Those who examine the amulet too closely have been known to see all of the Praetors crammed together into the General Lee, driving at full speed towards their face.

@ mutantman
It's all about perception & distinction. When you look at the moon when it's dawn, it looks rather large due to the fact your sizing it up with the horizon. But when it gets between 2-4 a.m. it looks pretty dinky with the nights veil. Take a half dollar, but it up to your face & see if it looks big to your or not and than set it down ;)
I also have a legality Q: Can you use this to cast Myr Superion?
SarpNasty
★★★★★ (5.0/5.0)(5 votes)
@Korbl
Yeah, you aren't castingthe creature care in your hand, you're putting it onto the battlefield. Therefore you can put a the Myr Superion into play. By the same effect, you couldn't put a into play Phage without losing, and a creature with a "When you cast this creature" effect (such as the eldrazi) won't have those effects activated.

@ Sir Malkin - I believe those who became "part of its ornate carvings" are the creatures you are summoning with the amulet (I didn't immediately grasp it either).

Don't forget the possibility of piper-ing out a creature on your opponent's turn. This card is not to be underestimated, because I remember how beastly it was in Urza block, and in a world full of eldrazi, fatties, giant angels and dragons, this can be quite nasty.

you know what I love most about this card? see the creature to the immediate right of the ruby in the center of an amulet? yeah, that's a sharktopus. thumbs up, wizards, thumbs up for putting a sharktopus on such an awesome card.

But seriously, great strategic possibilities with this card. Like Equinox523 said, the real fun beings when you start playing creatures on your opponents turn, drop a fattie right in the middle of combat, or at the end of their turn.
Add Voltaic Key, repreinted just in time, and, like MrBarrelRoll said, Grand Architect and you could get a serious field advantage really quickly, and really early.

This gets whatever you want into play turn 3 if you build your deck right, Begining of game reveal Chancelor of the Tangle and drop 2 lanowar elves, or 2 arbor elves, or 2 birds of paradise, or any combination on turn 1, turn 2 play amulet, turn 3 play any big creature you happen to have in hand. Not a consistant deck but when Emmy is on the battlefield by turn 3 your opponent is not very happy.

I used to run a deck with 4x Elvish Piper 4x Thousand-year Elixir, however the problem was that it was largely too inconsistent, even in casual. Summoning trap and Mana reflection were far more consistent in either finding emrakul/ulamog in my top 7 or just hard casting them.
This will suffer from the same issue, you either have the amulet and all support cards or useless fatties and no amulet. Even as a 1x thrown in to smooth out a curve, it'll still either come too late or too early for it to be useful.

I never thought WOTC is bringing this old lad back into the game, working wonders simply by making sure your creatures do hit the board safe and sound.
I highly advise each and everyone of you to get it from your closest Card Store ASAP.
And remember, 4 colorless is better than CMC larger than 6 with different combinations of mana, so there you have it.

played a guy running b/u in limited who played this right before I was about to end the game. he begged to play out one more turn with him saying he'd concede, so on his turn, using two islands and two swamps, threw out a furyborn hellkite. he was 1-3 that day but considered it a success overall.

I have a feeling this will see a lot of play (probably in playsets) when Innistrad comes out. The double-sided flip cards that transform when no spells are cast in the turn will transform at the next upkeep after they are put onto the field with Quicksilver Amulet's effect, that is, if no spells were played. In the end you might get a 6/4 for 4 CMC, or likewise, a 4/6 for 3 CMC (Tormented Pariah and Villagers of Estwald when Innistrad is released).

The sad part is that this will be IMMEDIATELY answered BEFORE IT EVEN HITS THE TABLE by any competent magic player. Quicksilver Amulet = Auto-Counter ingame.
And these are only a FEW examples of what the opponent can do. Be prepared to defend the amulet before you even cast it, otherwise you will only be wasting mana. Good indicators that it is safe to cast-
1. Your opponent has no cards in hand 2. Your opponents lands are all tapped 3. You have at least one way to counter a counter, just in case.

So many people I know hate this card.
I have no idea why, since it basically is a much more fair version of Elvish Piper.
it can be used for any colour, and it could pay itself off very quickly when using it to cast such biggy's as any of the praetors or the titans. Heck, if you play it on turn 8, and use the remaining 4 mana for its ability (hopefully you've played 8 lands before this), then you can get Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur without waiting for it to pay itself off in time.

They seriously need to get this guy to do more art. Look on the gatherer, he's only done something like ten cards, and each one of them have INCREDIBLE art. I want to be able to make a Brad Rigney deck some day.
Oh! And don't forget: this isn't just a "reduce the CMC of fatties" card. It also effectively gives your creatures flash. It is fun to watch the other guy sweat as you're sitting pretty with 4 untapped lands on his turn.

If you see this on your opponent's side of the battlefield, you do not want to let it survive. Shenanigans will ensue. Definitely one of the premier fattie-cheapeners in the game.
If you run this with Braid of Fire it means getting a creature out during upkeep pretty easy.
A better idea is still to use it at the end of your opponents turn but it's still a good back up with you're hurting for mana.

I have been working o a deck, using this card I can bring Progenitus with just 4 lands, all the abilities of the card applies? Bring the card with another card like Maelstrom Archangel, say "you may play", on the rules this card can be countered, but is different if the card say "You may put".

Better then piper, because artifact removal is far less common then creature.
Turn 6 Ulamog. While I wouldn't consider this a degenerate EDH play (I mean, it's two cards out of 99), I still felt guilty as he sacrificed half his lands. And took 11. And proceeded to scoop.

@Ferlord You don't know why people hate this card? Are you that daft? It's colorless, immune to creature removal, can be used the turn it comes out, and can drop creatures of any color for players playing any color. All of these things you are aware of, but apparently you think it's fair to get game-ending creatures out exceptionally early. I would agree this is 'fair' in a tournament setting, but in a casual setting, it isn't particularly fun to play against.
