I could see comboing this with a swarm and Comet Storm. It doesn't say any damage has to be dealt.

Requires kind of a specific build, but definitely comboable and viable for certain types of ramp. Pretty good in EDH as well.

It's sad that many people who open the super expensive mythics in sealed won't be able to cast them. The only mana acclerators in this set are uncommon and rare.

This + five or more tokens (think Eldrazi Spawn) + Aggravated Assault. Throw in any sort of unblockable *coughcoughInvisible Stalkercough* and you have quite a fun casual deck
dude this card is one of the most useful cards in this set, if you use it with birds of paradise and Copperhorn Scout to double your mana.

The further back you go, the more green cards you can find to pump out lots of tokens, who will all basically become Birds of Paradise during combat. Of course, that's assuming you don't just look at stuff like Gather the Townsfolk and Thatcher Revolt.

Elves will be glad to meet this. It's nice addition to decks using Genesis Wave and Elvish Archdruid combination. It's nice to combine with Ezuri, Renegade Leader, since it provides you mana you need to renegerate your attackers if needed.
In token based decks, this will be easy way to get Craterhoof Behemoth in to play really soon.
Again, nice and balanced rare in AVR. Whole set is just great, after a long time. Well done, Wizards.

While I am sure you are most definitely a green player based on your feeling the need to use mana excels to get high mana cost cards out, I would like to point out that control accelerates mana as well, by maintaining game state in a constant, allowing for both players to get additional land drops without the game going anywhere.
Also, this format in limited (I assume that is what you are referring to) is fairly slow in the avacyn set, the only faster colors being red and white (not atypical of the colors themselves)

Hilarious what muliples of this can do with Bonfire of the Damned, especially when miracles are involved.

I got Druids' Repository along with Primal Surge so it sped up the time to cast that spell during the prerelease, and other spells i couldn't get out without attacking. It was just awesome on Sunday.
I put this in a red/green soulbound deck which worked pretty well. Where I played at, I placed 4th with 2-1 and drop with the deck but it has been the highest I have placed in a tournament because I had Druids' Repository to help my deck get out the things I needed, so don't underestimate it during gameplay.

So I can attack to store up mana, mana fix myself, play big threats earlier and for only 1GG? Why would I not want this? I feel like I'm missing something big because I just haven't heard much buzz about this card.

Hellkite Charger. Although requires 7 creatures to attack, but infinite attack steps is pretty good....

This is a great card! Every attack you make banks 1 mana of ANY color for you to use later. And it only costs 3 mana!
lets...lets break down what it does. for 3 mana, I have a pot of gold on the field. and the pot of gold fills up whenever I punch people. and then, and then-hold your frakkin' horses because this part's gonna blow your mind!-this pot of gold is so frakkin' awesome, that if I get tired of my gold, I can toss the gold off, and turn it into my choice of emarald, pearl, ruby, sapphire or jet whenever the frak I want! all this from punching people! how frakkin' incredible is that?! money for punching people! in magic! it's frakkin' amazing!

I really don't understand the positive feedback of this card. It is worthless in limited; even if you have a bomb to play, you need this first, then creatures that can attack and not just die for nothing, and you need your big spell, which you HOPE was worth sacrificing creatures for. In constructed, who needs this? Green has SO MANY ways to ramp mana and attacking with creatures is hardly better than any of them - rampant growth and mana creatures are pound for pound better. This card needs help, and even Johnnies - which I definitely am - need to work really, really hard to make this card work at all.
Now, if it were red, THAT would have been a card I would love to build around. As-is, it is terrible. Only new players see any real value in this card, like in Battle Hymn.

Why not put this in your WG vigilance deck (Intangible Virtue) with some fogs for just-in-caseys?

This card has helped out more times than I can count in my aggro deck for mana fixing and ramp. I don't have to waste a card slot on Rampant Growth and the like and I can get big fatties out when I want. Even if they kill the enchantment, I can still take off counters at instant speed. And for a CMC of 3! I really don't understand why people don't like it. What am I missing?
Go forth my saprolings! Bring me cards, mana, and board position! Gonna try it in fungus!
EDIT: I think I just won 4 for 25 cents a piece? After shipping? Sweet!

The mono-green mana ramp can now not only punch you till you die from it, but pop a door to nothingness if that doesn't work out.

why is noone saying eldrazi spawn tokens? Even if they are attacking to their doom you still get a counter on the repository that is colored mana if you have 3-4 eldrazi spawn and a few real creatures attacking rarely will they have the capacity to kill all the spawns thus doubling their mana production.(plus mana fixing)

I've played this in G/W tokens and Bant tokens. Can easily be broken in a token deck. Be sure to play a lot of mana sinks like Vitu-ghazi Guildmage if you run this; because You'll often have an overabundance of mana.

Could be fun with reconnaissance. Proc all the attack effects then save all your attackers from a horrible, horrible death. Essentially gives em vigilance too, so mana dorks can attack and still give you mana.

But each use sets you back a counter, and chances are people are gonna stack the counters and use them all at once, rather than a few at a time.
If you have a token deck or a high creature deck though, this really doesn't matter as much.
On a serious note, this would be devilish if played with anything relating to proliferate or charge counters.
after a turn 4 Increasing Devotion i was able use an Alchemist's Refuge to flash in a mid-combat Elesh Norn turn 5. talk about insta-scoop lol.
aggro decks can do some nutty things when attacking builds crazy amounts of any color mana.
Army of the damned along with Endless Ranks of the dead and Parallel lives on turn 6. The look on their face never gets old XD
