It certainly beats the pants off of Plasma Elemental. 1 less cost, 3 more toughness so it can actually survive until its controller's next turn against a burn deck, and the ability to drain the opponents hand when it attacks. I haven't lost any games where I've managed to get one of these into play.

Quelle carte puissante. L'arrivée en jeu de Ghastlord of Fugue signifie le début de la fin pour l'adversaire. C'est la carte auquel tout mon deck ROGUE tourne !
Son coût est ridiculement bas, 5 manas pour une 4/4 imblocable et une capacité difficile à gérer, c'est à dire choisir n'importe laquelle cartes de sa main et lui faire retirer de la partie. N'importe lequel deck bleu et/ou noir axé sur les attaques sans pitiés devraient avoir Ghastlord of Fugue. J'imagine aussi qu'un accélérateur de mana est bienvenue ici, jouer dès le quatrième voir troisième tour, c'est la victoire assuré ou presque.
De plus, elle est peu coûteuse en magasin. 5 $ CAN, c'est donné à mon avis :-)

rofl at the demi god of revenge comment, its not that great a card.. exiling it destroys that strategy completely, and it requires at least 2 of the same card in your deck to work. Not to mention terminate works on anything.
The real amazing part of the ability on ghastlord is you choose what they discard, rather than discarding what they want, you can really wreck the opponents strategy by playing ghastlord early. The unblockable part on a 4/4 doesn't hurt either, its unusual for a card with that much power to have unblockable as well, aside from the black card dread which has fear. Enchanted with its own helm of the ghastlord its a 6/6 that discards two cards and draws a card, probably the best avatar.

I thought it was so sick they made an UNBLOCKABLE this powerful and with that nice discard ability XD
Just thankful I've not yet seen either on the other side of the table in any games I've played thus far lol. Both are frightningly awesome!

i love using this in combo with Fireshreiker. Hits for 8 damage and you get to look at and exile two cards from defending player's hand.

Evades Doomblade and Lightning Bolts, puts the opponent on a 5 turn clock (assuming they haven't been damaged already) and will completely screw over their metagame if you can get it out. . . . Why would any blue/black deck not want four?
Extra points if you Dark ritual it out on turn 3 or sooner.

Wow, this is harsh. Low, flexible cost, paragon effect which combos with a second great effect, which in turn can be used to prevent it from being killed by blowing up any cards that would hurt it before they ever hit the field. And a ghost that was never alive is just plain cool no matter what.

Underestimated card from the spirit avatar cycle, just 1 hit from him can completely wreck your opponents strategy, and hes fun to use.
This guy pulled the prerelease for me :D Or maybe it was Oona... Either way, this guy's pretty strong in a slower game :)

The exile ability is wasted on an expensive creature like this. Dark Ritual -> Hypnotic Specter was such a menace because it started attacking an opponent's hand before they had the chance to use almost anything from it. Fixed-rate repeatable effects like this need to come down early or they don't work well.
This guy is by far the worst of his cycle.

4/4 unblockable for 5 would be pretty much worth 5/5 by itself. This ability is just overkill. And when he wears his own Helm... things start getting very, very nasty.
Also, it's a specter that mindfucks people and destroys their souls. What can be cooler than that? (Read The Seer's Parables by the way, just google them.)

For those interested in the Eventide/Shadowmoor Deity (Spirit Avatar) Cycles:
Since there have been a couple posts about it: Playing two dark rituals and then this is a bad move.
You played a Swamp, Dark Ritual, Dark Ritual, Ghastlord. Three spells are on the line here. if you get countered with Force of Will or Daze or your opponent just Murders or Swords to Plowshares your ghastlord you have lost the game. I am not saying you may not have fun doing this (Though dark ritual is one of those cards many casual tables look down on) just that it isn't really a great move tactically. Ghastlord is pretty powerful, just not powerful enough to put all your eggs in one basket for. He isn't even that powerful as far as the Spirit Avatar cycle is concerned.
