kederekt parasite + underworld dreams + sign in blood + Burning inquiry = pain

If you add Megrim to that, you end up with
Kederekt Parasite + Underworld Dreams + Sign in Blood + Burning Inquiry + Megrim

If you have all of those down, on one turn they will take 2 from the initial draw, 6 from Signing, 12 from Burning Inquiry. 20 damage. But still, five card combo. Underworld and 2 Megrims with Inquiry would deal 15 damage.

i am working on a type2 underworld deck using everything listed but megrim... but what red permanent are you pairing with the parasite?

If you make a red-black-blue deck with all those cards in it and add in "Time Warp" than...that'd be quite painful.

Combine this with Forced Fruition and your opponent loses.

I still think it's one of the weaker BBB cards... it practically forces you to build a mono-black deck around it. And in M10, about the only black card that helps it is Sign in Blood

Legendary "cool" card of Magic reprinted for M10, but it was never overly fantastic. And with creatures running rampantly out of control, I don't see it becoming relevant again.

I know it's not type II but I'd play it with Fatal Lore for fun.

something simple like raging goblin will do, but for more pain, manabarbs is better

Underworld Dreams+ Kederekt Parasite + Howling Mine + Font of Mythos = The funnest deck in Two Headed Giant :)

I've had a lot of fun with this and Teferi's Puzzle Box, combined with Psychic Possession (this is the only combo I've ever found for this card!) and control spells like Sunder and Wash Out. Makes for a medium power, medium speed combo that's a lot of fun, and can finish hard.

Dark rits, filter lands, or Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth will help you get this into play more reliably. Nothing like a first turn Dreams with a dark rit tho. That just puts a ticking clock up on your opponent's game.

I have Underworld Dreams + Howling Mine + Teferi's Puzzle Box + Sign in Blood + Bloodchief Ascension + Vampiric Link and Damnation to handle creatures. My favorite deck by far. Oh, and I close with Winter Orb - game over!

this was my first ever rare, first ever foil, and still my favorite card to this day. i'll play it in any mono-black deck i have whether it fits or not.

5/5

also, this screams "KILL ME FIRST" in multiplayer matches.

@slack Mulligans were added so players wernt forced to play threw a painful game with only 1 land on there draw, and its completly balanced because you have to ditch a card, wich is a big deal.

Mulligans became an official rule pretty darn quickly, you nob.

I've always wanted to get this into play with Polluted Bonds, Megrim, Larceny, Deathgreeter and some others. So that your opponent is punished for doing anything.

Great with Grave Pact and Fecundity. And Spawns.

The 'Dreams was nasty enough when it was restricted and only targeted a single opponent. Now it's worse than ever, especially in multiplayer.

Play it with Shocker and Megrim. Even if they only have one card it's still 4 damage for a little 1/1. Also saw Seizan, Perverter of Truth suggested as fun.

I lurv this card...though on its own without card drawers, it's not great, but still realllllly fun to play with!

This card spanked people back in the day, it was restricted and only targeted one player.

You'd lotus or rit underworld on the table.

then Wheel of Fortune

then Windfall

thenTimetwister

Memory Jar

even the Ancestral Recall became a finisher.

Not to mention almost all the players played those cards as well, making them very painful.

You don't need a Mono Black to use this. My deck which is based on it is 3 colors, and it works just fine, allowing a first or second turn win with the right opening hand. And now that all those sissy house rules are actually rules now (Like Mulligans, which used to be a House Rule, and not legal, are now allowed) you can basically shuffle until your hand doesn't suck if you're willing to drop a card each time.

EDIT:

For the guy who called me a "nob" and said it was quickly made a rule... No, it wasn't, if you consider that when I started playing, there was still no such thing as a banned or Restricted list yet, and most people were running around with real Degenerate Decks with 20 Moxes and 20 Lightning Bolts. It wasn't until like 1997 or so when you were allowed to Mulligan. Or somewhere around there.... I haven't slept in two days so my thinking of that time is a bit off, but either way, it was fun having Balance Decks and stuff. And of course, back then, Ante was required.
I stopped playing for years once 6th edition came out, and came back in around 10th Edition, so I have been rusty to say the least. Insulting me because you don't realize that I've been playing a REALLY long time, is kind of dumb.

"Insulting me because you don't realize that I've been playing a REALLY long time, is kind of dumb."

It's dumb to think that the length of time you've been playing grants you some sort of authority. Just because you're playing doesn't mean you're learning anything.

SlackWareWolf, if you've been playing so long, go to a nursing home cause you're cantankerous and senile. Nob.
Also, Kederekt Parasite is sorta the same thing, so pick your poison. 3.5/5, but it would be awesome to turn an Ancestral Recall into a Lightning Bolt.

@Duddits

That combo is not only amazingly fun in EDH, but with the addition of the new M12 Jace, and a blast from his ultimate ability, your opponents will HATE you.

@scumbling: Being around a long time means that you know the old rules, which would be what we're talking about.

Reading comprehension sure is hard, isn't it?

Anyways, I love Underworld Dreams. I don't care what anybody says. I had a great time with it in my casual monoblack deck- I even stuck in some Howling Mines.

We play the EDH precons, and I have this card in it.

It completely messes up the political puppets deck.

Awesome EDH, In my Sharuum the Hegemon deck I just tutor up this, Donate, and Colfenor's Plans, this leaves them to think creatively with one spell and no draws. After that I use cards that make both of us draw cards Jace Beleren, Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, and Temple Bell to command there draw, and they get damaged! XD while my life would go up do too something like Venser's Journal or they'd take more damage from Psychosis Crawler. Definitely a good EDH Card.

Spiteful Visions is more fun, and splash-able, even if it hits you too.
You can throw Wheel of Fortune into a deck that includes that without a wonky mana base.

I don't see why this is rated so highly... I can see it being nice in some situations (Font of Mythos, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Jace, Memory Adept's ultimate etc) but it's very situational and in decks without a lot of card drawing, it won't do a huge amount. Maybe 5 damage over the remainder of the game. There are much better ways to damage your opponent.

5/5 This card is forever ingrained into my heart alongside my Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood, Dark Ritual and Painful Quandary.

Reminds me of my black and white knight deck:

I remember Dark Ritualing out this turn one once ...

followed by a Ghostly Prison turn 4

and then the Exquisite-Sanguine infinite combo turns 6 and 7
