Classic removal. Much better art then Doomblade as well, I might add.

There is no possibility of regeneration. Don't even try it.

Quit comparing Terror to Doomblade! Doomblade is a functional reprint of Terror, but R&D dropped the non-artifact component because they wanted to do more sets with an artifact theme (Alara, Scars), and the regeneration component because R&D likes regeneration in Limited (except in Scars).

I have a shiney doom blade.
my friend uses artifact decks alot (*** you Karn).
I still don't use doomblade, but I also stoped using terror.

Ahh Terror. Quite the staple in its day, very effective, and yet when R&D finally asked the question "why is this card so complicated" most people had no answer.

As much as I like the "can't regenerate" part of Terror, it's almost never come up whenever I've used the spell. I suppose if your going up against a green deck running a lot of regenerating creatures it might come in handy, but most of the time just destroying the creature takes care of the problem. In the current environment, half the time I'll take the ability to hit any artifact creature on the board versus ensuring something won't regenerate. Coincidentally, my black decks usually run two Doom Blades and two Terrors.

I got into Magic before Go for the Throat and Doom Blade existed. Terror has always been what I think of when I think of spot removal. I used to imprint this on Isochron Scepter and kill things every turn. Used to be my favorite card, still is way up there.

That is terrible art

Well, there might be strictly better choices now.
But during my early days of Magic, both the name and the artwork of this oddly worded old card that popped up with various printings in my opponent's deck who otherwise played with comparably newer cards that did have an expansion symbol at least, did have something iconic and mysterious. This was one aspect that made me love this game :D

FACT: Doom Blade is not strictly better than Terror.

This is forever better than doomblade. It's inarguable. It just is.

My comment on Alpha Bayou actually belongs here as well. It fits both cards perfectly ^_^

Commenting on Every Card this Weekend! Alpha has more great cards than most people realize. It's not just the Power 20 (9 + Duals + Your Favorite Other Card)- MOST of the Rares still hold up to today's measure for uncommons, and even the commons are usually not awful in Limited! And there are lots of nice little pretty gems like Animate Dead :D

I'm going to straight up say and admit that I liked this card a LOT less (flavor wise) before Pirates of the Caribbean.

Also, Innistrad Block happened to remind me a lot of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. :3

Since we live in a post-Doom Blade world now, Terror will never be Reprinted for Standard. :P Therefore, here is my Tribute for the forgotten Black Kill Spell :)

Beta "Terror" has banished my opponents: Serra Angels, Sedge Trolls, Kird Apes, Serendib Effreets, and Rabid Wombats for over two decades. I'm still waits to scare away: Tarmogoyf, Ball Lightning, Delver of Secrets, and Archangel of Thune! Doom Blade is good too but I prefer old school "Terror!"
