Oh my, these double-faced cards are hard to read on Gatherer. I like the idea of a double-faced 'walker though, nice thought. Yet...another Garruk? Can we please add a new green planeswalker to the stroyline?

Quick question, does he start with whatever loyalty counters he has from his green self (eg 1/1 hits him and he transforms), or he starts at 1?
Rather low costing abilites for a planeswalker

Don't worry too much. Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is a pretty strong hint that we'll be seeing Kiora Atua as a {U}{G} sometime in this set, especially since they pulled Ral Zarek (as indicated in the game files) to put her in.
I guess if you're looking for mono-green walkers that's a disappointment though. :\

There are no Elder Dragons on Alara either, but that didn't stop one from going there once.

Garruk the DFC Plague. Possibly the only reason why Transform Cards where implemented as annyoing doublefaced cards instead of superior neo-flip cards (just able to flip back).

This is the most melvin planeswalker to date
his fight ability works with his 2/2 wolf to flip him
his plus 1 sets up his minus one perfectly
his minus one fills your graveyard for his minus 3
his plus one lets the entire boost from his minus 3 trample over with the deathtouch.

First hybrid planewalker frame! First planeshifted hybrid frame as well!
The type and title background is dark grey - not because he's black - but because hybrid cards have light gray background and thus planeshifted hybrid frames should use a dark gray background.
Cool, if that's the sort of thing you're into.

I think he's the worst of the two Innistrad walkers, sure for other formats he's fantastic but actually getting him to flip and stay alive in this set is difficult with flashback making a come back. The new liliana is fantastic for this set though!

I really Goblin Fireslinger is probably the safest way to transform him, unless you could attack him with your own creatures (you can't do that, right?). Then, activate his +1 that turn to put a 1/1 wolf with deathtouch, then you can activate his ultimate next turn. It reaches its ultimate really quick, IMO, but you'd need to put a lot creatures in your grave AND battlefield to make it effective. Also, there is the issue that it sucks against Red, because a single Incinerate kills him, as I've mentioned in my incredibly hateful comment on Garruk Relentless.

New Garruk is very powerful. He removes one of their small creatures and transforms or spits out 2/2 wolves for free every turn. When he is transformed he becomes a nightmare for your opponent, creating dangerous deathtouching wolves that can attack with near impunity or block and kill anything that attacks you. He tutors for whatever creature you need, and his final ability can end the game.

I like the front side. Wolves wolves wolves wolves wolves wolves wolves wolves. I don't like how fragile Garruk is once he's flipped. He's just so vulnerable to Shock and Incinerate and what have you. Granted, he can start throwing out the wolves and gaining loyalty from it, but I really don't like that downtime where's he's so easy to kill.

+1 :: WOLF TOKEN WITH DEATH TOUCH FOR THE WIN! :D Death touch kills anything that fights it, no questions ask. If only wolves had more support.
-1 :: Wolf token decks now rely a lot on the graveyard, sacrificing a creature activates Morbid effects (Common for Green cards and other cards like that.) as well as feeds the effect for Gravecaller effects (Group name for "For every creature in your Graveyard" effects). Although, he would have 2 Loyalty counters to begin with, so I do not think the -1 effect would be wise right off the bat.
-3 :: At the most your going to have to wait for this is 1 turn because of his other forms "when it has 2 or less loyalty counters" effect. But pretty much game winning if you use the right way.

Why on earth would they do this? I love Garruk, and I really really enjoy the flavor of this card, but why make him Black when Wolf/Werewolf are R/G this block? I would have no issue at all if they had made all the wolves/werewolves B/G, but that's not the case.
Plus, I feel like his -1 ability makes him an auto $30+ card.

