesting ideas:

http://wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/deck/968

The deck could be played with straight human-utility aggro or combo-oriented via Faithless Looting and Unburial Rites to reanimate Angel of Glory's Rise and return all humans into play at once.

If you play a human deck (which you should, if you plan on using this), you could try the following:
play this, then the next turn, exile it using Fiend Hunter. Since this costs 7 mana and Fiend Hunter only costs 3, you have enough mana to cast Day of Judgment (or Wrath of God.

Fiend Hunter leaves the battlefield, your Angel Of Glory's Rise enters the battlefield, you get all your humans back and your opponent lost all his creatures.

I am giving this card a higher rating than normal, 3.5/5 because it is utterly fantastic in limited. In a recent Draft this was handed to me and I literally thought it was junk, but pulled it anyway. Then my first round I was barely staying alive by blocking with my weenies against an Aggressive deck. I played a Cathar's Crusade and was never able to maintain board position because my creatures kept getting nuked. Then I topdecked this gem. I placed her on the field, no zombies to exile, but returned 6 humans into play, along with 7 counters because Cathar's triggered for all creatures entering the battlefield. Suddenly the tides changed, and my opponent scooped.

So.. For 1 more colorless mana in white you get a 4/6 bodied (Flyer no less) that EXILES on top of a Zombie apocalypse??? Wow lol that's got to be the biggest B**CH SLAP to a cards face I've ever seen before! By the way, how in the flying F is this Valued AND Rated lower than ZA?? Did you want it to draw a card for you too?!!

Synergises with Grimoire of the dead!!

Edit: Just tested out this as my finisher in a White Red deck running a bunch of Humans and Vigilante Justice, it was a fairly easy win for me too (in case you wondered how that went :)

i think the card has great effect but 7 mana make it way to hard to play in standard and for the curve youd only really be able to put one in your deck. meaning that itd be really lucky to draw. plus youd better hope you dont start with this card in your hand or its going to hurt. and likely never see the field unless the game goes on way to long. the other thing is that a lot human decks run a ton of tokens made by sorceries, so those wont be coming back.

this card has a ton of potential to turn a game around, (especially against zombies) but 7 mana makes it way to hard to play in the current meta game,

Well worth having in a sideboard for a human deck. However there are better finishers out there for a R/W human deck (which seems to be the way to go for humans right now) unless you're playing a zombie deck. So as I orginally said, sideboard potential.

A very combo-able card. Any mass-reanimation is, really. Abusable, so it gets a 4/5 from me.

Isn't.. resurrecting the dead.. basically creating... undead?

I have a buddy with a Cleric/Angel deck that has ... obscene amounts of life gain. It certainly doesn't help that this will often bring 5 of 'em back causing another 20 life or so to trigger. Very obnoxious.

Funniest moment in a Standard game was when someone "forced" me to discard this card before turn 5 and I already had several humans and an Unburial Rites in the graveyard. I'm all like, "OKAY!" Prompting a lament of "I shouldn'ta done that", followed by a scoop. Didn't win the match, but a personal highlight.

The expansion glyph on my foil Angel of Glory's Rise card does not resemble the one shown here on Gatherer.

The glyph on mine looks like a star shell arcing in from the right.

Does anyone know what it is/means?

Thank you.

Naya Werewolves. Why run white in a werewolf deck? Well... For human tribal of course! Champion of the Parish is just as strong since everything except immerwulf and wolf tokens are human and other cards just help fill slots in an EDH deck (20 just isn't enough, especially when about 5 are questionable).

While not on the 'field, werewolves count as in their weak flimsy human state, meaning you can bring 15 out of 20 back with Reveillark, Sun Titan can ressurect 13 out of 20 and of course, this beauty, who brings back everything except Immerwulf.

She is a pretty decent card, maybe far to narrow for anything other than a human deck which sucks but I love her art.

On a side note: Isn't her flavor text ironic? She brings human cards back from the dead, doesn't she do the same thing as any other zombie card, returns creatures from the graveyard? I hate hypocrites.

"...until undeath is done." *reanimates every human around her.* I know it is an angelic soul-restoration holy goodness return to life thing but that discrepancy was slightly jarring. I feel like it was a little forced so that it could mirror zombie apocalypse.
