Shouldn't an angel of flight do something to do with flying? Or is this a metaphorical flight?

By "Flight" I believe it means a group of angels. So this particular angel is part of flight alabaster.

Weird name, but very elegant, beautiful artwork. Hats off to Howard Lyon.

Like Promised Kanishui, this angel isn't a spirit for a good reason, but a great addition to a spirit focused deck regardless. Hana Kami, for one, would help bring back your spells also. Karmic Guide or other soulshift creatures are good choice also.

Even after the Geist of Saint Traft gets himself into trouble, his angel is here to bring him back from the brink again and again. I like to think his attacking angel is full of wrath alongside him, but that she spent a while just like this, mourning him.

Quite an elegant solution to removal in Spirit tribe decks, fits well into my Black/White Orzhov deck.

There are several fun spirits with sacrifice abilities. Kami of False Hope will let you fog every turn for example. Kami of Ancient Law destroys enchantments. Moonlit Strider will protect your angel AND it has soul shift!

A flying 4/4 for 5 is right on the edge of playability, but I absolutely love how this chick can bring back geist of saint traft and karmic guide. Spirits have always been my favorite creature type, so I hope they get alot more stuff like this in the next two sets.

Its name is just a hideously complicated way to say it flies and it's white.

Totally underestimated this card for limited. A splashable bomb that gives you sick card advantage, even if you only run a few spirits, whats not to love.

Obviously fine in spirit decks and useless in others. Karmic Guide and Crypt Angel are vastly superior in other decks of course.

Am I the only one who noticed that her second ability is a must, not a may, and find this a little unusual?

She wouldn't look so innocent if she was hardwired into a Batterskull, would she now? 8/8 vigilant lifelinker with inbuilt spirit recursion for more equipping, you naughty angel?

@ Hanksingle: Right, because 4/4 fliers with potential recursion abilities are utter garbage in limited.

Power art and flavor text. Perfectly captures the "fading light surrounded by darkness and doubt" feel of Innistrad's white. A nice card with lots of potential for recursion decks, and also a feasible finisher for spirit decks in need of big flying bodies. Also, a bomb in limited.

EDH? Brings back Karmic Guide. To my hand, to be cast and thus trigger etb abilities.
This card is not ridiculous, but it is powerful. Limited, it's amazing. Constructed, well, we'll have to see. But I know I'm happy I've pulled two so far.

This art is so incredibly gorgeous. I don't mean because the angel is lovely (even though she is), but because of the deep melancholy of it. I love art that tells the whole story right in the picture.

I keep pulling these as my rare, and it's pretty good. The main issue is that, as of now, there aren't a whole lotta good spirits in Standard aside from Geist of Saint Traft. I use her in my Humans deck that has a few spirits for flying, and it works pretty well even as just a fat beater. Overall, though, really not bad, but I really hope that some good spirits come out in Dark Ascension
Not that great of a card right now, but I'm pretty confident that by the end of Innistrad block she'll have better/more relevant spirit support for her recursion ability.
EDIT: I drew her during the Dark Ascension pre-release, but did not play her, now, at the release party, I drew her again, as well as Requiem Angel. I built a white/green/blue (some) flyer deck which netted my 8 wins in 10 games.
I never once managed to use her ability because many of my flyers were either not spirits or they were just tokens. But other than that, she won me two games as a big flying beater alone.
Oh, and in the German flavor text, this shy girl suddenly turns into a guy. :|

I know a lot of people hated on the name of this card when it was first spoiled, but I just read the Planeswalker's Guide to Avacyn Restored Part 1 (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/190c) which mentioned another angel of "Flight ." From this I can tell that a flight is a group of these angels, and Alabaster is the name of that specific flight. Knowing this, I hope her name is cooler to people than they were previously giving her credit for.
That said, she can't go in any of my decks because I don't run enough spirits. But she's so great I'm tempted to just build an entirely new deck for her.

Now I know I'm not the first to think about this, but you can easily use her with cards with changeling. Imagine running these and Crib Swap, or Nameless Inversion. It's neat that they're making Angels that shoehorn into other tribal decks, like Angelic Overseer.

Credit to faisjdas for explaining the card's name. This doesn't exactly go well with my Dearly Departed, but it's still a pretty decent- for your opponent, just plain annoying- card.

I have an angel/ramp casual deck. I run this in it, even though I don't have spirits in it. The reason is it's because it's 5cmc, perfect for a turn 3 drop in a ramp deck... but most of all, it's because she's very cute.

This is a really great card. Her ability is perfect for my U/W Spirit deck. She's close friends with Latch Seeker and Niblis of the Urn.
The artwork is easily a masterpiece! Howard Lyon definitely put heart and soul into it.

On the whole I love this card. It has EXCELLENT synergy with Ashes of the Fallen. The artwork is gorgeous. The flavor text made me sad, like really sad. . . I wanted to give her a hug. Above all else This card is well designed. It's almost perfectly balanced. Not Balance-balanced, but more like "beat your friends, and keep them too." balanced. 4/5.

Recursion based card advantage engine that can take over a kitchen table? Check. Ergo, a cheap powerful build around rare for casual multiplayer? Check. Synergy with Avacyn, Angel of Hope, because flavor text? Check. A not tragic end to the obvious lady crush on Avacyn? Check!

Add a sac engine and your good to go.
A bad 5 mana angel -> Starlit Angel.
A good 5 mana angel -> Melesse Spirit, Angel of Light.
A very good 5 mana angel -> Serra Angel, Shepherd of the Lost, Angel of Flight Alabaster.
A too good 5 mana angel -> Baneslayer Angel, Angelic Overseer.
