Played with this guy for the first time in Friday night's prerelease. He won many matches for me, including one where I had 2 life and my opponent had 26. Pretty ridiculous for a 3 drop at uncommon. I'll be drafting this guy every chance I get

While widely cursed and considered "powercreep", the truth is this card hasn't broken any formats the first time around, and probably will not do so now. It will surely find its place in Vampire tribal decks, especially since M13 also heralds the return of the best Vamp lord ever made, but in the end, despite all its useful abilities, Nighthawk is still 2 power for 3 mana, with no removal protection whatsoever (well, except for Doom Blade). It will pop up in tourneys here and there, but Delver it is not.
And thank gods for that.

Lessons learned from the prerelease: Vampire Nighthawk + exalted = opponent loses.
Vampire Nighthawk + Ring of xathrid + exalted = real life opponent dies. It's just that good.

I played a game the other day that went like this.
Turn one: Me: Duress, getting the guy's Ajani Him: Land, go
Turn four: Me: Play and equip Runechanter's Pike Him: Draw, look for a moment, scoop
Now he must have had a pretty bad hand to scoop to a 4 power creature, but still. This card can end games if he goes unanswered. Especially when he's buffed.

WotC should just admit that this card was a mistake, and the only reason they're reprinting this overpowered piece of shit is because a whiny minority is demanding it. This card is like Baneslayer Angel, only worse because it's significantly more available, and thus much more obnoxious.

By far and away my favorite Vampire ever printed. Dropped him back into my Vamp deck when he reprinted, and started just walking all over my friends. Great card.
And yeah, I'd have been completely unsurprised to see him upgraded to a rare. He's better than many rares, as it is.
Also? This guy + Stromkirk Captain + Rakish Heir = Invincible, or damn near, anyway. Throw in an Akroma's Memorial (if you can manage the mana load) and he's unstoppable.

This guy is too good at pretty much every possible strategy other than combo. Block and gain life. Attack and remain unblocked (since your opponent doesn't want to lose all their creatures). Attack and kill a blocker. Seeing this guy across the board is one of the worst feelings available.

If you opened this in a Zendikar draft, you slam picked it. You didn't even look at the rest of the pack except the rare, because the only things you took over this were Malakir Bloodwitch, and Sorin Markov. That was it. Sometimes you even took this over Sorin, because that's how fast the format was. In M13, you should still first pick it over almost anything, save Mind Control or a bomb rare. Astoundingly good card, one of the best creatures ever printed. It's just a solid, solid card. Glad to see it in M13, hopefully it gets more reprints in the years to come. 5/5, 6/5 if I could.

Forget a Vampire deck, this card sweeps the board in any deck that utilizes black. A 2/3 with flying for its mana cost would have been nice but then they decided to be all generous and throw deathtouch and lifelink on it. So he wittles down your opponent with his evasion ability, can take out creatures in a pinch with his second ability, and of course do his part to prevent you from losing the game by fetching you life. This card is the definition of multi-tasking.

Hands down one of the best creatures I have ever seen. Scares the crap out of anyone to see him across the board. He kills anything and stops your opponent's flying fatty. Gives you life on offense or defense. You can't help but love it.
Combo it with Frontline Medic and you'll win a lot of games in standard.

You WILL lose a card (or more) to it or you WILL quickly lose the game (except combo decks.) A 4 life swing gets out of control fast, especially when he's seen in decks that are tearing apart your hand and battlefield. MBC is scariest when combined with this unholy monster.
Good enough for main-board whenever legal, worth sideboarding if he's not part of your strategy as he will hamper another's strategy efficiently.

Should definitely have been a 1/3 though. It would still be a great card at that; difficult to block and the choice chump blocker for fatties because of the flying / deathtouch but with a reduced aggro impact and lifelink effectiveness, which I think is more balanced for 1BB.

5/5 for my second favorite Black card ever printed, I love Vampires, I love 3 drops (Liliana of the Veil) being my favorite, I love the artwork, and this guy wins game by himself. Worst case you draw out opponent's removal for your 3 drop so you are safe when your 5 or 6 drop hits the battlefield!
