This is going to cause Simic to be a sleeper hit at the prerelease. I'd put money on it

The art's gorgeous, and she's doing the Simic wave! The mana cost's a bit steep for a 1/1, sadly (not that it'll stop me from playing her).

I agree with Trygon... On pretty much everything; she could have easily cost one less, even if they had to make her a GUU, or similar.

I can see this being awesome in The Mimeoplasm commander deck. You exile this and one of those huge creatures in a graveyard and draw a tone of cards. Possibly getting even bigger as time passes and drawing more cards.

Even without Evolve, I'd play this thing. Increasing Savagery becomes draw 5 cards in Standard, on top of getting yourself a 5/5. Uh, yeah, that sounds pretty darn good. This thing is a huge build-around-me Jonnyboner.

This is THE CARD that I am most excited about in Gatecrash. I love evolve and this turns every evolution into a card draw. sooooo muuuuuch card advantage, just for playing creatures! And she is gorgeous to boot. 5/5
Aside from Mimeoplasm, graft ability from previous Simic also works wonder with Fathom Mage. Then there's Bioshift and Simic Guildmage.

I bet they were going to make it a 3-drop, but then they made it the prerelease/intro deck foil and bumped it up to 4 mana, just to fuck with us

Very creative card draw that doesn't require anything crazy to activate.

@Nudeon Crank that idea up a notch. Flashback that Increasing Savagery with a Corpsejack Menace in play. Overkill? Maybe. But twenty cards in hand would feel pretty good, I'd guess. As long as we're planning out some awesome, add in Reliquary Tower to keep those cards.

Ever since this card was released, I have thought about this as a card (Does it come into play too late? Is the card advantage worth it? That's a nice art, etc.) - Then I somehow pictured the girl in the art doing some type of oriental dance. I cannot unsee it.

Ugh... This card. So, hear me out. I love it. It's really good in a dedicated Evolve deck. I love the card draw, I love how beefy it gets, I love the small little interactions with all the cool stuff... That being said... It REALLY hurts using that T4 for something that won't trigger your Evolve creatures or put something with an already good P/T ratio. I give it a 4.5, because honestly, that downside is hardly anything after you start getting that card advantage.
Because it's a Merfolk and a Redhead and because I've already posted two songs from this movie on this set :3

The fact that this card is potentially one of the most powerful and versatile draw engines/beaters easily makes up for it being a turn four 1/1. Ok, so you take a gamble playing it in the current meta, but that's the meta's fault. Wizards should print more cards like this, not less. 5/5.

Here is your guide to draw your deck thousands of times over. Step 1: Play Master Biomancer Step 2: PlayCorpsejack Menace has 2 +1/+1 counters Step 3: Play anotherCorpsejack Menace has 4 +1/+1 counters Step 4: Play yet another Corpsejack Menace has 8 +1/+1 counters Step 5: Yet another Corpsejack Menace has 16 +1/+1 counters At this point, any number of counters that would be placed on a creature you control is multiplied by 16. Step 6: Master Biomancer has 32 +1/+1 counters Total Biomancer power: 36 Step 7: Master Biomancer has 576 +1/+1 counters Total Biomancer power: 614 Step 8: Master Biomancer has 9,824 +1/+1 counters Total Biomancer power: 10,440 Step 9: Fathom Mage. It will enter with 167,040 +1/+1 counters. Enjoy :D Please note, totally hypothetical. With any type of clone (Evil Twin, Cackling Counterpart, etc) on the Corpsejacks prior to dropping more Biomancers will increase it exponentially. Just one extra Corpsejack raises the number to 2,164,800 (almost 13 times higher). Gotta love that may clause
I love how she interacts with Lorescale Coatl. She gets a counter, you draw a card, and he also gets a counter! Mix in something like Ring of Kalonia (for her of course) and your board and card advantage will be hard to stop.
Awesome ilustration. Awesome ilustration in prerelease. Is actually included in intro pack that is ACTUALLY worth buying at all. Awesome abilities. Combine with Zameck Guildmage and you can cast his second ability for free.
Epic win. I actually almost regret buying Selesnya.

In my opinion, the Simic are the best designed guild in Gatecrash. Not ridiculously efficient like the Boros, nor frustratingly weak like the Dimir. Evolve is really a hit-or-miss mechanic, that could easily go over- or underpowered, just like Cipher. The problem with Cipher isn't the mechanic - it's a marvellous idea which could be very good if done right - it's the cards. When the best card with a mechanic is a mediocre common (Hands of Binding), you know something's wrong. That's not the case with Evolve. There are only two Evolving creatures that I'd never play (looking at you, Clinging Anemones and Simic Fluxmage), and all the rest are fantastic. With amazing rares - this, Simic Manipulator and especially Gyre Sage - and great un/commons, Evolve is still my favorite mechanic. Stay awesome, and I hope we see more of that in Dragon's Maze!

So, the other day, I traded a friend a couple of rares I was never going to use. He showed me some of his rares up for trades, and a pre-release one of these was in it.
'Man, I'll trade for THAT sure, lol!'
'Yeah, go on then.'
'... but... no, I was joking, that's a pre-release of a ridiculously awesome card.'
'I've got another two pre-release ones and a regular one, can't fit the fourth in my deck. I'll trade it for that Feral Hydra.'
Yes, she is a little expensive and generally doesn't do much coming in on her first turn. Extremely vulnerable to removal and unable to block effectively as a 1/1. Unless you play her the turn after Master Biomancer with a Corpsejack Menace in play. Casual multiplayer helps her out a lot as it is usually a slower format. She's tons of fun and belongs to my personal favorite Guild in the game, so 5/5.
She's soooo much better with Prophet of Kruphix... which isn't saying much about this card, I guess. It just hurts to lay down four mana for a 1/1 that only works if you're doing well.

I love this girl. She's the primary draw engine of my simic shenanigans deck. Her interactions with Master Biomancer are super sweet (2UB, 3/3 creature, draw 2 cards) and it's really easy to start evolving her. She's also a hilarious target for Give and Take.
