Y'know, except for trample, this could've been monowhite.

Well this thing is a hot mess. Glad to see the return of WUBRG creatures, though. I think the last time we saw one was... SHARDS OF ALARA BLOCK?! And Progenitus in Modern Masters does NOT count...
Flying + Trample makes it ultra hard to successfully block this guy.
First Strike makes him immune to things like Vampire Nighthawk, but the large amount of auras in this block will make it easier to get around the first strike.
Vigilance lets you kill more creatures with him, or it can let you use things like Power of Fire with him and attack.
Lifelink gets you 8+ life a round with this guy, which should be enough to stabilize your life total.
All around, a very powerful card if you can play him. Channel the Suns helps a lot (Like Shadowcaster3975 said). The temples should also help, as they both fix mana and help you search fro the right land.

Each of the combat keyword represent each of the five colors. First Strike = Red, Vigilance = White, Trample = Green, Flying = Blue, Lifelink = Black.
In a gloriously beautiful and well-executed mid-air combination, this can combine with Cromat to become the ultimate fighting rainbow fish, CHROMA-CROMAT! The mighty 9/9 that can do 10 different things!

@Gcrudaplaneswalker: Not only would Intimidate be completely useless on this card, since it is of ALL colours, but its Lifelink is what is representing the Black mana used in summoning it, since Black, after White, is the colour with the most Lifelink.

Generally, for a full 5 color mana cost, you want something that will do more than what this guy does. Don't get me wrong, I freakin love the concept, but this should at least have been 5/5.

I want to say, "Whoa, weird multicolor card. How strange to put it in a two color set Wizards," but this is the least inspiring five color creature I've seen. Recently, there have been a lot of sets with an obligatory cycle of color lords, from the Mentors to the Maze Elementals. Chromanticore feels like an entire vanilla cycle jammed onto one card, none of the abilities feels very special because they've been overused to the point of boredom.
That said, this makes something huge. If there is a greedy hexproof deck still it wants to try to get this into play. While there isn't the awesome synergy that would have been first strike, deathtouch and trample; lifelink and vigilance mean that the manticore will be very hard to race once it does hit play.
It's really a shame this was designed in the no on board effects era. Looking at Cromat and knowing Chromaticore is a mythic manticore, it would have been cool to see what activated abilities they would give a five color version of a typically busted tribe. Regeneration and shooting, but what else?
For all of the people wondering how to get this out, just run a playset of Chromatic Lanterns.
Fun fact CapmCrunch. Your idea of what Chromanticore's 5 abilities should have been are what the original draft for this card had. They had to change it though because it didn't fit in the text box.

There are Mythics that are pushed beyond belief like Brimaz, King of Oreskos, and then there are flavor-dripping Mythics that for some reason get the short end like this one.
This deserved to be so much more. Alone for the fact that it's a damn rainbow-powered Manticore.
It does have no protection from removal whatsoever, and - being an enchantment as well - is especially susceptile to it. Unfortunately it didn't get haste as the red keyword either, so this might end up dead without having done anything.
Also, this would have been the ideal card to have a bestow cost equal to the casting cost. Getting is one hell of a task. This isn't just something you throw in a deck and cast on turn five. And being able to cast it for bestow that easily would have made up for the aforementioned fact with removal, since your opponent would at least have to deal twice with a threat when he doesn't have anything against enchantments.
You know, like Eidolon of Countless Battles. A much easier to cast three-drop with a bestow cost of four. Ugh! :/
It's a freaking WUBRG, make it at least a 5/5, for Heliod's sake!
My friend is quite excited to put this in his Progenitus commander deck. 4/5 if you can cast it.

I drafted this. Can you believe that this was passed 5 times? The fools... Did I win? Hahaha, no. But I can guarantee you I had the most fun that night.
First game was lost. Third game was also lost. The second game was legendary.
I drew Chromanticore opening hand and had gotten enough to cast pretty early thanks to Unknown Shores and Opaline Unicorn, and it probably would've won then and there. I wanted to wait until I had enough mana to bestow it, however. I had a plan.
It was the most grueling 4 turns I've ever played. It was worth it.

Best night of my life. 11/5 stars, would draft again.

This is such a neat card. I find it pretty ridiculous that it was significantly nerfed because the text was a few characters too long for the text box. That's fine for a common, but for a gorgeous mythic like this just... fix it. Drop the reminder text. Make the font 1pt smaller. Do what it takes to print the card as it was designed!

Building a deck around a first-pick Chromanticore can be a huge hassle. You need to pick up all the mana fixing and draw spells you can find, no matter how awkward they may be. The good news is, if you can resolve Chromaticore, you can turn around pretty much any board state. That goes double if you bestow it onto something.

As much as I want to like this card, I can't help be feel totally ripped off. The bump to mythic status and addition of 4 more colors should warrant more of an upgrade over Celestial Archon than just vigilance, trample, lifelink and a change from one irrelevant creature type to another equally irrelevant one. This doesn't feel truly mythic or 5-colored to me.
Ok, who let the Pokémon guy into the room to name this card??? The name reminds me of an older card - Chromium. I may try this in my five color artifact deck. Imagine a little Alloy Myr suddenly boosted +4/+4 with flying, first strike, vigilance, trample and lifelink...

My local game store community and I wish this was legendary so we could play it as a commander (Because why not). Though, I believe Wizards did not want to have to deal with the rules complications between a legendary creature bestowed upon by a non-creature legendary with the same name (Though they probably just didn't have enough room in the typeline). Though that is an interesting interaction that should be analyzed.
"704.5k If a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same name, that player chooses one of them, and the rest are put into their owners' graveyards. This is called the 'legend rule'."
Note that the rule doesn't care about whether or not the permanents are of the same type, only that they have the same name. What does this mean if this rule comes up (If, say, one of the players is using Leyline of Singularity)? You have a Chromanticore on the battlefield and get the ingenious idea to bestow a Chromanticore onto it. Upon resolution of the bestowing chromanticore you will be forced to choose one of them and sacrifice the other. If per chance you choose to keep the one that is bestowing then it will fall onto the field as a creature as the other is sacrificed. If you choose the other one, well, then it stays and the other is in the graveyard.
Kudos to you if you do pull off a Chromanticore with a Chromanticore on it, as redundant as that would be.
