Colourless Shock plus 1/1 for 1? Sounds like a good buy.

So it's a slightly cheaper, slightly weaker Mudbutton Torchrunner that I can play in any color deck.

Neat!

He is so cute. Even if he was a 0/0 i'd give him 5/5^^

Are there Myr cuddly toys on sale? :-D

throne of geth + quick removal of -1/-1 counter-ed weakened creatures means this little cutie is a pro. <3 it.

So so good, this guy is an amazing deterrent. After all, what other 2 mana creature can take down a X/3?

Had one in my deck at the pre-release, when ever i pulled him, my opponent had a hard time attacking. I'm definitely gonna get 4.

And since we apear to be given this little guy nicknames, I submit: BOOM-myr.

I suggest that this guy's nickname be "Achmyrd". You know, because racism is funny.

Tainted Strike turns that two damage into poison counters, or if the situation allows you can swing through for 3 counters.

Fantastic for making combat tricky for opponents. I prefer it as a blocker, since it can often take out two creatures just by blocking something with 1 toughness, but it's nice as an attacker too, since they know that if they block it, they can at least take more damage than they would if they just let it through.

I love the art on this guy, it's like the beautiful old school myrs which wizards decided to give stupid new art for some strange reason. (personal grudge against wizards for messing with the myr)

As a red mage who's pulling my hair out at Kor Firewalker, in desperation I inserted this into my deck and was promptly amazed by the results. Now I'm even thinking of combining it with Kuldotha Rebirth for more ridiculous shenanigans.

Colourless mini Mudbutton Torchrunner. God, how I hated the torchrunner back in the day. And now we have min-mini Mudbutton Torchrunner via Goblin Arsonist as well. This time, I've made sure that *I'm* the one with the exploding critters. So far, it's worked out quite well.

And for those of you who play against this card: block and kill it asap. If you keep letting him through you'll end up taking a lot more damage and then get a Shock to the face. Better to take less earlier than more later.

Two goblin arsonists in a robot.

It's an amazingly good card to use against kor firewalker, black and white knight and, in beseiged, the two crusaders. So many things with protection seem to have two toughness...

At first I thought this guy was just good.

Then I realized you could sac it for anything(I like Kuldotha Rebirth), use it as a chumpblocker to kill stuff, increase it's attack(with something like Ogre's Cleaver) and threaten your opponents if they block, and punish field wipers.

Gotta love "whenever it is put into the graveyard" effects...

I have a question. If my bro and I both have one of these guys but he also has Myr Galvanizer so his is a 2/2
he attacks with his 2/2 Perilous Myr and I Block with mine. I use the damage from the ability to kill Myr Galvanizer. does everyone die? I did the one damage so if Myr Galvanizer stops giving Perilous myr the +1/+1, does Perilous myr die?
Higginjoe
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@Ninjakraken

Yes, your brother's Perilous Myr dies. After combat, his Perilous Myr basically becomes a 2/1, standing on the bonus of the Myr Galvanizer. If you get rid of the Galvanizer, his Perilous Myr becomes a 1/0, effectively dead.

Probably the jankiest of the new Myr commons. It not only kills lots of high profile cards (Phyrexian Crusader), but it's also an artifact and a Myr to boot. Which means it's dandy for cards like Rusted Slasher and Piston Sledge and even Culling Dais and Throne of Geth. Such a great card, the Myr are well known for their versatility.

I run this in an extended deck with Mudbutton Torchrunner and Goblin Arsonist, and Thunder-Thrash Elder. Om, nom, nom, damage. Om, nom, nom, 10/10 for 3 mana. Magma Phoenix joins the fun sometimes.

Fantastic card. I still find myself throwing 2 into the most random of decks. Draws the early Doom Blade if your opponent is smart enough to ask the old (am I going to have to kill this later) question.

Heck I had one in my mill deck just to essentially act as a wall.

An excellent 2-drop, and gets quite scary with a Myr Reservoir around. I used to run 4 of these. Then I found Ichorclaw Myr and never looked back. Still a solid card though, and great for running outside of myr tribal.

Goes infinite with Heartless Summoning and Enduring Renewal. Both manawise and cardwise, that's the most efficient one I could come up with.

Powerhouse! Its easy to underestimate this little guy, but my opponents soon learn to fear him. I call him my terrorist Myr lol He stops people from attacking allowing me to quickly build up my forces and take the lead. I prefer him over Ichorclaw Myr.

@ Kesth: Not very much. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed pumps the Myr but it still dies automatically from the Heartless Summonings. It would deal 2 damage to target creature or player and come back as a 1/1. However, if you had 3 Summonings, it would die again and deal another 2 damage to target creature or player.

This + Heartless Summoning + Glissa, the Traitor = Whenever a creature with power 2 or less enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, destroy that creature. Perilous Myr deals 2 damage to target creature or player.

Heartless summoning does not turn this into a "Free colorless shock". For one it would be sorcery speed and not instant. Number 2, it still costs a card in your hand. For something to really be "free", it needs to cost 0 and cantrip. The only thing I can think of is Mishra's Bauble.

Also, the reason why Recycle + Aluren was so powerful, because it turned everything into the real definition of free.

I've never been more scared than when I saw this on a Prototype Portal, and then the Galvanic-Palladium combo come out.
The moral of this story is to pack artifact destruction wherever you go, for the love of all that is good

Fits the burn deck niche quite nicely. AS mentioned, Shrapnel blast for 7 to the face or divided depending on the situation (i.e. 2 and 5 to separate targets). Works as fodder for Trash for Treasure, though keep in mind I would NOT recommend returning one of these guys with that card. I got a very nasty look when I used Brute force and gave it +3/+3 making it a 4/4. My opponent didn't realize the 2 damage trigger and went red in the face. Not sure but Furnace of rath for mid game control?

Here's how I would go infinite (fewer colours the better methinks)

T1: Cloudpost
T2: Glimmerpost, Gain 2 life, make 3 mana, play incubator choosing Myr, Drop this guy (or your entire hand if the draw is right)
T3: Blasting station, Altar of dementia or some sac outlet.
T4: Enduring renewal, go infinite, and it doesn't have to just be with this guy, the sac engine allows you to do other stuff rather than use this guy as a win-con and your other Myr as fodder

Seems everyone's giving this little guy a pet name.... bomb-bomb- myr.