too much. overload.
In order to make room for more Walkers, I hope Garruk dies on Innistrad. I think his story is a GREAT one, I love the character, but the best thing you can really do with your best characters is to grant them Epic Death Scenes and a Curtain Bow to thunderous applause. In cases like Jace TMS, however, rather than granting him the honor of an on-stage death scene, you should instead de-power him or just stop writing about him. Looks like Wizards went with de-powering so they can tell more Jace stories. That's fine. I don't think they can make Garruk's story any better though- it's so fantastic, I feel like it's really setting up a climactic finish with Liliana, probably right before Dark Ascension. (Which mark my words, will be Wizards' Blackest Night. 3rd set very likely to be Brightest Day, and give White a shot in the arm to make up for the Evilfest of Set 2)
@Lyoncet- Look, as much as you want Kora Atua, (and actually, I do too- she'd be both green and blue, which would be a nice relief from Jace AND Garruk), she's just not going to Innistrad. She doesn't fit. They did the Lorwyn 5 in a plane where they really didn't belong, almost deliberately, to show off the wierd otherworldiness of PW's, but the Alarans all fit. Bolas was a perfect match with Grixis, since he's the embodiements of the full potential of those colors. But Innistrad is just SOO top-down, I highly doubt they will 'shake things up', with a complete non-human. Werewolves, Vampires, and Zombies are all part humans. Humans are going tribal for the first time ever. Innistrad's flavor and scenery is VERY well-defined, and there simply isn't room for Goblins, Merfolk, or Elves in it. Not even PWs. The two they have there so far fit in PERFECTLY with the plane, and we know Sorin is coming. He fits very well too. My best guess for set 3 is a new Gideon, or maybe Avacyn will be an Angel Planeswalker, equal and opposite of Nicol Bolas. This would finally give the good guys the kind of ally they need against the last 3 blocks of villains. Kiora would not be likely to have anything that could easily be tied to Innistrad, and you'll note that each of the Scars of Mirrodin PW had a strong tie to the plane- Elspeth was hunting Phyrexians Buffy-style, Venser was an artificer and friend of Karn, and Koth was a Volshok, and planar hero. What could you possibly draw as a connection between Kiora and Innistrad?
Ral Zarek, as a Red Blue scientist looking guy, has lots better chances. But Kiora will get either more DotP screentime, or be in the next block, or something. We haven't seen the last of either of these two, I think.
We might only get a webcomic for her, though. :/ Not saying I want that, just saying be prepared for disappointment, just in case.
I'm not saying that Kiora would be anythink like Nissa. I'm saying that everything I know about Kiora says she needs to have a more normal plane than Innistrad to shine. A large body of water, maybe with Kraken. She won't be tribal-y, because Nissa kinda tanked, but she has to feel sort of Merfolk-y, the way Koth feels pretty Vulshok-y. And that's why she can't be in Innistrad. She's not a Horror Trope, she's a Magic Trope. The spellcaster wizard hero fantasy creature of some sort. That could fit in on Ravnica, on Alara, on Zendikar, on Lorwyn, on Dominaria, but NOT on Mirrodin, on Innistrad, on Kamigawa, or on any other plane that seems very very different from 'mainstream' Magic. Kiora won't be in Innistrad. Period. Ral Zarek might be. Knowing Wizards, Sorin 2 will break Standard in half and everyone will forget the names of every Walker except Jace, Bolas, and Sorin, who will all then take 'Super Friends.dec' and turn it into 'Legion of Doom.dec' and rape Magic forever. :P

The minus -1 is great too, you can blow up your Perilous Myrs and Solemn Simulacrums, set up morbid and search for answers like Acidic Slime, which KILLS MORE THING! DEATHTOUCH-GASM!

I agree with Darth Parallax; Kiora Atua on Innistrad is unlikely. Mostly because one of the main selling points for this set is the world. Some radical new planeswalker would steal everyone's attention away from it. However Avacyn Restored is a large expansion, and will already be different from INN and DKA, so there's is still a dim possibility.
Garruk is actually part black because he punches puppies.
I love using this guy in a birthing pod/reanimation deck, it just goes overkill. If you're playing THG, it's easy to have your partner milling you out while you're using reclaim, disemtomb, and other such cards. His tutor ability is great with the new Undying mechanic, bringing in stuff like Strangleroot Geist as a 3/2 haste for GG and still looking for another creature to beat the crap out of them. 5/5.

"Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish, and unkind.
But then, one Winter's Night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single Rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold.
Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful Enchantress. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart. And as punishment, she transformed him into a Hideous Beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the Beast concealed himself inside his castle with a magic Mirror as his only window to the outside world.
The Rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year. If he could learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time. As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a Beast?"

@ rinoh20: That's exactly what I said when I first saw the card coming out. Whats so wrong about a werewolf Plansewalker that focused more on the transforming aspect of the card then just re-making an old card and calling it. I remember reading a statement somewhere that said they HAD plans for a werewolf Plansewalker (I doubt they would have made another Nissa Revane). It would have been nice having him have the No Card-Two Card transform claws and having his first side ability "Transforming Creature Cards" and his second side Buffing your creatures and "Becoming a Creature Card"
