I'm giving 5 stars because I just imagined the look on my friend's face when everyone chips in to make X=20. My friend's Commander deck only has nonbasic lands.

1. Great art. Props to Urbach.
2. This card may benefit you last and yes that's terrible (forty cakes? terrible.) but you can't really deny that if X >= 5 this card has already affected the entire game in a huge way.

I'd bet no one will pitch in much for this if you have Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or Tunnel Ignus out. You could try, with Valakut it might work if you promise to target the biggest threat on the battlefield. If you have enough mana it might be worth it even if no one else pays, since you might be able to kill someone outright.

Tunnel Ignus was my first though when reading this. It's so deliciously evil to cast the Ignus and then sink a ton of mana into this afterwards.

Try casting this and contributing very little, or not at all. Then save the rest of your mana for Seedborn Muse.

Works more often than you'd think.

This + Ankh of Mishra + Platinum Emperion.

Search for as much land as you like, and your opponent wont be able to go over board with how much land they get also.

If you want to fix that "enters the battlefield clause" combine said cards with Amulet of Vigor and Fireball (just to be classy)

While Zo-zu, Tunnel Ignus, and Ahnk may be fun, game winning strageties with this, remember that searching your deck is basically always a may effect.

Because the contents of your deck are considered a secret (for a lack of a better term), you as a player never have to reveal whether certain cards are in your deck or hand (unless an effect like Surgicial Extraction or Telepathy says otherwise). So when you Collective Voyage for game with some land punishment out, remember that your opponent can choose to search his deck, declare 'fail to find', and foil your win condition.

Of course if your dropping fifteen lands into play and your opponent isn't dropping anything because it would cost him the game, you've probably won anyways.

Favorite new card, myself. I'm very political about my EDH decks and this basically reads "get on everybody's good side." Love it, 5/5

It's a sorcery. When you play this on your turn, the you'll have to wait to use the lands you're getting. Your opponents get an opportunity to use their lands long before you get to reap the benefit of your spell.

I have a strong dislike for Mana Flare because it generally helps the opponents as much as it does you. With Collective Voyage, you're not just helping the opponents, but you're helping them sooner than yourself (barring landfall-type effects). At least you can use any untapped lands you still have around the same turn as you drop the Flare. You don't get the same luxury here.

I can't say I care for Collective Voyage (or the Join Forces mechanic).

I personally not only love the Join Forces mechanic, but absolutely adore this card. I used to run New Frontiers all the time, and this just adds to the fun.
I mean, yeah, you get to see the mana from it last; at least if you're not smart enough to run Amulet of Vigor, but hell, if you didn't, you'd be a doosh, and nobody wants that. I wish I got this in the G/U/B deck instead of Shared Mill.

Lotus Cobra would ask you to kindly not eat it trying to make this spell happen.

I once played a game where X was 28. Needless to say, we all ran out of basic lands.

I'm going to give this a 5/5
that being, that Green has many "Untap lands" cards that they can use right after this to counter the "come in play tapped" thing. Really good if used correctly in a team.

I just noticed the similarity to the card New Frontiers. Seeing that, I like this card even more.

My second-favorite of the Join Forces cycle, Mana-Charged Dragon being the first. Collective Voyage at least beats the dragon in Most Flavorful Name in the cycle.

This could be quite evil in a GBU deck. Play this, everybody pitches in so they can pull all of the land out fo their decks... and then you start casting Mind Funerals. Good luck hitting those 4 basic lands!

It gets even worse if you can copy the Mind Funerals...

It's pretty much New Frontiers. Also, that is some great artwork.
EDIT: Well now I actually understand join forces. It's better than New Frontiers.

At first, I thought this card terrible, as I have had multiple experiences wherein helping others did not benefit me in any way. After seeing the comments, I thought it okay, presuming you had built around it with other cards that allowed you to abuse the massive land-dropage going on. Now, I could see someone playing it and simply watching as everyone else at the table makes themselves a threat before doing relatively little with their mana when their next turn finally rolls around, and then watching all their opponents beat themselves silly. Oh course, after their opponents exhausted their resources, that player would swoop in and take over the game. Yay psychology!

