Wow. Just... wow.
@hozemonkey: how does it work well with any of those?

@Hozemonkey: Thank you for the insight inherent in telling us that a card that benefits fliers and islandwalkers does, in fact, combo with two fliers and an Islandwalker. Have a cookie.

Had so much fun running this in UG ramp, glad it's back. Too bad Forsee and Harrow didn't make it.

Pre-release today.

Oppenent plays this.
Opponent deals me 8 damage.
I pull Switcheroo!

"Here, have one of my Drake tokens, I'll take your Leviathan."

Opponent: :( --> x_x

(Admittedly, he won the first and third games, though.)

Awesome Card In Limited/Sealed As Well As In Edh. Multiplayer Makes A Lot Of People Hate You When You Get Him In Play But That's Why Blue Has Counterspells Too. So People Wont Like You.

A powerhouse. My favourite finisher in my Heartless Summoning deck if the machinegun combo decides not to play ball.

Amazing and funny to play against certain decks when you can tutor this and literally say that on the next turn "I win."

4.5/5

A must have for all blue decks.
Makes all other creature types other then ones with island walk useless.

I love this card and I opened a foil! One day i'm gonna build a casual deck around it. Maybe green/blue so i can ramp into it and include simic sky swallower.

I have to say, this is the funnest card ever to play when your opponent plays tokens.

This card is like a mix of Lorthos, the Tidemaker and Inkwell Leviathan, being a bit better than the former though a bit less cool, and a bit worse than the latter though a bit more cool. Anyway, it's nice for monoblue to have a bunch of big fishy finishers to choose from. 5/5.

Stormtide has been an incredible creature since his debut back in M11.

Now that we've been given Master of the Pearl Trident and Talrand, people just might start running the one deck that has rarely, if ever, been possible: Mono-Blue Aggro.

It's really nice to see blue get big creatures like this. Blue is known for control and green is known for ramping. I'm half expecting someone to make a decent blue green deck out of this somehow.

One time I bought a single pack of M13.

Flipped through it one card at a time.

Had Searing Spear, Rancor, Flames of the Firebrand, Rewind,

and Ajani.

But I kept flipping, even though at this point people were cheering

Past the token and the land

And in the foil slot

Sat this.

So what did I do?

I picked it up,

readied my voice,

and said:

SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDER WHEN YOU SEE THE WHITE WHALE BREAK YOUR BACKS AND CRACK YOUR OARS MEN IF YOU WISH TO PREVAIL THIS IVORY LEG IS WHAT PROPELS ME HARPOONS THRUST IN THE SKY AIM DIRECTLY FOR HIS CROOKED BROW AND LOOK HIM STRAIGHT IN THE EYE

Then everyone in the store started chanting "WHITE WHALE HOLY GRAIL!"

At any rate that's how I got kicked out of FNM. Slightly embellished.

I like the flavor of this thing being so enormous that its very presence immediately floods the entire world.

What a great bomb! I won a pre-release tournament with this in a blue-green deck with Garruk and a lot of ramp.

So, this card has islandwalk, and all lands - mine, yours, all of 'em - are Islands (as well as whatever), and nothing except creatures with islandwalk can attack. 'Cause, you know, we all keep tons of landwalk creatures around, right?

Ok, to summarize:

1. Play Stormtide Leviathan
2. Opponent weeps

If you're playing with a cute girl - which may not be any time soon, but as a hypothetical - before you cast this, ask her if she wants to see your giant fish.

Played a friend with this card earlier today along with Harbor Serpent and told him he couldn't block because of Islandwalk. Due to the confusion of the game I had before that I barely agreed with him about him saying he could as long as he controlled an Island. (We were in a rush). Game should have been over 5 turns before he conceded. We played 5 turns after.

Been using this in a mill deck just to lock things down. Great art and I love the idea that it just breaks the land.

I love the flavor and the mechanics - this feels blue, and it feels rare! The flooding and the Island Sanctuary throwback are awesome touches.

Definitely a fun bomb in Azorius control. You should have enough blue/duals to cast this by T8, and you should definitely have enough removal/countermagic/trolling to survive until then.

SImilar to Inkwell, I always assume this guy has flying. It doesn't help that he is nearly always unblockable.

This card has saved me when I was in a pinch more than once.
Ex:
Me: 5 life
Opponent: 18 life

I manage to summon this, and BAM. The tides have been turned!

I also just thought of a funny combo: this + Master Biomancer + Sapphire Drake... Hello, Wind Fish! XD

Awesome card

I combo this with a Levitation in my blue/green deck and it gets nasty when you have 3-4 massive creatures with flying on the field and your opponent cant attack.

A huge huge huge card, but in a blue/white deck or some kind of blue aggro deck, this is pretty much a win condition. Wrecks the land base, stalls out the board, and swings in untouched. An ideal candidate for Infinite Reflection. Very slow, but if you've done your job in a control deck of stalling out the board and making life miserable, this might be your best bet as a creature win condition.

Pity he doesn't let Islandhome creatures attack. Poor poor Islandhome, we barely knew ye.
Stuflames

Some people posting seem to be forgetting that it's not just islandwalk that can attack, fliers do just fine.

Anyway, this is a pretty grand card.

This works well in a Simic Dissension Deck if you mod it right. That deck brings out lands really fast.
It also makes this thing even more terrifying.

played a game vs this huge monstrosity and didn't have any creature removal and watched i was hit for 8 point a pop until i died ! Expensive but i game finisher if it resolves.

I win games with this card.

Not because he's a beefy 8/8 with unblockable status. I just use him to lock the field down because nobody packs nearly enough flying, let alone islandwalk.

I win with this card, and I don't even sully my hands by killing them (go straight for the mill). That's the mark of an awesome creature, if you can keep him alive. And you're blue. Redirect and Counterspell l will have you covered.

This isn't a creature. this is a win condition.

This card is really good. If they can't kill it that's pretty much game, especially against any deck that doesn't have flyers.

Such a great finisher for monoblue control.

The cost isn't a problem for that sort of deck because the game will be going late if you're playing well, and you'll have more than enough counterspells to protect him once he's out. Once he hits the field, most enemy creatures can't attack and none of them can block this thing, so you're pretty much good to go.

The issue of enemy fliers is easily solved if you're running Talrand, Sky Summoner in your deck. His 2/2 Drakes clog up the sky perfectly for chumping enemy fliers (you should only need a couple turns anyways, 8 unblockable damage is a big deal), and they can always swing in if you really need the extra damage.

This is a big, impressive finisher for a decktype that often gets labelled as boring.

The flavour with Talrand feels perfect, too.

Big removal target on his head, so if you want to protect him it would cost 6BlueBlueBlueBlue, so you can save some mana for a negate. Unless you reanimate, or even play BlackBlue and duress the turn before.

That is what I call top-down design there. 5/5 for flavor alone.

If you are facing this, try running Akki Avalanchers so that you can sac your lands to prevent the island walk.

Play this with Archetype of Imagination and Gosta Dirk for complete board domination while letting all your guys through.

An Island Sanctuary on an 8/8 body will pretty much win anyone the game.
