7 mana for 6/6 trample isn't too bad, but the fact that it comes back again after you kill it once is awesome. It's kinda like persist though not quite as good.

In Invasion Block, I used the penumbras with Obliterate
If you don't want to commit to the {GG} portion of the casting cost Wurmcoil Engine is similar to this card for {6}

This was a long time ago, but it is still a solid card. I used it with Ashnod's Altar, Juniper Order Ranger, and Twilight Shepherd to make 6/6 tramplers for each that I spent. Well I did until Mitotic Slime came out (two 2/2's for each ). Nowadays anti-wrath creatures are in every set, but they were pretty rare in 2001 when this punked Rootbreaker Wurm. I won a lot of games with Penumbra Wurm and this gives me warm fuzzy feelings when I remember it.
