This seems very fairly priced. It would benefit from some power boosting, but this is acceptable at common.

This would go nicely on many solid creatures. Infect with more Evasion ? Yes please. A way to safely block those -1/-1 infecting soddery ? yes please. Kemba, Kha Regent ? Oh god yes.
This is a solid, solid card in limited and, potentially useful in many tier 2 decks. And if white Weenie's make it to Tier 1, with Kor, Kemba and Elspeth Tirel then a nice cheap equipment. Probably one of my fave equipments in Scars. Behind Darksteel Axe and baby-skullclamp
Cool, i'm gonna bid my neurok hoversails fairwell and welcome this glorious machine into my life

Consider there are numerous creatures with infect, with this equipped, who ever use it just have to spit the defender or attacker, and the -1/-1 counter continue even over EOT.

On constructed: Won't see play, there are better equipment options.
On limited: I don't think that this will ever be first-pickable, but you should feel fine taking it early. It's the best common equipment, hands down.

Funny how highly crap cards like these get rated when a set is new. Can't imagine ever playing this card in even the most casual constructed deck, and only when I'm very very desperate in limited. 0.5/5

Solid equipment. But i wouldn't take it before 6-7 pick. Especially for white.
And equipment is unplayable in standard, unless it's borken and aggressively priced. And this one isn't.

Someone killed me at the scars prerelease with this equipped to a platinum emperion. I was playing green/red, with a molten-tail masticore. The damn thing wouldn't die. The worst part was that i'd got him down to about 8 poison counters, and could've won if he hadn't turned my blight mamba to slag.

Anyone else notice how rare First Strike is in this set? Probably because it's the best defense against creatures with Infect. Only 5 cards let you deal FS damage: a Double-strike sorcery(useless for blocking), an instant for that lasts one turn, and two creatures that only have First Strike conditionally. Those conditions are: being pumped full of , or wearing some equipment. If you're using equipment anyway, may as well use this too.
Don't pass on this in a draft. If there's Infect on the table, yours or anyone else, you want to have First Strike.

It's underwhelming for constructed play, but definitely worth in Limited. If you're playing an infect deck, this is wonderful. If you're playing against an infect deck, this is only mediocre, since any unblocked creature with infest can be pushed absurdly with Untamed Might.

A colorless double non green abilities for Putrefax... Sure, it costs 7 mana... but in green... mana flows...

Basilisk Collar and Bladed Pionions?
Deathtouch + first strike = kill stuff repetitively
Plus a nice lifelink bonus.
And then flying to kill fliers
Not bad even on its own--flying is always handy

1cmc more than Neurok Hoversail for First Strike? Nice! Good against Infect stuff, not to mention the artwork is so BA just like Bladed Pinions. I'm dying to get these cards to play them together. :D

Scars is throwing tons of good equipment at us these days. First strike only appears on one other equipment card in standard currently, and that's Sword of Vengeance, which doesn't even offer evasion.

Gives all colors (green) easy access to flying. It having first strike makes it amazing in scars block since it's such a power ability with and against infect and battle cry.

Surprisingly good for Infect. This on a creature like Ichor Rats is quite a threat. Still, even in Infect its tough to decide whether to play this or Ichorclaw Myr.

Depending on what you're after, Viridian Claw will pump your guys up cheaply and quickly, or this will give your guys flying for that attacking/defending edge.
Great in infect decks imo. If used strategically, your first strike infect will reduce the damage of an attacker to a non-lethal amount.

This is a GREAT card. A staple in my G, B, U poison deck & is absolute key to many of that decks victories. Best common in the set.

For a common equipment it's pretty good, it's not great by any means but compared to the other equipment that give flying it's actually really good, especially with all of the deathtouch in the Innistrad block, casual Pauper here I come

@Minus_Prime You have to think that first strike is also one of the best offenses for creatures with Infect. Dealing first strike infect damage will kill or make their creature weaker making your creature really unlikely to die

Slap on Typhoid Rats and suddenly you have a one-drop common killing Emrakul.

Two very powerful abilities on an equipment that sticks around if they blow up your creature.
