It sure was nice of them to add a bit of toughness in there to increase survivability.

Fits so perfectly in the deck's flavour, fits so horribly in the deck's mechanic. A paradox, much like an evil angel.

This card so so perfectly balanced. It's power/toughness are solid, plus she has evasion. Not beefy, still boltable and the sacrifice gives a +2/+1 which makes feeding her multiple creatures worth it without completely destroying your opponent's chances of killing her. Plus she's black so she has a bit of protection from a fair bit of spot removal. All this in a 5 mana package with 2 black symbols. I really like this card, glad it got reprinted again.

I'd love to see this back in a core set with artwork more like Knight of Dusk's than Sinead O'Connor here.

Fits perfectly into Ghave's deck, though. Would have been cool to see the alpha art in the new frame. I'd like to see the old stuff come back more. @Princezhou True. Mah statement stands.

I don't feel like those wings would be able to hold her up.

People seem to be missing that the best part of her ability is sacrificing things in response. In particular, Insurrection. Much funnier is when they use Reins of Power and you reanimate your angel and sac all their creatures....... and this is why I use Strands of Night.

I don't prefer this art to any other. That said this was a great card and still is. Plus the combination with symbiotic wurm will always be a favourite of mine. This card is black and proud and its an angel!

@bparx: Well, she used to not have any wings at all.

This is, in my opinion, the perfect card to show a new player. It's flavorful. It's an iconic fantasy trope. It shows the philosophy of Black. It allows them a bit of fun strategy (sac the blocked creatures). It's powerful enough to win a game. It teaches them the meaning of sacrifice. It encourages a creature heavy strategy (something most new players like, in my experience). It could encourage you to build around death triggers. It has magnificent art and flavor text. It teaches them the power of evasion.
Bloodgift Demon is better. Draw your answers from your library, don't sac your other win conditions.

It's funny, I don't think I ever use her for the evasive aggro. Infact, I don't even run swarms of creatures in the deck I put her in, and pretty much everything else is much beefier than she is anyway. No, I use her for the free instant sacrifice ability to get rid of my Abyssal Persecutor when the time is right. Or pop my Havoc demon to wipe out a field, or trigger a Gravepact. Even sac my Lord of the Pit or Xathrid Demon or any other big meanie who ends up having too much of an appetite at an inconvenient time.
No I know there's far more mana efficient creatures for this, but none are so flavourful as Fallen Angel.

5/5 not for power, but for greatness.
Used to swing wither Her, a smal black weenie army in play with Grave Pact... kinda like a slow motion Wrath of God and Fireball all in one...
