Vengeful Dead, only better. Actually a lot better.

Take a pinch of Hissing Iguanar, and put it in a bowl with Deathgreeter. Mix the F@#$ out of it. What do you get?
A vampire. And it flies. Ok
Definitely a solid card. Swarm the board with tokens and wrath yourself is always a fun win condition for multiplayer.

Reminds me of Disciple of the Vault, but more flexible and more costly.

He and Kalastria Highborn used to hang out.

I want to make some kind of death-happy deck full of this, Viridian Emissary, Ambush Vipers, and other multiplayer fun. ^_^

I think this guy could be a sleeper hit. A 2/2 flying body is below the curve, but not horribly so. But the ability is awesome. He forces your opponent to deal with him before sweeping the board, and even when they do remove him, he'll usually grab a point of life for you. I could see him being used for support if a heavy tokens deck that swarms the board becomes popular, as a kind of pseudo Dauntless Escort.

Or option B: Use him in Birthing Pod decks. You could drain for one each pod activation. Heck, you could substitute any sac engine, really.

Oh yeah, and he makes all YOUR removal that much better too, as well as any chump blocks or combat trades by either player. The more I look at this guy, the more threatening he seems.

This guy and a Divine Reckoning makes for some nice synergy, and also, for the win.
Especially when facing token decks.

If it dies at the same time as 20 other creatures (Day of Judgment) will it give me 21 life and essentially kill my opponent?

@kabal363 Yes, it does. it triggers for each an every one of the deaths including its owm.

One of the best combos ever, this, Blowfly Infestation, and Flourishing Defenses.

Auto win, even in multiplayer free for all.

Just put a -1 counter on anything that will die, bring out an elf, move the counter to the elf, bring out an elf, move the counter to that one. Rinse and repeat until you win.

I don't even combo this to play it well. Throw just one of these down in a multiplayer game and it will pay off -- whether it's the little civil wars going on it the corner, or the wrath of god that gets laid down, you win no matter what.

Combo with Stromkirk Noble...
OK, not really, but both cards have such a huge ego.

So does this card mean any creature on the battlefield that dies gives you life and target player loses life, or only those under your control?

Yes, *any* creature that dies. Make a deck with 4 of these, 4 Hissing Iguanors and some token engine and you almost cannot lose in a creature heavy metagame in multiplayer. Having 3 of this type of effect on the table means a bucketload of damage for any opponent when it's boardwipe time. Which happens a lot in multiplayer.

People won't notice it before it's too late hehe. Turn 3 hissing iguanar, turn 4 this one, turn 5 maybe another hissing. Smile once they realize what it means. ..

One of my win conditions in my G/B token swarm casual deck. Mana accel leads to saproling fun with Jade Mage and then Nemata, Grove Guardian. If swarming doesn't work, this and sac engines like Fallen Angel or Nantuko Husk work quite well.

Played my Splinterfright deck against my friend's vampire deck with this guy out. With lots of removal spells like Doom Blade, Victim of Night, and Incinerate, this guy's ability adds up very quickly. VERY underestimated. 4.5/5

I have a timing question on this guy. Is this an effect that is simultaneous with combat damage or are creatures dying and giving me life resolved after damage is assigned? IE if combat damage reduces my life to zero: do I get saved by some creatures dying and giving me life, or would that trigger later?

Will this work with acard that makes players sacrifice creatures like Anowon, the Ruin Sage?

One of my favorite vamps around. It's like a game of economics, because suddenly you have an incentive to kill and destroy as many creatures as you can. Not to mention that I can often hit them with the 2/2 flying at the same time, a slow but sure game-winner in most of my matches.

@Kabal363: Of course dude.. But unless YOU'RE the one wrathing, don't expect to see that card and this one on the table at the same time with that many creatures..

Goblin Arsonist + Perilous Myr + Falkenrath Noble + Rolling Temblor. With only a couple of each gob or myr on the field you are talking about 10 dmg and 4 life gain and it keeps your Noble intact. If you remove a couple of your opponents critters or tokens the swing becomes even larger.

It's fun in multiplayer, because some people just want to wipe the damn field, whether I gain a bunch of life and kill somebody or not.
On at least one occasion, I paired this up with a Rage Thrower in a 4-man game, and successfully killed every other player off of one Planar Cleansing that an opponent cast.

It hit the table and I just look across at him, like "seriously?!"

rides the massacre wurm all the way to victory.
i *would* have preferred a third point of toughness on him, though.

5/5. Put him in a Green/Black undying deck with Altar's Reap. Altar's reap your Strangleroot Geist, direct -1 to opponent and +1 to you, you pick up 2 cards and can now swing for 3. If they kill it, direct another -1 to them and another +1 to you! Great fun.

Basically this guy is Disciple of the Vault for creatures. You could say he has *puts sunglasses on* an affinity for Ghave, Guru of Spores. YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

It's a flying Blood Artist... what could be better than that?

Picking up 4 of these guys — I love Blood Artist, so why not get more of the same?

Blood Artist, Falkenrath Noble, and Killing Wave. Even in multiplayer, these 3 cards feel like it deals with alot of problems, while putting your opponent on a clock. Probably the best non-traditional deck Ive built in Standard yet includes these cards, Harvester of Souls, and any card that helps build up creatures while hurting your opponent.

While there might be better options, Soulcage Fiend, Maalfeld Twins, and Geralf's Messenger all come to mind. See what works for you!

Has the same ability as Blood Artist, but is twice the cmc. While most people including me like Blood Artist more, the Aristocrat can still be played, especially in a tribal vampire deck, because he has a pretty solid body with evasion.
