I'm rather disappointed about this card only providing colorless mana.
Would have been much more interesting if this card provided mana of any color, and would also make more sense on top of that when taking a look at the artwork. These mana cans are pretty much colored, aren't they?
Although it's less versatile than the horse, i personally prefer Composite Golem.

This guy would be much better if it was mana of your choice and you could put 1/1 counters on him.

An armored horse? Cool.
The card itself is not really good - but it may quite useful for upcoming colorless Eldrazi creatures. But still, it seems that this set will have better mana acceletation than Workhouse...

Could be awesome with Modular creatures.

LOOK AT MY HORSE, MY HORSE IS actually quite underwhelming and leaves a lot to be desired for.

I mean, the CMC is really a bit prohibitive for a mana source, and it doesn't even provide colored mana. Which is odd, since it clearly can do so in the picture. I imagine I would be quite angry if I ever came across this in a booster instead of another better rare.

DiTerlizzi rocks my socks, unfortunately the art is the best part of this card. The nod to Triskelion is cool, but 1 damage is so much better than 1 colourless mana that it doesn't seem worth sticking to the 6-mana 4/4 pattern.

Cool idea, bad execution. Pairing the ability with an artifact creature I can understand but not a this mana cost. The cost should have been lowered and the stats adjusted accordingly.

Wish you were green, especially in Tempest block with the Spikes to play with.

this art makes it seem like the wizard who made him was into furries.

I agree with the general consensus that mana of any color would've been far better. But there's some potential (janky) usefulness; since there's no activation restriction, it can be popped all at once for a four-mana burst.

If you power him out early - say, T3 Palladium Myr, T4 this guy - You can then have a one-time burst of 11 mana on turn 5. (Assuming you've dropped a land each turn.)

That's far from exceptional, but it's certainly an interesting way to get a lot of mana in a sudden. T5 Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or Darksteel Colossus isn't too bad either, especially considering you get style points for doing it so strangely.

master transmuter can keep bouncing it to your hand and play it for 1 {U} , thats 6 mana for 1 {U} and a 1/1 creature. assuming the transmuter doesnt die?

EDIT: just seen a mirran spy ;) convert your blue manna into 3X as much colourless mana and im sure someone can find a card that can turn colourless mana to coloured mana
(mycosynth lattice perhaps?) still as much mana as you like by turn 4

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed just made this card playable.

when using it with Rite of Replication don't forget to let at least one counter on it or other things to keep it alive until the spell resolves. And I may quote from Rite of Replication: "It won't copy counters on the creature, nor will it copy other effects that have changed the creature's power, toughness, types, color, or so on."

Nobody mentioning the interaction with Experiment Kraj? Use all sorts of other effects in order to boost him Experiment up, then Experiment can use the activated ability of this thing in a pinch to generate massive amounts of (admittedly colorless) mana.

Not bad considering how exploitable this horse has become over the years due to his use of +1/+1 counters rather than charge counters or other obscure methods.

This guy is actually a major player in my mono-red kiki-jiki EDH. The fact that hes an artifact, and a creature with power less than 2, makes him very easy to tutor up using either kuldotha forgemaster, or imperial recruiter, though generally its kuldotha forgemaster because i can just get priest of urabrask with the recruiter. The combo goes like this, kiki-jiki, Mirror breaker, this guy, umbral mantle/sword of the paruns, infinite colorless mana, horses, and death triggers depending on what you want to do :)
