A friend of mine uses this card in a deck made up of legendary creatures, including the myogins. I don't agree with how he uses it. If he uses the sneak attack ability to put a myogin into play, since it isn't being played from his hand, it will not come in with the divinity counter on it, correct?

Hilariously awesome when used with Shivan Phoenix.

"3 damage per turn" is not an incredible combo. It is mediocre.

Bring out all the creatures that you can in one turn, then follow up with a Twilight Shepherd. You get back all the creatures but the Shepherd, who stays in play because of Persist.
OR you could use your Erratic Portal to pull back your creature to use again next turn. Great to combo with Bogardan Hellkite.

Under M10 rules and the resulting card errata, the Myojins do not get the divinity counter if you use Sneak Attack to put them on the battlefield. They were not cast from your hand.

KrosanGardener, a 3/4 flying haste creature that deals 3 additional damage combo for one single mana per turn that only requires 2 cards to perform is bad?

I think it's an ok combo, easy to pull, the only problem i can see is that you have to wait to 4th or 5th turn, but for 1 red mana per turn is quite good.

this card is just awesome with creatures with huge enter the battlefield and/or leave the battlefield effects, or ones that can be put back into your hand/battlefield.

Run with massive creatures, 7/7 and larger. Reanimation combos well with this. You're not going to hard-cast the creatures, so don't worry about casting costs.
Oh, and those 'Star' dragon legends from Kamigawa? Put them in.

How is this not broken? You can just stack your deck with Eldrazi. It won't even matter if they have an impenetrable defense - they'll have an empty board in a couple of turns.

This card is stupid with a Worldgorger Dragon. Because the ruling that if the creatures have left the battlefield, oh wait, you just dropped as many creatures as you have mana for! Maybe couple this with something stupid like Dual Nature?

"Put into play/onto the battlefield" is not the same as "cast" therefore the Myojins do not get the divinity counter. So shut the hell up MasterOfEtherium.

Blink182zombies, you have to understand that this card came from Urza's Saga, probably the most broken set in the history of magic. Just take a look at some of the other powerhouse cards in this set (as well as the Urza block in general) and you'll understand that this card fits right in.

Many, many synergies... Master Transmuter. For UR you can put any artifact into play. Since returning Master Transmuter is part of the cost your opponent can't destroy it in response. Another card that synergies well with some Sneak Attack strategies is Wizard Mentor. For RR you can bounce the other creature you want back into your hand before it is exiled. One of my favorite ways to use Sneak Attack, however, is with Ovinomancer. Use Sneak Attack to put him on to the battlefield and in response to his triggered ability, destroy any creature and put a sheep in its place. Returning Ovinomancer is part of the cost and so it will be in your hand before it can be sacrificed if you choose not to return three lands to your hand.

@mikebeingmike: I'll walk you through this card with Sundial of the Infinite. You have this and Sundial in play, pay {R}, put something amazing onto the battlefield. At the end of your turn, this card's sacrifice trigger goes on the stack. When you activate Sundial of the Infinite, everything on the stack is exiled and doesn't happen. Since the sacrifice trigger didn't resolve, your creature doesn't get sacrificed.

I love this card even if you don't run Sundial of the Infinite with it; it's just so Red: I'm faster than you, and now you're dead. Yes, my hand is empty and all of my creatures are in the graveyard now, but I won, so that doesn't really matter.

The art seems to suggest that you would use it with a whole bunch of small goblins, and after the sneak attack they all die to the dragon.

In reality, the dragons and goblins should swith places

How I never made a deck around this beauty before now, I'll never know. It's broken how easily you can abuse this card.

Any creature that would usually give +1 CA still provides neutrality, so most cards with an ETB are already looking good. Creatures with dominating triggers like the eldrazi are just absurd. Emrakul is pretty tough to stop at instant speed, so even though he gets sac'd at end of turn, you're still up FIVE cards.

Then of course, Sundial of the Infinite has made it easier than ever to abuse the card. Simply end the turn with the delayed trigger on the stack, and voila, all your creatures now cost {R}, are virtually uncounterable, and come with free haste.

