Commander Review: sucks. It's worse than a bear by default. If you sac creatures, it's sometimes a weak flying bear. Only when you start to sacrifice several humans it slowls gets a decent size. In other words: never ever put this card in a commander deck. 0.5/5

So. He jumps to a cage, eats what's inside, then gets to jump to another cage. This here ladies and gentlemen is the maintenance boy of a vampire family's dungeon.
He gets the scraps, and is happy with any dead body, zombie, cat or little girl, or cloistered youth he gets in those cages.

Responding to Guest1741897132's comment, I think, after his back-story, it would have been fitting to see this card be a vampire hound instead. That would be so much more flavorful than a torturer of some sort. Either way, as mentioned, it's a pretty terrible card, but at least it puts +1/+1 counters on it instead of merely remaining until end of turn.

majinara : here is a Commander Re-Review - any FREE sac outlet in EDH is not to be dismissed so lightly. You can't look at the stats alone; Bloodghast would be pretty bad too if that's all you cared about ! not saying this is the best thing ever, but black has far more devious tricks than bashing with a flying bear...

The human clause is totally relevant in DKA+INN limited, where humans are running around everywhere. Chump with a human (or suicide attack with a dagger), then feed him to this guy. That said, he still isn't that great.

Outright bad in Vampire Tribal, but I see some potential in B/W Weenie/Token generating decks.
That said, this card doesn't enter combat a lot for me, it's more of my cookpot than anything.

Pretty bad. It starts worse than a bear or even a Scathe Zombie (for Pete's sake?!) and can, after eating your own dudes, become sort of useful... for a while... assuming you have Humans.
Flavor text is just odd in a way. Poor guy sounds depressed or fears that he might be out of a job soon!

They could probably have printed a straight upgrade to Dross Hopper by making this cost 1B.
Still, it is one of very few infinite, manaless sac outlets in limited, and the only one at common. This makes it invaluable with morbid spells, as well as things like Falkenrath Noble and Rage Thrower. It also puts creatures locked down with Bonds of Faith and Claustrophobia into your graveyard for later reanimation/exile/spider food.
Not the most efficient beater by any stretch, but it's a solid enabler that occasionally swings for 2, which is more than can be said of that lazy Disciple of Griselbrand!
One of my favourite sacrifice outlets in the set. Combos well with creature stealers (Traitorous Blood) and human token generators (Increasing Devotion).

I am between majinara and PastProphet here. Yes its a free sac outlet, but without searching gatherer, I am fairly certain you can find better ways to sac dudes if that is what you are trying to do. This isnt as terrible as majinara would think, but I'm sure we can find better things, PastProphet.
