The cost for the token is insane, but that seems about standard considering Selesnya Guildmage, but the ability to Populate multiple times a turn(with proper mana) is awesome =3

Training Ground galore, although without it, the first ability is too expensive, while the second one relies on a token creature already on the field (which means if you have none you will need to pay 6 to create one). A little dependent on other cards to be good, but endless token generation is nothing to underestimate.

Interestingly, the guildmage got a Nissa Revane style cleavage covering art change; however, unlike Nissa, the change is seen on the main version on the card and on most of the art, with only the "Which guild are you" quiz art being a holdover.
Since WotC doesn't seem to have a problem with cleavage on other cards in the same set, I'm guessing the artist just decided the original wasn't working.

Yet another solid guildmage. A token creator and a populator is a really good deal. These are deep thoughts from a seasoned pro. The pro is me, by the way.

When you look at it as a Guildmage that's supposed to have two great activated abilities, the first one's activation cost might seem expensive at first. But the second ability alone that allows you to populate for would already make this card decent. The option for a 3/3 centaur token for on top of that is still awesome. Keep in mind you'll usually only have to pay six mana once, after that you can make more of them for by using the second ability.
They made sure you won't be using the first one to create a 3/3 centaur during turn four that way.
Think about it, a 2/2 for two mana that can create 3/3s without tapping at instant speed for four mana (without card disadvantage) and populate would seem rather ridiculous.
Well, of course it does get ridiculous with Training Grounds, though.

It's abilities seem overcosted at first glance, but don't be fooled: I splashed green in the prerelease just for this card and it ended up winning me every game it came out in. If you're able to draw things out to 8 mana, this thing will quickly end the game, even without any other tokens on board. This is crazy in limited.

She got her Populate skill from her guild leader, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice . However, the cool thing is that she could give a birth to thousand tokens a turn if you have mana instead of just tap and give one token a turn.

Keep in mind: By the time you're able to Populate this, you've probably dropped two Centaurs already thanks to Call of the Conclave or a 2/2 Knight c/o Selesnya Charm.
The Centaur spawn is for a finisher, in case you didn't get your Armada Wurm.

Why does everyone keep mentioning Training Grounds with cards like this when that would be pushing the deck to three colors at the least?
But yeah, this card is an awesome mana sink. Use the centaur ability at the end of your opponent's turn or even just populate during the same time. I can see this going into any WG commander deck even if it focuses on tokens or not.

@SgtPepperJack: Only playable in one major constructed format != 4 stars.

A definite 4 to 4.5 card. The Centaur token ability is just for backup in case you need it. The primary draw is the re-useable Populate ability, and that is crazily strong. Plus, the art is amazing and the flavor works as well. Cool card all around. @hottychick88, being a solidly playable, flavorful, aesthetically pleasing card is definitely equal to four stars in my book. I don't know about you, but being Necro-level broken is not the only thing I look for in a card. Also, I think Guildmage and the Populate deck could probably make it in extended, or perhaps even modern, although obviously legacy is rather out of the question.
seriously. you can take your oppoments creatures and multiply them easily, or turn that mana source that was blasted away into many mana sources. and once you got one "pure" non destroy copy, you can go ahead and get a new subject!
Seriously though, This will become a dangerous card. someone Will find a way to massive break the populate here, and if left unchecked, she can win your game, even if you have to resort to her 6 mana centaur, which is probably fair considering her second ability.
This works really well in my selesnya token deck. Most games with it usually lock into a stalemate, and by that point, I'm able to produce 2-3 3/3 centaurs a turn. There's no way my opponents can keep up with that, so it's almost a wincon in my deck. And, of course, goes excellently with Grove of the Guardian.

4/4 centaur, same color and a couple other advantage.
Also, this is the power level of a rare.
