If you've been milling yourself, it shouldn't be that hard getting five or even ten creatures in your graveyard.

Potentially good with Postmortem lunge and self-mill shenanigans. Swing with a hasty cagebreaker and get plenty of wolves who stick around.

If this card is PETA, does that make Victim of Night Michael Vick?
I love this card, but in my Spirit/Human deck all my tokens make it harder to get a big graveyard. :/ Regardless, I always get 2+ wolves despite him not fitting perfectly in my deck. I'll give em a 5/5.

Notice the wolf tokens DO NOT disappear! Very cool.
Lot of mana for a 3/4 that doesn't do anything if he dies to removal, BUT has the potential to win games with even a single swing in the right deck.
@J***: CiP creatures are one way to hedge bets against removal. Others are creatures with haste (good when enemy is tapped out or has sorcery-speed removal), creatures immune to one or more forms of common removal, creatures who recur themselves, and creatures with effects on death. This meets barely any of those conditions (doesn't die to Incinerate, at least), and costs five mana, which is quite a bit more than any removal spell will cost (even more than Day of Judgment). All this is to say that this card in particular is very vulnerable to removal, more so than average. But the ability for crazy game-winning swings might make it worth it.

Wolf token generate... a pretty decent one at that. I can see a Human/Elf/Elemental Wolf token deck
Spliterfright is an elemental like wolfbriar, that will dump monsters into the Graveyard for this cards effect.
Doomgape :: Fills the graveyard with creatures while giving you life in the process! Worst comes to worst, just sack a token for 2 health and keep your key cards on the field.
Arbor Elf / Elvish Pioneer / Joraga Treespeaker / Llanowar Elves :: All of these are great folder for Wren's Run Packmaster, all of which have great Mana ramp ability. Joraga isn't the best choice for Champion effect because it would more likely remove his level counters.
Honestly, I can see this being a great card for Wolf Token Generator decks.

With no ramp, and an aggressive deck, you can drop him mid-game, then swing for lethal pretty much every time. Coming with a 3/4 (or 4/5, or 5/6, if you have a Mayor of Avabruck or two out, and adding 5-6 2/2s along with it is a lot for any defender to handle. With the Mayor transformed, or a Terror of Kruin Pass out, it gets even better. Big wolves out of nowhere, that are evasive enough that at least half of them should get through? Yes, please.
RDW seems to be leaning toward R/G aggro with this set, and I like it.

I'll stick with Nacatl Warpride. They have totally different uses most of the time. While they can both act as finishers, the Warpride tends to obliterate the opponents position. Also note that the Warpride gets huge guys through.
Good card though, 3.5/5

4 Mulch 4 Forbidden alchemy 4 wreath of geists 4 ghoulcaller's bell
Based on my kitchen table playtesting, you should get approx. 10 wolf tokens somewhere between turns 6 - 8 , everytime. Then just tap those splinterfrights as well, and it's no longer a laughing matter... For your opponent, that is. I always laugh like hell when I get to do that

I had mixed feelings about this card - but postmortem lunge and mulch changed my mind. I've been toying with BUG - for dreamtwist and armored skaab, which all help load the pot, and snaps, for retrieving lunges - but am wondering if the new set is going to let me get away with just Black and Green.
One of the underrated things about this card - it just feels really good to swing when you've got a grip's worth of creatures in the ground. I'm a convert.

@Hanksingle was experimenting with BUG also. however i go for mulch + forbidden alchemy + deranged assistant to fuel my graveyard.
one approach that i think works with this is to have rangers guile or any instant to protect Cagebreakers and a swiftfoot boots on the board for instant death.
My playgroup is just dumbfounded with being attacked by 20 wolves. Its quite easy when they tap out for their fatty, when ur turn comes they'll be over run.

I'm using this with Birthing Pod. It's nice cause I can sacrifice my way to it, filling my graveyard with creatures to make 2/2's with along the way. I've also made the four drop I tutor for an Academy Rector and so when I swap him for the Cagebreaker I put a Parallel Lives on the field so I get double the sac'd creatures. It seems complicated but once I get one Birthing pod it takes care of itself.

Insane in my self-mill deck. A lot of the time it'll get removed before it can attack (especially in multiplayer) because it's such a high profile target, but then you just bring it back with Postmortem Lunge and swing with thirteen wolves in their face. :D

Innistrand has done a great job with the human creature type and this card is no exception. This is going to be your key damage card in your self-mill or scarifice deck. I mean, even if he dies during the attack, if you've been playing it right your oppoent will still have to deal with 5+ 2/2 wolves swarming him. A card that just demands that you play multiple copies and substancial power-ups.
But what if he ends up in the graveyard? That's why they have cards like Back from the Brink and Postmortem Lunge.

I made a deck around the graveyard in standard, and this is just amazing. I figured Ghoultree might be the allstar but I was wrong. Amazing card, even if there's just a couple creatures in your grave it pumps out a couple tokens.

@AlbinoSnowman: No Victim of the Night isn't Micheal Vick. That title falls to Wren's Run Packmaster As for this guy. He's okay. He'll probably eat a kill spell, but if it does connect it could get silly.

Works well with Exalted, because the wolf tokens are never declared as attackers.
Attacking with Kessig Cagebreakers alone will bring a horde of wolves, but the Cagebreakers will still get bonuses from every Exalted effect you have. I expect these rogues to continue breaking cages well into 2013.

This card can win games on its own if it isn't dealt with early on. If your deck just has even 2 or 3 creatures in it, that's 6 damage split into 2/2's that your opponent needs find a solution for in addition to this guy. You could even fog yourself to save the wolves from being removed, and you'll have twice as many for the next turn!
I got my friends afraid of this card overnight after originally doubting its playability. In the right setup, these guys just devour an opponent.
Definitely one of my favorite cards. Not only because it's powerful, but because it's fun to play and doesn't always ruin the game for my opponent.

I run several of these in my heavily modified grave power deck (it's an intro deck from Dark Ascension). It's not unusual for me to swing with 13 creatures in my graveyard. If you're thinking about running a deck like that, here are some suggestions:
Helpful cards: Armored Skaab: General self-mill Dawntreader Elk: Land on the field, creature in the graveyard. What more do you want? Tracker's Instincts/Forbidden Alchemy/Mulch: Self-mill that's a little less random. The flashback is a nice addition Tower Geist: Self-mill, card advantage Roaring Primadox: Good for recurring your Armored Skaabs and Tower Geists Mirror-Mad Phantasm: I personally have mixed feelings towards this (it's killed me before), but it can work well under the right circumstances
As for other cards that capitalize off of your dead creatures: Splinterfright: Self-mill built into a card that lives off of your dead creatures. Swing for some pretty ridiculous damage later in the game Boneyard Wurm: If you can't afford Splinterfrights Ghoultree: Because playing a 10/10 for is just priceless Spider Spawning: Friends for your army of wolf tokens; flashback so it isn't useless in your graveyard Gnaw to the Bone: Play this right, and you'll get 40 life for six mana
And finally: Laboratory Maniac: Just in case something messes up and you end up milling yourself; great alternate win-con, especially when your opponent is running heavy control

If this had haste it would be a mythic. So run it with Lightning Mauler.
Works great with Gruuls bloodrush ability from Return to Ravnica.
:Declare attack -cagebreakers ability on the stack- :Bloodrush something -gives cagebreakers the boost-, -ability checks number of cads in graveyard- And now you're attacking with a bigger cagebreaker and an additional 2/2 wolf
