Young Braids suffers like all the other cards which "share the love" with your opponents (Howling Mine, Eladamri's Vineyard, Kami of the Crescent Moon etc.) from the fact that you are the last player who gets rewarded. And being a creature increases the risk that she is gone and you get nothing when your next turn begins. That said, she guarantees great moments in multiplayer if she somehow sticks around.
You could try to play her at instant speed with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, Winding Canyons or Vedalken Orrery.

The key is to have bigger & better creatures or artifacts than your opponents, eg. Deep-Sea Kraken, Kederekt Leviathan, Darksteel Colossus or whatever. Of course, if Braids dies before I put out my critters it's basically game over. Using a Vedalkin Orrery to play it with flash didn't really work for me - if anything it'd be better to play Braids earlier (with High Tide, say) when they wouldn't expect it.

Seriously though, just shove this in a deck with 4x Bringer of the Blue Dawn
4x Time Warp
4x Walk the Aeons
With maybe a Mindslaver or 2 and you have yourself a crazy kill.

Taking 3-9 turns in a row is pretty fun, especially when you get to draw 2 cards before her ability resolves, and stuff your deck with Gilded Lotus and Mindstone :)

This card is an essential card to have out in an Eternal Dominion deck. It still allows you to play the majority of your permanents without actually playing them. Plus, this card paired with a Paradox Haze or two is just awesome anyways.
I give it a 4.5

The art, compare to the black version, she looks far more approachable and... cute :)

Braids is so cute when she's not brutally slaughtering innocent people <3

I have a bit of a paper crush on blue Braids. I'm a little ashamed.

Lad, I'm right there with ya' :P
Anywho, I wanna make her my general. I'd follow her anywhere. Even to the jaws of defeat :D

Oh, it turns out she's actually a fairly good general, given proper support.
And she's still quite cute. No need to be ashamed Laguz :)

Just imagine dropping Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with Braids here; and then using your free turn to drop one of the other titans. And all perfectly legal in Vintage.

Did you know you can cast Eldrazi? Emrakul, the Aeons Torn requites it to be cast for the extra turn trigger.

duel decks, Braids, conjurer adept vs Braids, Cabal minion!
damn now I want to make a couple theme decks...

Braids is a wonderful EDH general if you're willing to make the deck revolve completely around her. And that almost requires you to play blue as though it were green. Although dropping a Mindslaver without worrying about it getting countered is pretty nifty.

Laguz,
It looks like you aren't the only one. :)
I agree that she is very cute. :)

The art for the Avatar card is even cuter... Very huggable.

Great card though. Has a "group hug" feel to it.

As has been said before, she is AWESOME as an EDH General. Filling your deck with large, powerful and versatile creatures is the way to go with her. The Darksteel artifacts would work monstrously well here, aswell as other fantastic artifacts, and then there are several big blue creatures you can use. Throw in a couple nice spells and the deck will really shine.

Plus, I to must admit....SHE.IS.SOOOO.CUUUUTE!!!

Best way to cast Storm Crow. Ever.

Ah, Braids, how I love the.

It's like she has a Gate to the Æther in her pocket. Combining the two would be hilarious, but even by herself she has so much potential.

Im curious how does she work with the artifact lands, when you do that can it count as an artifact?

Play her with Vanishing and phase her out at the end of your turn and she phases in at the beginning of your next turn then phase her out after she triggers/before the end of your turn.

Two card Show and Tell combo in the same color except...your opponent doesn't get any of the benefit for the cost of BlueBlue every turn.

Possibly not the most cost effective ever, but Quicksilver Amulet her at the end of your opponent's turn, then Crystal Shard her before the end of your turn so she isn't around to share that love with anyone else. And combo with Paradox haze. 5 mana to pop two big beatsticks a turn down. Add a bucket load of card drawing and have fun. :-)

It's too bad that she doesn't allow you to cast enchantments, cause Omniscience would've been perfect :P

Another downside to this card is that your opponent will get more use out of it as they will get to cast a free spell before you do, unless you have leyline of anticipation or something along those lines.

Leyline of Anticipation. You flash her out at the end of their turn, and then get your free card first.

Question: If I have a Mycosynth Lattice on the field, can I drop Enchantments, Planeswalkers, Instants and Sorceries with Braids?
Technically, they are artifact cards!

Perfect EDH commander for all the 'casual' hypocrites out there!

"What? You play infinite combos? NO, that´s not funneh and gay!"
"Let´s all rather play Heartless Hidetsugu + Lifelink, or Braids, so we can play Ulamogs on turn 3."
"Yay, that´s so much fun!"

I like playing this because it just makes everything more fun, even if I get the effect last.
Same with the Kami of the Crescent Moon.

"This multiplayer game is stale, and nobody seems able to do anything interesting..." sighed Braids. Strapping on her goggles, she smiled and said, "Time to get this party started."
nemokara

@Iceeharmony - Mycosynth Lattice only affect permanents on the battlefield. Instants and sorceries are never permanents. And enchantments or planeswalkers wouldn't count as permanents while they're in your hand. So if you're actually asking a serious question and not just being tongue-in-cheek, the answer is no.

This is the fair version of Show and Tell. Why would I say it like that? Well, your opponent gets the benefit first, has a chance to remove it, it costs more mana, and the earliest most blue players can get this out and benefit from it is T5 (T4 but they have to wait), rather than T2 in typical show and tell decks.

Those 2-3 turns and creature vs. sorcery make a world of difference.

She can do very well in tribal decks that punish other players for not playing similar tribes.

Example -

Anowan, the ruin sage and Olivia Voldaren

Use Olivia to turn Braids into a vampire, then use Anowan to force the opponent to sac their free creature every turn. Meanwhile you are running vamp fatties like Lord of Lineage and Vampire Nocturnus =)

Another example -

Rise from the Grave or Ghoul Flesh + Call to the Grave

Same idea, except in zombie tribal. There are plenty of lords such as Death Baron , Cemetery Reaper , Lord of the undead , Undead Warchief , Adaptive Automaton , and others that can make a deck work.

The basic idea as you can see is to stay in theme and protect your creatures while getting rid of theirs. But I digress. The classic strategy of cheating in fatties like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Progenitus will probably always be the best strategy with Braids, she's just too good for it. And I have to admit, she is freakin' hot as a conjuror adept =)

I can't give this card enough love. She is in my artifact deck and allows me to drop some pretty nasty stuff very quickly. Give her a Whispersilk Cloakand let chaos reign.

Prophet of Kruphix to flash her in on your opponents turn, immediately drop any creature you can cast. Or just find any other way to flash her in on your opponents turn.

What downside?
