Not a bad enchantment at uncommon - Definitely want to explore this with a Modern life gain strategy.

A very interesting uncommon, but I'm not sure how much reliable lifegain there is in limited to run this.

Time will tell

I should probably run this in my Trostani EDH deck.

Yeah, I'm gonna put 4 of these in my lifegain deck so I can cast them for 4 mana each and get a 4/4 angel every time I gain 4 life on a turn. Then I'm gonna go 4-0 at FNM and win 4 packs, and might celebrate by getting a #4 at McDonald's afterwards.

Oh, did I mention this card is being printed in M1....4?

Ironically, works well with the Bubbling Cauldron.

Archangel of thune after 1 activation, brindle boar, bubbling cauldron, divine favor almost gets you one, elixir of immortality, mark of the vampire, congregate (although you shouldn't ever play this), path of bravery with 4 attacking guys out, solemn offering, stonehorn chanter (lol), trading post turns every land / low drop into an angel, and corrupt if your heavy enough in black.

As well as some combination of child of night, dawnstrike paladin, soulmender, the cycle of staves, syphon sliver and verdant haven.

So ya... probably enough ways to make this work in limited. I think trading post and mark of the vampire are my favourite interactions.

This is going to be fun with the Strionic Resonator!

As demons are drawn to suffering, angels are drawn to the smell of delicious, sizzling bacon.

Let's don't forget about Trading Post, turning spare lands into life AND angels makes your opponent really sweat! I managed this combo to run in a Minimaster deck.

Possibly the only card in existence that makes Sacred Nectar not look like a steaming pile of crap.

I am trying to make my Kaalia build tuned to, rather than do stupid STUPID stupid gamewinning things every turn (because that was easy and got boring, lol), I just mainly want to pump out Creatures of Those Types as much as possible.

I'm pleased to see there are a fair number of cards that aren't bad at doing what I want with her. Dragonmaster Outcast, Luminarch Ascension, et. al. make 'generic tokens' that as long as you don't bring too many artifacts or enchantments to the table, can 'win more fairly'. :) I make room for FTV: Shivan Dragon and gold-symbol Serra Angel to both give her things to summon and keep the power level a bit in check. If you can generate a Big Flying Attacking Blocker every turn, you can still be quite threatening without getting....absurd x.x
The only improvement you ever really want, if you want to avoid a game of Archenemy, to make to your tokens is Vigilance.

I think I should replace Luminarch Ascension with this card. What are people's favorite White- or Black- ways to gain repeated life points in EDH? :)

(Also, I like the Bubbling Cauldron idea. Kaalia would be an ideal place for Vorthos to justify this flavor paradox!)

No Gatherer, I am never, ever, ever going to shut up about Kaalia of the Vast. She is too damn awesome. AND YOU ALL KNOW IT. But I will endeavor to find many different ways to build her so it doesn't get boring, and especially so it doesn't look lazy x3

Your turn: Force a 4 life gain (maybe by attacking with Path of Bravery) - 4/4 Angel
Their turn: Populate the 4/4 Angel with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice - another 4/4 Angel
Swing for 12 (15 with Path of Bravery triggered) flying next turn.

Gain 4+ life...
Gives you an angel with 4 power...
and 4 toughness...
And CMC = 4?

HALF LIFE 4 REVEALED!

In the FFL, they originally had it costed at 1W, instead of the 3W it is at now.

This card + Growing Ranks + Trostani, Selesnya's Voice = game over. A minimum of 2 4/4 w/ flying and 4 life per turn without spending any mana.

They should have printed an opposite version of this enchantment as well. One that spits out a Demon, when ever some one takes damage (or something) with flavor text that says As angels are drawn to acts of benevolence, demons are drawn to suffering.

Kinda like Knight of Infamy vs Knight of Glory in m13.

That aside, the foil version of this card looks pretty cool, only the armor and weapons are shinny.

Using two of those as an engine with bubbling cauldron works pretty well :D

Shame Garruk's Packleader is out of standard, it would be great fun to combine some of the ideas in this thread with a bit of extra card draw!

For fun, use with Setessan Battle Priest, Divine Favor, and Soulmender. For more advanced fun, use Gift of Immortality on a Festering Newt sacrificed (repeatedly) to a Bubbling Cauldron. And hey, if you are tossing black into the mix, a Sanguine Bond can weaponize it all, and make a Congregate suck the life out out of your enemies.
