Bad card is expensive. Yes yes big creature but for all the work to create it better damn well win me the game in the next turn or two. It doesn't even have trample! How big is this ginormous looking 8/8 elemental!

It might not have Trample, but equipments are colorless. Ring of Kalonia is enough to give it Trample (and it of course benefits from the color aspect of any Ring). Loxodon Warhammer for a pricier option that will easily win you the game if even one swing is made.
Some day they will print an equipment that says "If equipped creature is White, it has +1/+1 and Flying. If it's Blue, it has +1/+1 and Hexproof. If it's Black, it has +1/+1 and Undying. If it's Red, it has +1/+1 and Haste. If it's Green, it has +1/+1 and Trample." That day, Fusion Elemental will become king of Magic.

He goes great with knight of new alara. I mean, so does every other multicolored card but how often do you get a 13/13 for five mana. But if you're worried about getting the colors or still want to use knight of new alara, well, then, transguild courier. You want to make him useful.
Yeah, like everyone else said, all the work required is quite the *** to get this thing out. Haste or trample would have been nice.

I feel like in a non-Sliver deck with absolutely 0 cards that combo with either one of them, Sliver Queen's effect might just make up for the 1/1 in P/T that this thing has over it.

This works amazing with Chromatic Lantern, turn 4 boom.
In the right deck, paying {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} for 8/8 is easily attainable. Being every color is both a blessing and a curse, it allows this to be immune to removal like Doom Blade, while at the same time being susceptible to stuff like Deathmark.
Also, Blessing of the Nephilim will give you a 13/13, but there are other better cards out there for this to synergize with.

T2 Cultivate
T3 Fusion Elemental.
Turn 1: Land (1 mana), Birds (2).
Turn 2: Land (3), Cultivate (4, also brings a land to your hand).
Turn 3: Land (5), Elemental.
Well look at that, Shane's method works. Nice try disproving him, though.