Personally, amongst other things, I run this along side Rune-Scarred Demon (the 'huge Squadron Hawk'), and Emrakul. So on turn 4-5, depending on accel, it's usually 33 points of flying power and annihilator 6 coming their way, with mana up to Sundial at EoT. Not many decks can recover from that kind of swing, even if they initially survive.

Turn 2: Forest, tap it for (G) then sack it for (R)(R/G)(R/G) using Orcish Lumberjack. Cast Sneak Attack. Use it to cast Blightsteel Colossus and attack with it. Win?

For extra props, before attacking equip Whispersilk Cloak :)

But no seriously, I'm liking Sundial of the Infinite and Living Death, and to me the perfect followup card to those are: Kaalia of the Vast!

:p Yeah. So maybe it's slightly unimaginative. Frankly Kaalia of the Vast is the most epic creature they have ever made. Very high power, but in a more restrained way than Emrakul or Progenitus- actually a fun/interactive card :D

And putting out 2 or 3 hasty Flying Beatsticks a turn just feels great.

AND Black+White gives you all the return-to-battlefield effects you could ever want!

It's like, every day, EVERY STINKING DAY, I find something that's broken with Kaalia. And don't think that being Blue or Green makes a card 'safe'. Scion of the Ur-Dragon as General. Maelstrom Archangel just because you can. Yeah.

I have officially become as obsessed about Kaalia as people were about Jace. Kaalia doesn't cost $100 though, so I should start collecting playsets :)

Ludicrously good- as if 6 pages of various examples and combos wasn't enough to get the point across. The card is hovering around $35 on the secondary market, so it's near-impossible for a a casual player to get one- man how I would ever like a playset of these! There's so much nasty in this card- circumvents mana cost as well as color, the drawback is nigh-negligible and since it was printed, the number of cards to sneak out as gone up tremendously. I really wish they'd reprint it in a Duel Decks or Commander set, or something- no way we'd see this in Standard, ever again. I could see them printing an equivalent that costs 2RR... wait, even THAT might be too good! The closest I could see to them reprinting it would be a sorcery that costs 2RR, so one-time use only.

Turn 2: Mountain / swamp (ideally a mountain and swamp in play)

@ DarthParallax

Is it me or Kaalia of the vast is a bit useless in a sneak attack deck ?

Her effect is the same than the sneak attack. If you can put any creature in play for one mana, you don't care much to keep them alive, you mostly want to draw a lot.

Sneak attack should be used to either turn creature into crazy spell.
1-You play arcanis the Omnipotent for one red, it's like you have a red Ancestral Recall
2-Or play angel of despair to have a one red mana vindicate

3-Or to protect your sneak attack, put some Mystic Snake or creature counterspell.

Or to put dragon tyrant or other super big creature that end the game.

Personnaly, I'd like to use it to turn creature into spell more. Seems more fun.

Besides the obvious applications with kill-creature du jour, consider this as a followup to Jokulhaups as well: not only does the flood not kill this spell, but it also allows you to drop that Mountain in your hand and immediately strike with your biggest fatty on an empty board. It's important to note that this card can be activated as many times as you have mana for per turn, as well, so you can go from an empty board to 3 Pathrazer of Ulamogs for RedRedRed.

This is indeed one of the most broken cards from a broken block. Whoever thought that sacrificing the creature at the end of turn was a serious enough drawback for this effect must never have played against this card.

How does this card work with Conjurer's Closet? Would the closet resolve first and flicker your creature, or would Sneak Attack go first and you sacrifice it?

Use this card with any big creature for great effect. If you have lifeline in play, all those fat, costly creatures return to play after sneak attack sacrefices them. Your opponents creatures retun to play as well but it should not be hard to bring more/larger creatures to play using sneak.

However, the best creature imo is palinchron for infinite mana. One R + 2UU for the return untaps up to 7 lands so having 6 is enough for infinite mana. Any xR damage spell will win you teh game or use capsize for any permanents in play which somehow prevent you to win this way.
