Looks like token decks need in case they didn't already.

First - love the art with the Dementors protecting Hogwarts. Secondly - this thing will be a key ingredient to any token build.

My favorite artwork for a spirit card in Innistrad.

Love this, makes me want to rebuild my token deck to include such treasures as this the geist monk, and some others. What's not to like? It's is cheaper than the leyline, and gives vigilance as well as an amazing bonus. the first alone is a reason to play it, the second makes it a required 4 of.
This is awesome in so many ways. Vigilance is just the icing on the cake. And we also got Parallel Lives in the same set.
I don't even know where to start deckbuilding... Promise of Bunrei seems like a legit card in Modern to expand your spirit army, and i always wanted to play this card efficiently, so this might be another good enchantment to start with.
With the Dark Ascension set, this card has become even more invaluable.
Use this in tandem with Gather the Townsfolk and Increasing Devotion, you've got yourself an army of 2/2 humans ready to take back their home from the unholy creatures of the night.

And now it's banned in Innistrad Block Constructed.
Oh boy oh boy, Return to Ravnica is gonna be fun with this. After all, it wouldn't be Ravnica without hordes of easily made Saprolings!

Can anyone out there explain to me why this is banned in Block?? In detail please (ie-is there a crazy combo, or is it b/c it's not legendary and someone could essentially drop 4 just before attacking, I mean break it down for a Mage with more than just, IT'S INSANE!!! lol.. I can tell from the comments it's a really good card, having never gotten the chance to play with it personally, but so what? There's a lot of insanely good cards that weren't banned.. Take Lightning Bolt for instance! Why did they ban this bad boy?

@Mike-C "The DCI examined the current block format and found that creature-token based strategies were dominating and largely competing with other creature-token based strategies. In particular, Intangible Virtue and Lingering Souls were very prevalent. There were some variations to the base white-black deck. One could add green mana, which adds Gavony Township, gives Ray of Revelation flashback, and allows the option of Garruk Relentless. One could add red mana, which adds Hellrider and Devil's Play. However, this isn't the diverse format most people enjoy.
In the interest of making Innistrad Block Constructed a more diverse and healthy format, the DCI is banning Intangible Virtue and Lingering Souls."
Go read Wizard's reasons for banning it before coming to Gatherer to make a fool of yourself. And besides, what are the possible responses to this in Limited? There's isn't much wrath to speak of other than Blasphemous Act and Divine Reckoning (kind of), and that's only two colors. What is green gonna do about a bunch of pumped vigilant spirits? Block them with spiders?

So for a R/W human deck that has lots of token humans in as well what do you reckon is better: this or Cathars’ Crusade?

Nobody has mentioned Blade Splicer and Master Splicer. I have a blue white splicer deck and this card is amazing in there. Turn 1, Preordain, turn 2, Intangible Virtue, Turn 3, Blade Splicer. (Now that's a 1/1 and a 4/4 with first strike.) Turn 4, free up the blue for some control, Wing Spliceror I Shape Anew for my Blightsteel Colossus. (Which now has first strike.) Turn 5, Venser, the Sojourner and start bouncing my splicers in and out of play to get more golem tokens. All the while I'm beating face cuz they have vigilance. If the game is drawn out, don't worry, I drop Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and go in for the kill with my amazing token army lol

Wizards needs to be more careful in the future about flooding a set with efficient token spells and highly efficient lord enchantments.
Anytime a ban occurs it makes you wonder does really have any idea what they are doing? If so how did they not notice that tokens would be clearly dominate and force a ban?

I play Modern and this card has flooded white decks and made tokens so powerful the game's over in like 3 turns unless you've got quick abundant removal. Tokens are cheaper and easier to put on the board than normal creatures. This is undercosted, it should be like 1WW or remove vigilance.

Combine it with Glory of Warfare.
For my token deck, I should add
And add Tempered Steel.

Army of the Damned. Yeah, sure, benevolent...
Still, 5/5.
