You can turn this into a creature with March of the Machines and then swap wish counters around with Djinn of Wishes and Fate Transfer. Not that I can see that ever being practical.

I don't like that this is mythic. should be rare. I'm upset about this because I need multiples of these for multiple commander decks and I probably wont get more then one.

Not necessarily a bad card, but it's entirely too cost heavy and slow for most tournament play. In a format like EDH though, I can see this going in nearly every deck.

You can wish for more wishes by using the first ring to find the other three in your deck.
Regarding EDH, I dislike this card. It's too good--practically a must-have for almost any deck--and seriously, as if combo decks weren't already powerful enough!

Planar Portal is a serviceable multi-tutor (though slow), and this is cheaper on both costs. Sure you only get three cards, but often you are searching out your win condition at this point. You shouldn't need more than three cards.

@Knightaru This is far from a staple for EDH. REALLY far. To use this the turn you play it, it costs TEN mana. You could cast storm herd and win the game the next turn, or even on that turn.
Combo decks in EDH are strong, but this card will not really help them. There are WAY better tutors in the colours of your deck. This will maybe help mono-red and stuff like that since they can use it, but it's still extremely slow.

This is most likely a reference to one of the best items in the Dungeon & Dragons universe : "THE" Three Wishes Ring. Every D&D veterans will try to get that ring at some point in their game unless their DM says no. 5/5 from me just for the fact that I am a D&D fan.

Costly, but freaking awesome in Karn EDH. Reusable tutor that's also a 5/5 body? Yes, please.

I'd take Planar Portal over this for EDH. But now that I think about it, I usually don't even use portal more than a couple times in a game. Perhaps this could be better. Heck, why not run both. Anyways, needless to say, colorless tutoring is like sweet molasses in EDH, and this could find its way into most commander's ninety-nine.

Don't wish for anything dude! You lose risking the ring's pretty symmetry if one of the green lights on the side goes out first. And i'm sure you won't find a lumimagus that easily to turn the lights back on, especially in your eye color.

I learned something surprising today. Apparently with as much lifegain as is in this core set to stretch the game out it is technically possible to make this playable in sealed. Who knew?

Well, it's the more modern and less elegant version of planar portal. If you combo it with seedborn muse or similar effects, then planat portal is superior, since then the mana cost ain't as important and you will activate it quite often. If you play it without such combos, this version is superior.
I personally like the old card frames more, so if the question "this or planar portal" should ever arise to me, I'd go with the older one. :)
Wish 1: I wish that you don't grant my 2nd wish and that you don't die. Wish 2: I wish that you don't grant my 3rd wish and that you don't die. Wish 3: I wish that you don't grant my 1st wish and that you don't die.
Breakdown:
1. If Wish 1 is True, then Skip Wish 2, Go To Wish 3 2. If Wish 3 is True then Wish 1 is False, Go To Wish 2 3. If Wish 2 is True then Wish 3 is False, then Go To Wish 1 4. All Wishes are False. Wishes cannot be granted. 5. Wishes must be Granted. If all Wish = Not Die and all Wish = False, then True Wish = die? 6. Can't die because of Wishes. 7. ???? 8. PROFIT (Destroy any Wish Granter. Destroy all Wish Granters. Destroy Wishing.)
Things with proliferate (Thrummingbird, Contagion Clasp, and Inexorable Tide are my favorite grabs) keep the counters going on it. And, of course, if I can't keep the counters going, Vorel will at least get me one counter back per turn so long as I keep one on it.
Planar Portal is probably better considering you don't need all the counter managing crap to use it effectively. But if your deck is like mine, you'll be proliferating inevitably. That extra mana after using it could be just what you need. I know it's saved me before. Also, there's a chance you'll only need three cards to win anyways.
And remember, these are wish counters, not charge counters.

Comparing this to Planar Portal: Once you've tutored up three cards from your deck, why haven't you already won? So I think that this is usually going to be better.

For 1 mana more, you get a rare version that you can use as many times as you want! (Planar Portal)

Strong flavor, the card is overcosted though. Maybe 0/6 (cost/ability cost) would've been more appropriate? Spending 10 Mana/two turns for 1/3 Demonic Tutors doesn't feel powerful enough.

Costed high but it would work very well in a heavy mana ramp deck... The artwork on this card is well done. It's a beautiful card. I love the focus on the ring and the three green flames, one for each wish... Possibly telling you which mana ramp colour this would work best in?
I wish they could have included some flavour text... This is a mythic after all...
Strong and versatile card. I'm sure this will find a solid home in some strong constructed decks.
Someone compared this to Planar Portal. The extra 1 mana to drop it and play it is very steep... This comes out and activates much faster.. and if you can't win the game after tutoring for any three cards, you're doing it wrong....
Let me make this clear, if your deck is built properly this essentially reads
Suspend 2 -
win the game
It's easy to win off of 1-2 activations of planar portal, the fact that this has only 3 charges isn't really relevant, for what it's worth this ends up being just cheaper and overall better.
In Wort: Ramp to 12 lands in play, play, activate, get me Boundless Realms pass turn Cast boundless realms with conspire, activate, get me Comet Storm pass turn Untap and win game
In Kiki-Jiki: Get 10 lands play, activate find me Zealous Con***s untap, win game.
In Niv-Mizzet: Get 10 lands, Play, activate, find mind over matter untap, win game
This card sort of just wins games randomly. Also, as previously mentioned, if you are playing something like Vorel of the Hull Clade or contagion engine in your deck, you just sort of get all the tutors. 10+ mana may look extremely expensive on the face of it but, for what it does (wins the vast majority of the games it's activated), this card just sort of is that good. It may not win the game immediately, but, if you put the best 3 cards in your deck into your hand or assemble some kind of goofy combo on the spot, it's pretty hard to lose. 5/5 in edh

Its Planar Portal for less cmc and less activation. Seems very strong in multiplayer formats. Beacon of Tomorrows is much better with the portal but I would say this is stronger.