@Chemale
Someone did that to a game I was in while I had an all-colorless deck and a Worldslayer on the board. I figured they were asking for it when they pulled out 7 lands. What, was I just going to sit on my huge disadvantage and lose?
But no, it was awful. I was forced to worldslayer everything to shreds. And they quit soon afterwards.
Moral of the story? Find a way to pack basics!

Incredible art. I want it in high-resolution for my wallpaper. The wallpaper on my PC and the one in my bedroom.

Really fun card, a staple for any green EDH. Best used with Amulet of Vigor.

I have 3 different EDH decks, all with green mana. Damia, Sage of Stone, Animar, Soul of Elements, and Rith, the Awakener. Rith is the only one that plays this card (the other two are far more serious decks with the Animar deck being for league play). I have found that the best use of this card is to use it at much more casual tables when somebody sits down with a more serious deck to get way ahead of him on lands. It is a great way to abuse the fact that more casual decks have a lot more basic lands in them. It is very likely that competitive deck guy will only be able to find a couple lands while the rest of the table drops 15 lands in and the game quickly becomes more balanced. Overall a nice card for casual multiplayer tables but it has no place in more serious decks (this is by design and a good thing).

Theres not going to be allot of lands left after this is done. If you Landwipe after this, everyones going to be hurting.

This card basically reads: If X>6, the next person who can untap his lands wins the game.

Unless its my turn next, I never pay anything for this card, nor do any of my friends. If you are going to cast this, save mana for a mass untap effect like Turnabout, Early Harvest, Rude Awakening, a GAME WINNING landfall effect, or a card that lets you take an additional turn. If you dont win straight after casting this, someone else is going to.

Which is why I dislike this card. In my gaming circle, we enjoy long games where we do whacky things, this card instantly ends EDH games. Its almost as bad as cloning a " class="autoCard" data:cardname="Consecrated SphinxColorless">Consecrated SphinxColorless

I used this once in a casual game. I had a parallel lives and a kicked rite of replication on my roil elemental. X ended up as 9, when I had 11 elementals. . .
Most fun win I have ever had.

Quite surprised to see that nobody has mentioned Archive Trap or Mind Funeral. It will only work once in a casual game, but when it does, you'll get a good laugh.

WhiteRaven is absolutely right: Unless your friends are easily fooled, they can choose to not get any lands at all.

It says, "Each player searches his or her library for up to X basic land cards..."

Don't try anything funny with this. The only way you'd come out on top is if your opponent has few Basic Lands in their deck, you have Seedborn Muse out, or if they've played Trench Gorger.

In the beginning I loved this card (hey, I get to play most of my lands in deck and Riku of the Two Reflections loves lands and everyone won't target me for awhile!) But then after making some changes to my deck I soon realized how much advantage it gave my opponents compare to the advantage it gave me. It is best to play this as early as possible so that your opponents don't have much of an advantage over you mana wise or with cards like Amulet of Vigor and cards with landfall. Otherwise I would rather run Perilous Forays or Boundless Realms over this.

Landfall + Frankie Peanuts + Paradox Haze

Ask "Are you going to answer the following question with yes?"
If no: "Are you going to put any less that all of your mana available right now into collective Voyage?"
If yes: "Are you going to put all your mana available right now into collective voyage?"

Just make sure they don't have exactly enough mana for a counterspell or cancel.

What I love about this card is how hopeless Gatherer is for rating it. A whole bunch of Spikes and Johnnies discussing how to break this card.

This is a Timmy card designed to get everyone past the land hump at the start and into the fun bit. You know, so that no-one's sitting around being mana screwed and bored. Everyone gets to have fun, even if they don't win.

I've lost you all with that last statement, haven't I.

Going straight into my Kruphix edh deck. Fuel colorless mana supply with Kruphix, plus using your own existing lands on the field, wait a turn, reap benefits.

All the 'each player draws x cards' spells in the deck will be a hell of a lot more effective after dropping this. Not many opponents will counter it, being that they're benefiting as well, but, in a ramp-heavy, midrange deck, I see this being incredibly beneficial.

5/5 Stars for being awesome!
