With Battleground Geist's power combined they are... well unimpresive. It looks like spirits are going to be the same as lorwyn's giants (or kamigawa spirits) over costed, unimpressive and will not see any real play as a tribe.

I feel a bit uneasy that they mirror +0/+1 with the much more powerful +1/+0, it was as if they hadn't learned from Disciple of the Vault (and Leonin Elder) yet. But then again both of these cards are pretty bad, so I was probably thinking too deep into it.

The excellent name, art, and flavor are being cruelly mocked by the weak mechanics. :(

Continued from Selfless Cathar

There are 7 cards that have to do with Spirits that are not Spirits, one is anti-spirit:
Angel of Flight Alabaster
Doomed Traveler
Geist-Honored Monk
Mausoleum Guard
Midnight Haunting
Moorland Haunt
Urgent Exorcism (the 'bad' one)

There are 15 Spirit Spirits, 2 of which are worthless green ones, they are pretty unimpressive. There is also one black one, its a better card, but not UW, so probably not being ran in most Spirit decks, leaving 12 'proper' Spirits.

Kindercatch
Orchard Spirit
Morkrut Banshee
Battleground Geist
Chapel Geist
Gallows Warden
Geist of Saint Traft
Lantern Spirit
Mindshrieker
Mirror-Mad Phantasm
Moon Heron
Spectral Rider
Sturmgeist
Voiceless Spirit

It seems to me, that either you have to run some humans/angels as well, you have to use some graveyard zombie-esque cards, or you have to embrace the tokens they make (and therefore may want to run green as well, since they have the interesting Parallel Lives)

Since I don't wanna run outta room, I think I will continue this with Zombies on Rotting Fensnake.

Or you could just play Veteran Armorer. It's {2} cheaper, with -1/-1 and less toughness. Take your pick. (Can you tell I don't play standard?)

tch... perhaps the worst uncommon to pull during drafts.

It's way to costly, and the chances that you'll have any spirits in your deck are usually slim, since white is commonly drafted over most other colours (I think Green is the only colour that get drafted quicker).

If you can, however, get yourself a Lantern Spirit, Battleground Geist, Voiceless Spirit, and/or (if you're lucky) an Angel of Flight Alabaster, then by all means go for it. I just don't see any way to include this into anything except a tribal standard deck.

You said it metalevolence. It actually upsets me that a card with this much flavor and fantastic art was relegated to the bargain bins.
