Love the card... fun, fun, fun! You're always going to put something worse in play, whether it be Progenitis, Serra Avatar, or Akroma, Angel of Wrath

A key card for the combo deck that has Dream Halls in it. Use this to get Dream Halls onto the battlefield and start pitching cards to cast spells.

Hahah this can drop any Eldrazi onto the field so easily for legacy format.
I see high potential abuse for this card though not so useful now a days for pro-tournaments.

I thought this was supposed to be in the Unhinged and Unglued set at first glance. Good card though.

Is there any way to counter Show and Tell using RDW deck?
I run RDW but I have not found a way to counter that card except pyroblast or Red elemental blast.
Even that is not easy when Show and Tell decks usually run 4 copies of Force of Wills and Dazes.

One of the reasons why emrakul got banned in EDH.

o-O, when my friend told me about this card, i thought he was lying.

/gets to making a show and tell control with progenitus.

show and tell is a activity on elementary school, so whit a Emrakul, the Aeons Tornit would be something like;
"hey jhonny look what i have brought for show and tell a big ugly spaghetti monster" or
"teacher larrry's show and tell subject is trying to eat my schoolbag can you please tell him to let his ..... "thing" stop?" But that all would never happen, i think you'l be to old for show and tell by the time you found a way to get him inside.

*waits until opponent is tapped out*

"I'd like you to meet... Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur!!!
And you?
Oh... cool Mountain, dude. Did your mom make that for you?"

Like a mini-Eureka, minus the Planeswalkers.

This is a *very* powerful card if your opponent isn't holding anything,
and if you're playing Blue, that shouldn't be a huge challenge.

I'm somewhat amazed this isn't restricted or banned yet.

Could work both ways if your opponent's holding good stuff too, but when combined with emrakul, the aeons torn or something big it's way too fast on turn 3.

@ drpvfx

I'm somewhat amazed this isn't restricted or banned yet.

No real need. Show and Tell decks (or Sneak and Show as they're often called due to the frequent combination of Show and Tell and Sneak Attack), while strong and having a presence, are far from tournament dominators. There's just too many viable answers in the formats it's legal in (Vintage and Legacy) for it to be worth banning.

It's too bad they haven't made a "Run and Hide" card to follow this one up flavor-wise. It could even say "Each player returns target permanent he or she controls to its owner's hand". They could cost it at 3Blue or 2BlueBlue to further emphasize the flavor.

This is an 'even' card, and unlike Wrath of God, it's actually difficult to build your deck or play your game to REALLY take away the 'drawback'- unless you simply cast it faster and your opponent is playing a 'normal' deck with a much lower curve- which is how MOST decks you play against will be built, and is how it gets its wins MOST of the time...but even then, at any moment, if they have a single card in their hand, they might be able to equalize with you. And nobody expects the Mad Johnny Inquisition!

Sideboarding your own Progenitus, Griselbrand, or Emrakul and a Demonic Tutor in a non-Show and Tell deck feels like a fun way to beat Show and Tell in a pinch, and in the mirror game, I can imagine it must be VERY difficult and scary trying to figure out when to play Show. (Fetch the Big Monster asap, so when they cast SaT, you get yours too)

The way I like to make Sideboards, since I will never be fooled into thinking I'm a Pro, is this-- "What decks do I want to beat?" "What is the most face-palming inducing way to beat them?" Sometimes, I end up making a section of my sideboard for a deck I even already have a good matchup against, but the point is not so much 'the most boss efficiency/consistent kill ever'- the point is the face-palm.

Unless you're deck has a face-palm condition, you're Doing It Wrong. :)

I despise this card.

Note that I've never actually even seen a copy of it, but apparently it's causing Omniscience to see play in Vintage (or Legacy or something), and I wanted to grab copies of that without them being expensive. >_>

This card is part of the new T1-kill legacy combo deck, thanks to the release of Omniscience. There are many, but this seems to be the most reliable. When in-hand, you get:

Ancient Tomb, Lotus Petal, use them to cast this, and put Omniscience into play. Use Omniscience to hard-cast Emrakul, The Aeons Torn, and that nets you the extra turn. Good game.

Well... from what I've pieced together, I think that's Ertai in the centre, Mishra to his left, and to Mishra's left... uhh... Teferi? I mean, I think they all went to the same academy.
I could EASILY be wrong...

No idea who the person with the white face-paint is, though.

You know, I don't understand what it would even mean for a wizard to cast this spell.

I understand what it means to cast, say, Fireball, but what would it look like when I cast "Show and Tell," causing me to reveal Emrakul, the Aeons Torn?

It just makes 0 sense from a flavor perspective. Did I bring Emrakul with me to class? Is that what casting Show and Tell means? Then why is it a spell that you cast?

On top of that, just a BS card to face. Unless you've brought along a deck with some kind of counterspell ready, this is game over every time it is played.

My favorite story of playing AGAINST this card is was this: It's game 3 of a legacy grand prix match, I've got leyline of the void already out some other lands and a scrubland untapped. He plays show and tell he puts his card down, I put down mine. He flips his over it's emrakhul, I flip mine over it's helm of obedience, I tap the scrubland and activate the helm of obedience targeting him. He stares for about 20 seconds at it picks it up and reads it about 4 times, then says "Well..... uh that's never happened, um.... f*ck.... show and tell for the lose?" and then scoops and quickly signs the results and walks away.

Tommy's excitement to show his class the mystical curio of the orient that he borrowed from his uncle was quickly crushed when he saw among the other children's offerings a powerful demon, a demonstration of godlike abilities, the very Soul of the World, and a gigantic gravity-defying, plane-destroying titan from the Blind Eternities. Embarrassed at having brought something so paltry in comparison, he feigned ill went home early.

He was the lucky one, for show and tell that day had no survivors.

I like the card. It's like a small Eureka.
Artwork and Flavortext are quite funny.
Sad that the latest generations of gigantic monsters (Progenitus, Emrakul and Griselbrand) and Omniscience turned it into a broken tool.

To those that rated down "continue", I believe he's referencing a famous game where a Battle of Wits deck won off of a show and tell played by his opponent.
