A good weapon against regenerators and low-toughness regenerators like Stuffy Doll. Agony Warp has stolen a lot of this card's thunder.

The black Incinerate. Comes with some disadvantages such as the inability to deal damage to an opponent, but with advantages such as the ability to kill indestructible creatures. 4.5/5.

I don't think so, I still prefer this card 'cos it's easier to cast. I mean it happens to me that I have trouble casting a Counterspell in my blue/black deck just because I need TWO blue mana for it. So I like Last Gasp better than Agony Warp & I love Rune Snag compared to the good old Counterspell. ;-)

Minuses are so awesome. Gotta love it. Its like life loss for creatures.

I prefer Clinging Darkness, but this card lowers toughness too. The thing is, clinging darkness is an enchantment. Oh well.

This is more splashable than the Grasp.

I still like Nameless Inversion's utility. It could kill things, buff a big attacker, removed creature types, and counted as all creature types.

Ah, this was SO good back in Ravnica Standard... I put it in almost ever Black deck I made.

And on that note, cards like this are the main reason why many of my decks have a little Black in them.

Yo prefiero Dismember.
I prefer Dismember.

Awesome card, a great thing to have (or at least SB) in any black deck. But something about it strikes me as strange... I think it's the tiny rules text. Or the fact that there's no credit for the speaker of the flavor text.

A good card, but, like so many other -X/-X cards, overshadowed by Dismember.

Unfortunately, this has been trumped by Grasp of Darkness as black removal. The extra Black is usually not a problem, even in multicolored decks. Last Gasp was a powerful and often used spot removal for weaker creatures in my group, being anti-regeneration and anti-indestructible as well as shrinking those big attacking fatties down to size for easier disposal.

4/5 for black removal

I prefer Nameless Inversion personally, it doubles as pump in certain circumstances.

I dunno guys, I did once run a red-black deck with plenty of destruction, and Grasp of Darkness's BB cost did screw me over a surprising amount of times. This definitely would've been much easier in that deck.

I too go for Nameless Inversion. It also helps to kill those buffed by tribal effects (especially lords) and various other troublesome type based issues. While black can't *often* use the buff, having a buff card available in the form of removal is handy.
