I actually like the idea of using this in Infect decks so your dudes can swing fearlessly and also do double-duty being amazing blockers.

works GREAT with Glint Hawk. Then, after you equip, its a 2/4 flying vigilance for a total investment of 3W. That's SOLID.

This is going to work far better than people are giving it credit for. Between Ornithopters, Mox Opal, Memnite, and this you can have up to 16 cards that cost nothing to throw down. That's pretty nuts.

for a reusable permanent +3 toughness and Vigilance is not too expensive. Vigilance is probably the rarest and most expensive evergreen ability. And this enters the battlefield free!

Alright card, because of its 0 CMC it has its uses in an affinity deck. The equip cost is too high for it to do much else. 2.5/5

I think this should be rated higher because of its synergy between Stoneforge mystic to tutor up a 0 costing equipment/artifact and Phylacery Lich.

By itself, this card is utter garbage. To enable some combos though beeing a zero-cmc card, it could make sense somewhere. Still, there are loads of better 0 mana cards, and flooding your deck with horrible cards (such as this) to enable some combos, that makes no sense. 1/5

Personally, I think this is a great card. It's a free contributor to metalcraft and it gives and additional three toughness and vigilance. My Engulfing Slagwurm just got 9000 times more threatening! Just because it has vigilance now! I plan to make a white/green deck soon and I will definitely incorporate this into it.

You know, I didn't think much of this card, but in limited it won me a lot of my games. 3 is not that hard to pay for +3 and Vigilance! Especially if you're playing the MetalCraft deck this was meant for. With Palladium Myr, this isn't hard to pay for at ALL.

Two of these and an Origin Spellbomb on turn 1 set up my Screeching Silcaw mill victory. I placed 3rd in a draft on the back of this. On its own its alright, but with any Metalcraft creature its great.

Turn 2 Plague Stinger and equip this turn 3. Will probably win you a limited game since they can't block OR attack with anything that isn't infect even as large as a Razor Hippogriff.
Rough trying to find a place for it outside of limited with the equip of 3 though. 3 stars.

It's a really nice effect; a creature with +0/+3 with vigilance can attack without worry and block almost anything. It's not worth paying 3, but the fact that it's a free artifact really helps make up for that. That, and it's an equipment so even if the creature dies, you lose the mana but not the card advantage.
I give it 3.5 stars.

Indeed, it greatly enhances many creatures in limited (Turns Goblin Gaveleer or Sunspear shikari on, makes infecters even more irritating, brings 'smith out of range of most burn, counts towards metalcraft for , etc.). And its art... it makes me feel safe.

On constructed: Heh.
On limited: Play it as a disatisfactory twenty-third card if you're desperate to assemble metalcraft, or if your deck happens to be unfortunely chock full of Scoria Elementals and Goblin Gaveleers. Never pick it early.

Works Amazingly in my EDH. Between Protean Hydra, Engulfing Slagwurm and Borborygmos, it really helps keep up a steady pounding while not leaving myself vulnerable. Still, I would have prefer it if it costed mana to put out, and less to equip... 3.5/5

Both awesome towards metal craft and makes infectors have increased survivability and vigilance. I always feel confidant picking this card in limited.

My steel overseer really benefits from this, allowing it to both attack and tap in the same turn. As a bonus it conveniently puts the overseer out of bolt range.
Strictly better than Kite Shield. That's...interesting.

Pretty cool card. 0-Cost artifact for metalcraft
Amazing when combined with Glissa, the Traitor tho
Turn One: Forest + Birds of Paradise + This Turn Two: Forest + Glissa, the Traitor Turn Three: Equip this to Glissa and destroy them
Glissa becomes a 3/6 First Strike, Deathtouch, Vigilance machine
3 damage every turn unless they chump block they try and attack? first strike + deathtouch = instantly dead they get annoyed and try and Doom Blade? too bad. Glissa is a black creature
summon a creature that will use an ability to kill it? Prey Upon for an instant kill

A pretty good target for Trinket Mage in a limited draft. The vigilance is certainly non-trivial. Strictly better than Kite Shield.

What will happen if a creature with Accorder's Shield was declared attacking and it is Shattered? Does it remain untapped or it goes tapped since it is attacking. Shatter is instant!

@MyrBattlecube - Almost strictly better, some creatures you want to tap. :P
That's one limited card that can destroy Kite Shield, and 12 that can destroy the slightly better Accorder's Shield

I normally don't like equipment that boosts toughness without boosting power. But this gets the nod from me over cards like Spidersilk Net and Vanguard's Shield because it creates an awesome blocker that can still swing recklessly. Solid 4/5 in pauper cube drafts.

Nah, this is pretty usable in multiplayer games where you need defense and need your creatures to live. This does both.
