An interesting creature, capable of removing either one or (with careful timing) two enemies for a while, or rescuing one of your creatures by removing it from reality until your next turn. I particularly like the aggressive use of this creature: clearing two blockers out of the way can matter a LOT when you're considering whether or not to manage an all-out attack. Equivalent to tap-down with the added benefit of protection, really.

If the tap requirement were taken out of the activation cost, this card would have been a really fun card for casual and EDH; It would have been an interesting precursor to Mistmeadow Witch.

@sc umbling:
Without the tap requirement, this card would be insane.
Also, this and Mistmeadow are really far apart from each other. Mistmeadow allows for ETB abilities, and phasing does not.

With that said, i really want to throw this into my Myr deck, along with some Xenograft's, so i can infinitely phase out my opponent's creatures.

so this is an annoyingly funny card. I mean, just really for casual. but still funny. i mean, darksteel colossus... hahaha nope not today. yeah a little slow, but there's worse 2/2's for 3. and this guy is pretty much a staple in a phasing deck...

The activation cost of this card is actually pretty cheap compared to cards with similar effects. It's very versatile: keeps your guys alive, counters enchantments, removes attackers and blockers. And all that for the same mana as a counterspell.
This guy is solid in casual.

By the way, remember that phasing is broken with "at the end of turn" effects such as unearth or creatures brought back by puppeteer clique. If you phase the creature before the end of the turn, the trigger will go off and be ineffectual. The creature will simply come back in next turn as if you summoned it last turn.

Probably better off with a captain of the mist or another tap engine like icy manipulator
