I would still play this over Elite Vanguard, just because it reminds me of Lion King.
And i have yet to use soldiers, so they are essentially the same card to me.

I believe Elite Vanguard is a little more playable due to him being a soldier. This is because he gets buffs from cards such as Veteran Swordsmith, Veteran Armorsmith and of course Captain of the Watch.

after your 5th one your really start *HATE* pulling this. its a solid card, but a 1 drop vanilla creature rare? WTF?
Elite Vanguard is the PERFECT white one drop. 2/1 uncommon *Soldier*.
all that aside, pretty solid card
