Yes yes yes all of my yes. I would say this is the best white 1-mana instant in the game, and it's back for more!

Awesome card is awesome! Turns your chump tokens into unblockable ninjas or indestructible protectors in an instant! (ba-dum-tss)

Offensive, defensive... this card does it all!

A bit too strong for my tastes.

Anti-removal, evasion, indestructability. Efficient swiss army knife instant against mono colored decks.

This is a huge reprint. It's incredibly versatile and can lead to major blowouts. Be wary of decks with lots of white creatures for the next year.

And to think of all those multicolor guilds... Would be a shame if, they shared a color.

Best 1-mana instant in the game? Now, this is amazing, but it is nowhere near that honorific.
Lighning Bolt, Dark Ritual, Ancestral Recall, Swords to Plowshares, Entomb, Path to Exile, Vampiric Tutor, Berserk, and High Tide all have it beat. And there are probably many more which are superior in some people's opinions, but it would be very difficult to deny that the instants on that list are all worse than this card.

Well then...between this, Celestial Flare, Smite, Renounce the Guilds, and of course their many creatures, I think mono white might be about to make a HUGE comeback.

And suddenly we have two powerful, cheap cards in standard that can be abbreviated with the same letters (Burning-Tree Emissary). Won't be confusing at all.

Standard white weenie, here I come!

cool! Always neat to see more reprints of any of these White Protection granting Instants! Protection at FIRST glance feels almost like Indestructible, and you wouldn't think you'd want it all over the place....
So far though, Protection is...both useful, and weak enough to not be O.P. if doled out pretty generously every set! All around one of my fav. mechanics.

Doesn't protect against mass destroy effects, just targeted ones! Still very good card.

Am I the only one who is kind of turned off to color hate in general? This is a great card and all, but it makes white too overpowered. Protection and landwalk are all well and good, but it still bothers me that they didn't make this either a colorless spell or a cycle of spells.

@SirLibrary white has always been the best at Protection, so rather than being indicative of some color imbalance this is tastefully where it belongs. Strong and versatile but not overpowered or out of place, respectfully disagreeing with basically everything you said <3

Excellent in a white weenie deck. I didn't realize it right away, but the main use is not defense, but offense. But it does protect against Mizzium Mortars and Anger of the Gods in a pinch.

@jimmynoobplayer It only protects against mizzium mortars' single target option, not the overload, and it does not protect against anger of the gods.

@cobaltblue Actually, it still protects from those cards. They don't target but they still do damage, which protection from red would prevent in those cases. It does not, however, protect from something like Supreme Verdict , which doesn't target nor does it do damage

This card is magnificent in White Weenies decks and some Boros variations where all your creatures are - at least partially - white. Yesterday this baby just won me a FFA against a mono-green devotion deck and a mono-black rats deck. Top-decked it just in time to swing with my throng army boosted by both Spear of Heliod and Heliod, God of the Sun himself. Getting past an army of no-less than 8 11/11 Pack Rats is quite satisfying indeed. Immensely powerful at instant speed, for only 1 white mana.

This is one of those cards that doesnt feel over powered, making you think you can play it in casual, but is actually way too strong for that format. Its not just 1 mana indestructibility, its evasion too. For all your creatures. How many people run 3 color decks in casual when they cant afford shock lands? How many people have non-damaging global removal? Have you seen the price of wrath of god or damnation lately?
Wonderful card in any other format though. Great effect, good design.

I have to say I think this card is seriously underrated at the moment. Currently rated 3.5 for M14, but 4.2 on the zendikar printing.
This card is so relevant in standard right now. BtE can essentially make all your creatures unblockable until end of turn on your turn, protect your creatures from direct/mass damage, or act as a pseudo-hexproof mechanic. All that for 1 mana, instantly.
That list was off the top of my head, and most of those spells have a CMC greater than 1. There's just so many spells that get shut down by this.
For me, there are 2 big drawbacks to the card. You need creatures on the board for the card to be relevant. The second, bigger drawback is that said creatures need to be white. Having said that, white has a lot of great weenie creatures in standard right now. Heck, this card is great for G/W aggro. Dryad Militant, Loxodon Smiter, Fleecemane Lion, Voice of Resurgence, AND the VoR tokens love this card!
